It’s difficult to praise a place that already clearly is recognizable for its incredible services and products. That said, I am writing this review to echo the other feedback for David & Sons Fine Jewelers and share my experience working with them.
Last year I visited their store with my girlfriend as we walked around the UTC mall. We had already discussed our future together and so our plans for engagement were not too far off. After visiting other jewelry stores we finally came to David & Sons and were immediately impressed with their customer service. They were extremely welcoming and happy to show us their products, which were stunningly beautiful. They even allowed my girlfriend to try on different rings and identify which style she liked best.
Leaving the store I knew David & Sons would be where I bought an engagement ring — some time later that’s exactly what I did. They still had a record on file for my girlfriend which helped identify what she liked and didn’t like from the visit before. The end result was purchasing a ring that my girlfriend — now fiancé — absolutely loves! Working with David & Sons, I was able to find the perfect ring and can’t believe how easy they made the entire experience! I worked directly with Edmond and Emil who are both very knowledgeable and truly passionate about their trade, but the rest of the staff also helps eliminate any stress in purchasing exceptional jewelry.
I highly recommend visiting David & Sons Fine Jewelers at the UTC Mall, you will not be disappointed.

I recently purchased an engagement ring for my now Fiancé. I went to a few other jewelry stores, but was frustrated with the level of service I received, while making what is, a huge investment. I felt pressured into buying and believed the level of knowledge of the salesmen was inadequate. The other jewelry stores only wanted a commission and did not focus on my needs as a customer.
I ended up going to David and Sons in San Diego, CA. I spoke with Armin, who instantly put me at ease with all the aspects of rings and diamonds. He helped me pick out a ring and a diamond that not only fit my budget, but was much of a much higher quality that the other jewelry stores provided. Armin was a joy to work with and provided exceptional customer service.
After making the purchase I left with a smile and a sense that I got the perfect ring and had found a Jeweler that will stand behind me and their product for years to come. I would highly recommend David and Sons Fine Jewelry and Armin to anyone looking to make their fiancé as happy as mine was with her stunning engagement ring!

I don’t usually post reviews but I wanted to make sure that David and Sons got the review it deserved. My husband bought my engagement ring from Edmund. Edmund worked with us to create the perfect ring for me. He went through many diamonds as well to find the perfect diamond for the perfect ring. After several weeks, a mold was made and shown to me to make sure it was exactly what I wanted.
I was so satisfied with my engagement ring and wedding band so since then, we have made more purchases, including my new diamond earrings for our one year! Edmund made sure I got what I wanted and everything is so reasonably priced. I really love everything I have gotten here and I don’t think you can do any better in terms of customer service and quality satisfaction! No wonder professional athletes also come here with their fiancés and wives!
Ask for Edmund, he’s seriously the best.

Had a wonderful experience here. Started back in late October, bringing my gf in to the store to get examples or ideas of rings.
The staff was extremely patient, helpful and kind. They understood this is a huge decision and it’s easy to get overwhelmed.
Once we had an idea of what to design, Jamie met with me on a later date and spent a good hour dissecting diamonds, bands, and making sure I was completely happy with my decision and purchase.
The big day came around and she was blown away by the ring. I appreciate everything David & Sons did for me to make this moment perfect.
Wouldn’t recommend going anywhere else.

My then boyfriend and I went into David’s and Son’s just to look around and we were helped by Armin. He was so friendly and attentive and you can tell he truly cares about his customers. We probably took up 2 hours of his time browsing and asking questions. We also went to another jewelry store nearby but we were not as impressed with the quality or service.
Months later my boyfriend presented me with a beautiful engagement ring that he ended up buying from Armin. I couldn’t be happier with my ring. It is so sparkly and gorgeous. It was slightly too big and he had it resized very quickly! I would not hesitate to recommend Armin and David’s and Son’s for their beautiful jewelry and top notch customer service.

