Was disappointed this visit. Had time before work to come in got to the shop and it was closed at 10am when it opens at 10am waited ten minutes then left. My boyfriend notice the door open after being in the car. Lady who does eyebrows wasn’t working that day understandable. Set a later time to open if you cannot do what is listed. service was still great

I discovered this great salon when 15 years ago. Patty has been doing a wonderful job with my hair. The whole staff is amazing.

Been going to this store since 2005, Susan has been great. I always did short hair, and recently grew my hair out over 2 years.. she did not hesitate to do as I asked, «Cut it ALL!» Really she impresses me.

Came here the first time because the place closer to my house was closed… Got a great cut and wasn’t overcharged.
I’ll be back!

I’ve been coming to Cool Clips off and on for about 2 years. I found out about them from my old roommates, when I used to live in Kearny Mesa. I say I’ve been seeing them off and on because I moved to LA for about a year, but during that time when I would come back to SD, (which was often because my GF lived in Clairemont) if I needed a cut I would drop by here. I have never made an appointment, but I would suggest doing so if you have a particular barber/​stylist you prefer to see. So with being a walk-​in customer well over 15 times, I’ve had my hair cut by many of the stylists/​barbers and I’ve never left disappointed. But just like with ANY stylist or barber you see, you need to specify what you want done, if not, you do run the risk of receiving a cut you might not be satisfied with. So don’t blame it on the barber or stylist if you don’t like how they cut your hair if you didn’t specify what exactly you wanted done.
I’m not too active of a Unilocaler but I really wanted to post this review because of my last cut I had there. They were already closed for the day but they still had a customer inside and the door was unlocked. They told me they were closed but one of the barbers, George, came out from the back and told me he could give me a cut. I just had the oil changed in my car and this was my last stop for the day, I had a photoshoot I was booked for the next day For a major national company’s summer catalog and this was the only place I felt comfortable going to for a hair cut. I shouldn’t have put my haircut off until the day before a shoot and if it wasn’t for the people at Cool Clips going above and beyond regular customer service I would have been SOL. So this along with the numerous satisfied haircuts I’ve received from here are why I’m giving Cool Clips 5 stars!

This is a family business that works hard to make clients feel special. I haven’t had a «hair stylist» for many years but Patty is my new favorite! I have gone to her four or five times and she colors my gray roots and also does very flattering cuts. Her hair is flowing and beautiful so of course she represents her skills well. And they keep the shop clean. Always a plus… one last thing– they also have cut my 3 daughter’s hair and we have not one complaint. They are a great business and we will continue to be their clients.

First timer and had such a great experience. George took care of me and cut my hair just the way i wanted.

I went here today for a hair cut. It is the best place to get hair cut, ask for Omar :)

Omar and George are the two main barbers. Both do great work. I recently have been getting my cuts from Omar, and the lineups that he does are some of the best you will find in San Diego. I know some guys that even drive from Chula Vista to come get lined up from him. Omar is really chill and funny so your experience with him is more than just a haircut. Clean shop and great staff. If you are looking for a fresh look stop in you won’t be disappointed.

I can’t speak for the ladies. But for guys. Especially military. Great place for a haircut. They do a skin high and tight and finish it up with a razor. It’s so smooth and nice. I’ve come here about 6 times and always walked away satisfied.

Only been going here because it’s close to my home. Was a little disappointed with my last few visits here. Not going to get in to detail. I should say there’s never been a problem with my cuts, just customer service. Maybe just not the place for me.

I love getting my haircut at this barber shop it’s clean and well kept the people are friendly and nice, the reason I come is because my barber takes his time to cut my hair and cleans his instruments very well and doesn’t hurt me while he’s cutting my hair. His trimming is fabulous

I took my son here once before, the cut was not what I asked for. a year later I came and did a walk in, I asked if the girl could cut my hair a certain way, I had a picture, she said yes. I was not even offered a hair wash, she lightly sprayed it with water and tugged at it with a cutting comb. She said You have something in your hair, I said what? she said something is in your hair, I said, you mean, Gel or something? yes, I had product in my hair and it was hard for her to comb through. I did not know I had to wash my hair before a walk in. I told her I have never had a dry cut before, and when it was done I told her it looked NOTHING like the picture, she told me to put pomade in it, which she did, on top of the products already on my hair, it still did not look anything like the picture, A day later it now looks as though she sawed off my hair with a butter knife, it looks frayed and is way shorter than I wanted. I cant do anything but wait for it to grow out, sucks I should have just paid the extra 5 bucks and gone somewhere else.

We brought our oldest son here for his first hair cut back in 1998. They did a good job on our squirmy, crying boy, so we started going there for our hair cuts too. We are still going there. Everyone is a lot of fun, nice and great at what they do.

I love coming here to get my haircut, extremely friendly atmosphere and I never leave unsatisfied. I would definitely check out Cool Clips, I think George is one of the best barbers in San Diego. I never feel rushed and I have never received a less than perfect haircut from him. Does extremely good razor fades and does great shaves as well. 5 stars all the way.
