CVS Minute Clinic

While the nurse was amazing, the customer service is aweful. I need a tb test for my teacher license and went to them because they were recommended. They told me to come back in 48 hours and they would be able to check. I came at the time they said. They wouldn’t see me. They told me I could get my results at an urgent clinic or my doctors office but my doctors was closed and when I went to the urgent care they specified, I was denied at the door because rhey wouldn’t take minute clinics paperwork. I will NEVER use or recommend because the lie I got from customer service, just to appease me

We had a great experience with NP Lisa today on the 4^th of July. My 8 year old came down with a high fever and general malaise while we were in town for the weekend. We got in just in the nick of time before they closed and Lisa was so great. She very heavily suspected strep based on several clues she pointed out to me and the rapid test came back positive too. We got our prescription filled right there within a few minutes and after 1 dose my son is already doing better. Thank goodness they were open today! So much better than an urgent care environment.

We were seen just minutes after signing in (Sunday around 11am) for pediatric strep throat. The NP was extremely nice, professional, and quick! She made my children feel very comfortable and was very personable.

If you are desperate, I guess this might be your only option. But, I’d rather call my GP or go to urgent care.
1. NP didn’t know the minute clinic systems and complained about her job.
2. Mis-​diagnosed me at Cali location, Mis-​diagnosed in at Houston location, Finally diagnosed my sinus infection at Cali location (3^rd visit in 3 weeks). Both the 2^nd and 3^rd visits tried to insult the previous medical professional’s efforts and one tried to blame my use of Q-​tips as the issues (before she even looked in my ear), then had to back peddle that my «ears haven’t popped» sensation wasn’t ear wax but pressure from my sinuses.
3. The lack of knowing how to use the system resulted in a double billing, which took 3 calls to resolve. Each was over an hour wait time. The 2^nd call agent said they were fixing it; though a month later I got a bill saying I was overdue on my payment (though I had paid for the valid billings. The 3^rd call was a 63 minute wait time, followed by a message that said I had reached them outside of business hours (Monday 10am PT).
4. I finally resorted for my first time to Twitter and got a response very quickly. Billing issue resolved in short order finally.

Came in on a Sunday and there was no line and the NP was super nice and personable. I was in and out quick and even got my flu shot. Recommend coming late afternoon, but I would absolutely come back here :)

Great option for those who don’t have medical insurance.
I was in and out very quickly. NP was extremely thorough.
I tested positive for Strep Throat.
Visit, Strep Test and Antibiotics for under $ 200.
I went from feeling like I may die to almost back to normal within 24 hours. I am so thankful for Minute Clinic.

Things you need to know;
1.) Clinic visit w/​out insurance is $ 89
2.) If you don’t want to wait I advise coming is 15 mins BEFORE they open so you can sign in. I did this on a Sat. and not only was I first in line, There was no one else that came in until I was done.
3.) You can not make an appointment in advance, it has to be the day of, at the touch screen kiosk in the back of the store.
3.) My prescriptions (w/​out insurance) was 30 bucks. Can’t complain. I was prescribed amoxicillin and this gargle numbing stuff.
4.) The Doc I saw was super quick, and for someone who’s tonsils had been swollen for two weeks I was not in the mood to sit there any longer than I had to. He was to the point, checked all my symptoms and then gave me a prescription. He also didn’t do a strep test on me which if I heard him right runs around 80 bucks (thank God), so try to urge the doctor to just treat you if your symptoms were as bad/​long as mine.
If you don’t have insurance check this place out, cheaper to go than if you DID have insurance and went to Urgent Care which is going to run you $ 100+