David and sons was the best experience I had when shopping for the engagement ring. I went to about 8 different stores and D&S was my last stop for the day. I didn’t know very much about diamonds except the bit of Internet research so the owner of D&S spent about 3 hours talking to me and explaining everything. Everyone in the store is friendly, but the owner is one of those people that can make you feel like family instantly. He is sincere and his personality is warm. Funny thing is, I told him from the beginning that it was my first day looking and I wasn’t going to buy. I was just looking to see what my options were for my price range. 3 hours later I walked out with a ring, and it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

I needed to get a written appraisal on a diamond bracelet, so I tried a few different places at the UTC mall. One place could only give a verbal appraisal & the other place could do a written appraisal, BUT they would have to ship it out of their office to their gemologists for 2 weeks! My coworker told me to try the «Shiny Store» across Forever 21. They have a GIA & AGS certified appraiser on site. I was in & out with documentation in hand in under 30 minutes!
The gemologist’s name is Armin, and he is very nice & personable like the others that work there. He offered me Persian tea while I waited (delicious!). He inspects your jewelery at the front of the store where you can watch him. I decided to browse while he worked & they have the most stunning high-​quality pieces. There’s a visible workstation at the back of the store where you can watch them custom-​make each piece of jewelry.
While I was sitting & waiting, a lady walked in to pick up her mother’s ring & they kindly asked her for her name & ID to be sure they weren’t giving a ring to just anyone. The daughter was eyeing some jewerly herself, but none of the sales people were pushy at all.
I don’t know too much about diamonds, so when he was finished, Armin took the time to educate me & go over the entire appraisal. He reccommended a reputable place to insure my bracelet, he gave me complimentary jewerly cleaner, a special cleaning cloth (magic!) & a $ 100 gift card off my next purchase! As opposed to big name stores, I feel like family-​owned places work harder to earn your business & I will definitely drop hints for my boyfriend to shop here when we get married: D

David & Sons continues to provide us with wonderful customer service and great care for our jewelry. I brought a dear family heirloom in — my moms ruby ring. The setting was out of date and no longer supporting the ruby and diamonds. I had an idea in mind of how I wanted the new white gold setting to look and David & Sons delivered beyond my expectations. They made me feel comfortable knowing I was leaving this sweet heirloom with them and creatively managed the project with extra care. When we picked the ring up I was blown away — it looked better than I had ever expected and now a memory of my mom will last forever in this beautiful new setting!

Wow I can’t say enough good things about our experience at David & Sons! We did extensive searches for quality jewelers in the La Jolla area and this company constantly came up on top and we understand why! We upgraded my engagement ring using a very special family diamond and Armin, our sales assistant, was very knowledgeable and walked us through all the options. He took his time with us and explained each and every detail of both our diamond and his settings. He wasn’t pushy at all and we really appreciated that. We found the perfect setting and to our surprise, he was able to have it set within two hours while we finished our holiday shopping! We walked out with the loveliest ring and we could be happier! I’ve never been so happy to spend 20% of my annual income on one purchase.
The man you need to see is Jaime. I mean, read some of the earlier reviews. The guy has a reputation for being extremely professional and helpful in finding the exact piece of jewelry you’re looking for, and that was exactly how my experience was.
After five years, I was confident I found the girl I wanted to wake up next to when I’m 72 years old, half blind and hard of hearing. To lock her down, I knew I had to pop the questions but more importantly I wanted to give her an engagement ring that reflected the magnitude of my appreciation for her. While I’m not a genius I am smart enough to know that with a purchase this big, you don’t want to screw it up. So rather than try my hand at mind reading (I explored my telepathy powers in Vegas to no avail… Should have bet on red!) and picking a ring I thought she’d like, I told her to put together a shopping list of what she wanted in a ring. To do this, she needed help from the experts.
She found her way into David & Sons when she went with a friend who was having her wedding set cleaned (her husband had purchased them through David & Sons). First thing to know about David & Sons is that all of their pieces are custom made. In my experience shopping around, most other places have a «what you see is what you get» inventory where you select a center stone and they slip it into the pre-​made band (for rings). My girl has particular taste, which is great because she’s selective and knows what she wants. However, it would be difficult to find what she wants going with the «pre-​made» route. Anyways, she talks with Jaime while her friend’s ring is getting cleaned and in less than 30 minutes, she’s developed a complete list of «my perfect ring» attributes, from the 4 C’s of diamonds to the type of metal, size of band and center stone setting.
So after she gives me the list and tells me about her wonderful experience with David & Sons, what do I do? Absolutely avoid David & Sons and go and do my own shopping. Turns out it was a complete waste of time. I went to David’s Bridal, Jared’s and some other privately owned jewelers in North County. All of them felt like used car salesmen where they were trying to convince me to buy something they had instead of finding the perfect item I was looking for. Sure they had rings and diamonds, but to compare David & Sons to these other places would be like comparing Nordstroms to JC Penny– sure they both have clothes but the product and experience aren’t the same. The only thing that is similar is the price. David & Sons weren’t the cheapest, but they were definitely in the same ballpark. But when you compare the quality of what you get, David & Sons were by far the best value.
I ended up finding my way back to David & Sons when I had had enough of the other jewelers. Jaime had a file of my girlfriend’s exact ring requests and showed me a ring that matched up fairly well to what she wanted. We talked for a bit, I looked at some center stones and finally gave him my number. Within 30 mins they had met my number with the exact ring and stone I wanted and had processed my credit.
The cherry on top was when I told them I needed the ring in about 5 weeks in order to propose on the exact date I wanted. Because everything is custom made and it was the holiday season (I went in November), they expected timeline to have the ring finished was a bit longer than the 5 weeks. However, Jaime and the ring builder worked their magic and have both the engagement ring and wedding band in my hand in time for the proposal.
I plan on going back to Jaime when it’s time to upgrade the ring and have already sent a few friends his way when they were ring shopping.
Can’t beat the value or the experience.

