The Council for Supplier Diversity (originally named the Greater San Diego Business Development Council) established in 1999, is a 501 © 3 nonprofit organization whose objective is to bring corporations and diverse business enterprises (DBEs) to leverage supplier diversity for economic empowerment in diverse communities. Historically, the Council served as an economic advocate for the minority business segment of the larger community of diverse business enterprises. Today the Council for Supplier Diversity (CSD) represents the corporate outreach to the broad range of Diverse Business Enterprises. This includes minority, woman and service disabled veteran owned businesses. Headquartered in San Diego, California, the Council has developed a reputation as an innovative leader in supplier diversity support and economic development strategy for diverse populations.