Got what feels like bronchitis and came in because I don’t have insurance. Every 30 seconds I felt a break from this horrible chest cough. I signed up at the kiosk easily and was fourth in line to see someone. Sat and waited about 40 minutes. Went by the cough suppressant isle and went to front of CVS to purchase. When I came back (no announcement) I find that a mom with her crying child which I can sympathize with, had been seen before me and the mom knew I’d been waiting and was there and had seen me walk to the front. She had logged in 10 minutes after I had and had cut in before me. I’ve been sitting here now an additional 15 minutes and still feel like absolutely dying. The only thing that is making it better is a CVS employee «Dee» who offered me water. She was so kind and friendly.
I just came out with the doctor and she got me a «z» pack and cough with codine syrup and some other stuff. She said she called my name… when there’s only 3 chairs and 7 – 8 people in line, use the intercom and perhaps wait a minute next time. I was a little short with her when I first walked in, but quickly got over it so I could get it done and get back to work. Overall not too bad; she was polite and said she’d follow up with me Monday by phone which was nice. $ 89 for visit which is cheapest I’ve seen for a walk in, Chrisy the pharmacy tech at CVS was really friendly and had a discount card for me on file. Everything there cost $ 50. Overall not too bad anymore, just a bad experience getting skipped and the wait. I bumped from a 2 up to a 3 star because of the service.

The rating is due to the people that work here are nurse practitioners only that do not have the training as Medical doctor or doctor of osteopathy. If I am paying for doctor visit, I want be seen by a doctor.
I have gone here for few very easy things because other place were full of patients and closing.
I won’t recommended this location unless other place can’t fit you in or are close. It’s okay for sports physicals and vaccines, although I do wondering how detail their physicals would be.

I go here because I don’t have insurance. Every time I have been whether it has been strep throat or felicitous they have taken great care of me. They usually try to work with me to get the best deal. I have nothing but good to say about the clinicians here.

I was experiencing cold/​flu symptoms and a sore throat… I was hoping for antibiotics or a flu shot… they gave me extra strength cough syrup and something to numb my throat…2 days later, my symptoms have worsened… Im now experiencing a fever and nausea… called back to request a stronger prescription and lady says it will be another $ 90 visit charge to reevaluate me… weak.!! next time i’ll go to a real doctor.

I have a cold, I know what I need. Prescription drugs! Feeling bleh I didn’t want to wait at PB Clinic although I like PB Urgent Care. I have a simple cold so didn’t want to go to my primary doctor either, too much work with making appointments, etc. I walked in, signed into their automated computer system and was put on an automated wait list. Pretty cool. No wait, saw the Nurse Practitioner immediately. He checked all of my vital signs, concluded that I had a virus and gave me a prescription for it. In and out, simple. This is not a doctor and some people may be confusing them for one. If you check their website it says that you are treated by a Nurse Practioner. If you have a cold, or some other basic sickness and already know you’re going to need drugs… it’s the place to go. Friendly service! Oh, and it’s nice that the pharmacy is right next door but darn that 15 minute wait for the drugs…15 minute wait at CVS costs me $ 50 (shopping while I wait)!

The nurse there was super rude when my husband got an ear infection. Gave us an rx for some BS ear drops and the ear infection got worse and we had to pay more $ to go see an ear, nose and throat specialist… Plus I don’t trust people that are a NURSE and are severely overweight.

I decided that after my cold still had not gone away I’d head here for a small checkup. I was referred by a friend instead of waiting in line at the PB urgent care. I was seen by a really sweet nurse practitioner who gave me a brief checkup after taking my insurance (woot). She was hesitant to give me any antibiotics because of the risk of «over-​treating» and referred me to some prescription flonase. All good. She even walked the few feet over to the pharmacy and handed my perscription to the pharmacist to make sure they understood that I was getting what she wanted. She promised to call me this week to see if I was getting any better– don’t get that kind of love at the urgent care. The process was overall painless and really fast. It satisfied my trip to the doctor without the hassle of going to the doctor. For minor stuff — I seriously recommend going here.

The closest thing you will see to a doctor here is a Mr. Pibb in the soft drink aisle. They are nurse practitioners who can write prescriptions and give strep tests, but it didn’t really feel like I receiving everything that I could have for my sickness. I went in for a sore throat and muscle aches and came out with some extra strength Advil and some throat coat. Could have gotten much stronger pain killers for less on the streets!
While the NP was very nice I just felt unsatisfied not to mention still sick as $h!T. If you don’t have medical insurance, I suppose it is an ok alternative to paying a doctor ridiculously out of pocket. Next time I will probably just suffer through the pain. I need that moolah for booze!
