Dale E Martin, MD

I’ve been seeing Dale Martin for over 20 years and have not had a single bad experience with him or his office. He operates the most efficient medical practice I’ve ever encountered, has a great manner when discussing risks and treatments and puts patients first always. Even though I could get care through my primary insurance, I always see Dale on my own nickel to receive the best possible care. He is five stars for sure!

I came in looking for help with a minor skin condition. I was not offered any immediate assistance or remedy and was told to let it run its course. Months later, nothing has changed. For this invaluable piece of information in a 20-​minute discussion, I was billed $ 96. The doctor didn’t even lay a finger on me. We had a good talk, I learned new things and Dale can be a pretty nice guy. Although he’s very knowledgeable, nothing he told me was worth the price. A Google search would have saved me the time, trouble, and a few weeks’ groceries. Can’t say I’ll be back at the offices of Dale Martin.

I made an appointment with «Dr. Martin», thinking it was Barbara (I feel more comfortable having a female give me an entire body skin-​scan, haha), but showed up to an appointment Dr. Dale Martin. I brought my records of my history with a mild form of melanoma and he made me feel very comfortable and I was confident he checked every mole thoroughly. My only complaint was the few moles that he did remove, were removed at a slightly deeper level than the ones I had done back in my hometown, when I originally was diagnosed with melanoma, leaving a little bit more scarring. I feel like the scars will eventually fade, but they are much bigger and redder than my first ones. This is because he is more «conservative» and takes more skin in order to ensure there is no melanoma present, so I really shouldn’t complain about it! He even called me personally once the biopsy results were received and I love when doctors take the time to do that themselves. He’s officially my dermatologist here in San Diego!

For my 9:10 AM appointment, I was seated in a room by 9:15 AM and Dale (as he asked to be called) was in the room within 15 seconds. And this despite the fact that I was a first time visitor. Dale was kind, thorough, and efficient with both his and my time. I was treated and out of there by 9:40 AM!
I’m stingy with my five star ratings, but as long as the billing process goes smoothly with my insurance, I’m going to bump him up to five stars.

I’ve been to see Dr. Martin twice for a common skin pigmentation that I get about once a year around summertime and each time the visits are quick and easy. He is a very nice guy and was helpful in informing me about my condition. The ladies at the check in counter are happy looking. The office is nice and takes up the whole fifth floor.