I had high hopes for this place after reading the Unilocal reviews. My experience stands in stark contrast to the others.
When I went into the store with my fiancée I believe there were 2 other customers max. I do remember one other looking at loose stones. [I bring this up because they weren’t busy and had enough people to give us attention.] A middle-​aged lady asked what we were looking for I said we were looking for solitaires. She directed us back to the bridal section.
This could have easily been the easiest sale in her life. I had given my fiancée a diamond earring I wore to get engaged (mounted in a tiffany), and then I was looking to replace it with a larger stone. My budget was $ 5400, and I wanted to spend it.
When the lady asked what my budget was, I said, «$ 3000». I did this because i wanted room to go up and up. Also, my fiancée doesn’t know much about diamonds, and I wanted her to be able to pick one she liked, (and if we were in the ¾ carat size range, that we could get into the colorless VS’s).
The lady just stood there, reluctantly showed us a ¾ ring in the $ 3000 range. Normally when you get to ring shopping, you feel welcome enough to set down, they pull the display pad, the cleaning cloth, and they sit down themselves opposite of you. Did we feel welcome? No we absolutely did not. (We weren’t even dressed bad either.)
Then, I asked if she could drop my fiancée’s ring in the ultrasonic. I was told, «no, we only do that for customers». I felt that to be a little odd. Her excuse was, «Our equipment so so powerful that it could knock out a stone.». Really? I asked if you could drop a single stone-​solitaire into your ultra sonic. Before you clean ANY ring you should inspect the prongs and the stones to see if any are loose. She would have found that the stone was tight. Also, I’m not sure why a business wouldn’t use that as an opportunity to sell repairs.
In short, I found David & Sons to be a pretentious jeweler that provided 0 customer service. There was a $ 5400 ¾ carat colorless VS2 ring we did see; and I wanted to buy it. But her flat out refusal to show us some decency means I left and I’ll buy my wedding sets elsewhere.

