This store great spot for locals. The seafood is fresh and prepared only upon order. It’s take out only which is a drawback but the food is still good. If they used some of that unused space for seating this place would be packed. Otherwise you’ll need to be on your way somewhere to eat it. I’d like to suggest some light advertising and possibly taking prepaid phone orders also delivery may bring a boon of customers since you have no dining area. Don’t forget to check out the fresh seafood for your own creations.

I don’t think you can get any better as a neighborhood shop. This place absolutely excels in craft beer. Nick, the owner, couldn’t be more courteous or helpful. They have bottled hard stuff, a small produce section that is actually quite useful, and lots of non-perishable stuff. In addition, they have a terrific seafood store inside Corner Liquor. Exactly what you want from a privately owned corner store. Tremendous service from the owner, and at least one thing that they excel at, and this place has two things. Beer and seafood. You can’t do better than Corner Liquor!

Ok, I do not dig their merchandise — the veggies, the canned/boxed goods, the beer, etc. And their ice cream, all they have is Ben and Jerry’s and sometimes when i got some of their ice cream a couple times it was so old and gross(this happened also at Bine and Vine, btw). However, the guys are down home guys — super nice — and they do their best for you. It’s also the best place locally to get hard booze and they have a selection of wines that are very very inexpensive which Vine and Bine does not have. Also, they carry The Really Good Kind of kombucha(kombucha 2000) which is hard to get. The guys go out of their way to help ppl in the neighbourhood. I mean, these guys do really care abt the neighbourhood and the ppl in it. They have kinda had the neighbourhood grow up around them, so now there are some kinda shi-shi types of businesses and not everyone appreciates ppl who are community-minded. If I were to offer one suggestion to the business for a way it could improve, if they could just get fresh, awesome produce, it’d be so great to not have to jump in a car and leave Normal Heights to get good produce. And no, Von’s does not count. Come in and check em out — get some booze or kombucha or they have Magnum ice cream bars which are great or breakfast cereal, milk, butter, eggs. They can hook you up. Be nice to them and you will find them kind and polite. I’ve seen the types of ppl who write the bad reviews in Corner Liquor trying to either cut in line or trying to talk Nick outta a bottle of booze for less than it’s worth and then having a little temper tantrum on the way out threatening bad reviews and — yes, it’s true those ppl the owners do not want back so I’ve seen them just go «ok bye!!! Don’t come back!» But if customer service means selling you booze for half the value or allowing ppl to cut in line or letting ppl steal(I’ve been living down the street for 7 yrs, I’ve seen it all), then they have bad customer service. But if you define customer service as being kind, patient, and tolerant of people who are — you know — actual customers, then Corner Liquor pretty much rules.

Corner Liquor is super convenient located in the heart of Normal Heights. This Place can be out of supplies really fast… Staff is friendly and helpful. As many Liquor stores in San Diego, they have a kitchen and can make you different types of Sandwiches. Store seems old and dirty at times… Parking is limited.

When the power goes out and you’re without the A/C, Corner Liquor will be there to take your money, They’ll raise the price of their ice to around 5 bucks, But it’ll cost them their rep those ignorant fucks, If that were the only fault then I would ignore, But there is a litany of things for us to abhor, I was out of town at the time but from what I understand, There was a shady dispute with his taco stand man, At the end of it all the taco stand was no more, But karma is coming to Corner Liquor’s door, So I’ll write it on Unilocal and I’ll say it out loud, I’ll relish the day when these guys move out, To ensure that it happens I will do my part, I ‘ll walk half-way down Adams before they’ll see my Visa card.

This place is a great convenience store. They have it all and Nick is great! He takes time to greet you, talk with your kids and he is an all around good guy. Sure he takes his time when chatting with customers but that is what it is all about the customer service, this isn’t a drive thru! If you need something he doesn’t have he will order it for you and if you are short a dollar or two he will spot you. He takes care of his regular’s and that is what customer service is all about.

Nick is the coolest dude alive. Polar bear toe nail cool. He has decent produce. Myriad of meat. Killer carne asada. Polla asada as well. I’m not sorry I misspelled that. Best beer selection on Adams. Place always comes thru in a pinch. Meatliqourmicroproduce. Love this place. Note. Be patient in line. Wait for it… wait for it…

I came here after getting a mailer about the specials they were running. I won’t type everything here, but I walked out with 5 pounds of different types of meat, bread, eggs, fruit, potatoes and some snacks for the wife all for about $ 30. Fantastic deal. The dude running the register was extremely helpful, he even gave me chicken breast when he was supposed to give me ground beef since they had run out. I’ll be watching the mail for their next round of specials because I flat out can’t beat the deal I just got. If you are going to complain about the dust and general lack of cleanliness, you should probably go back outside and read the part of the sign that says«liquor.» Seriously. Support Local Business.

When I look into liquor stores I usually have one thing in mind; beer selection. If you like beer, this place will definitely not disappoint. They carry New Belgium, Stone, Karl Strauss(special stuff not the usual) and quite a few others. If you want cheap beer, they have that too, although with all the great micro brews available in San Diego, I don’t recommend it. The staff was very friendly and easy to deal with. They were happy to help with snack acquisitions, or any other questions I had. I think my favorite part of this place, well aside from the beer, is the fact that Manny’s Taco Cart is inside. Great beer, good food, good snacks, friendly people. What else could I need in a corner liquor store. Give it a shot if you want.

Ok, I’d never ever order a sandwich from this place. Not only is it dirty inside(cluttered & dusty), the owner and at least one guy working there are slimy. They are rude, not nice to a lot of customers and frankly just don’t care if you ever come back in again. I’ve been treated bad repeatedly for no reason at all and I’ve seen it happen to many others as well. There could be a line of 5 customers waiting to pay but the owner(who apparently is married with kids) will stand behind the counter and chit chat with someone for over 5 minutes while the other people stand in line. I’ve seen people speak up to him and he gets mean. He doesn’t care if you put your stuff down and walk out. What an a**hole. After 18 months, I’ve finally recently decided that I won’t go back in there.