We had a wonderful experience of going into David and Sons jewelry store we were greeted with wonderful hospitality and you could tell they really cared about making us happy and finding what we wanted there was no pressure and no Hussle at all we gave them our price range and they were very happy and willing to show us what we could afford in our price range we walked out with an absolutely beautiful ring and we are so happy that we went to David sons and jewelry I recommend anyone looking for A engagement ring or a wedding band or anything else visit them you won’t be sorry

My parents passed down a vintage engagement ring, which allowed me to use the diamond and design a custom setting. Prior to David & Sons (which I was referred to by my cousin), I visited another jeweler and a large chain store. Both jewelers quoted much higher prices for a custom ring.
I looked no further and went to David & Sons. I was fortunate to meet Armin, who had been on the same page as me from day one. He was able to accommodate all the elements I wanted, and create a one-​of-​a-​kind engagement ring. My sister accompanied me on multiple visits to provide input, and Armin incorporated her opinions as well.
When the ring was being made, I was updated with a slo-​mo video of the wax mold and pictures of final welding. The ring turned out beautiful and was completed ahead of schedule. I successfully proposed to my fiancé shortly after, and she LOVES the fact that the diamond has been in the family and was a custom designed ring.
It has been a great experience and I highly recommend visiting Armin at David & Sons. He has rings and settings that are ready to be purchased, or is ready to sit down and create a masterpiece with you.

Amazing customer service. They are their to help you and work within your budget. We love our wedding bands! Free cleaning every 6 months! I highly recommend this place.
My cousins purchased their bands and diamonds from David and Sons. They make extra efforts to make sure you walk away happy, referrals are a big thing to them.

This is a late review but it’s def worth posting.
My husband and I walked in their store last June and Edmond has been the most professional, accommodating and truly amazing person that helped us!
He immediately sensed my taste and got me the ring design I wanted and fell in love immediately with it.
The photo does not do justice as the engagement and wedding rings were totally mesmerizing and special.
They gave us a touching gift too for our engagement (I won’t brag what it was but im telling ya, this store does not toy with the word «customer service and satisfaction»)
Edmond worked within our budget and the rings will be serviced and cleaned free for a lifetime! How great is that!
Will def come back to the store for silver, gold and diamond anniversaries and just to purchase jewelry in general as their designs are truly remarkable.

The pictures of our wedding bands don’t do justice. Jaime was our main go to person from the start, and we are extremely amazed by his expertise. My wife and I purchased our wedding bands 3 weeks before our wedding date and we got her ring in 4 days.
Jaime always makes sure we get what we Love and not just what we like. My wife never settles, so it was important for me that Jaime knew what she wanted. Funny fact, my wife can’t take her eyes off her engagement ring and wedding band. Happy wife, Happy life as they say.

Emil and the rest of the David and Sons team are amazing. My fiancé came to David and Sons to purchase my engagement ring. He told me that his experience at the store was the best when it came to picking out a diamond, deciding on a setting, and making the ring of my dreams a reality. He said everyone he came in contact with was exceedingly friendly, patient, knowledgable, and very willing to make sure he had a positive experience. It’s rare to find establishments with that type of service.
Flash forward to today. I had the day off of work and happened to look down at my ring and I realized my setting was loose. As soon as my fiancé came home I showed him and he suggested we visit David and Sons to have them check it out. The minute we walked in we were greeted in a way that made us feel like family. Emil assisted us, and I was able to finally meet the man who helped my fiancé create the ring I love so much.
I showed Emil how my setting was loose and without hesitation he took it and ensured it was fixed. He didn’t hesitate or ask any questions, which is what I’m sure other establishments would do. Fifteen minutes later my ring came back to me all fixed and I didn’t have to pay a dime. That surprised me since as I was walking through the mall the other jewlers had signs out stating their charge for jewelry repair.
After I put my ring back on my finger, my fiancé and I asked Emil a few questions about wedding bands. Emil was patient and walked us through our options and did not pressure us to buy any at the moment. He let us look at a few and even offered to make a custom band for my ring.
This establishment is a family run business and they definitely treat you like family the minute you walk in the store, whether you purchase or not. In a few months my fiancé and I will definitely be returning to finalize our decisions regarding wedding bands and I highly recommend anyone looking for jewelry items to stop by and visit Emil and his family.

So yes, we did come back here for our wedding bands! We worked with Jaime again since he had already been in touch with my fiancé and knew from day one what we wanted. He didn’t disappoint — still greeted us by name when we walked in!
The wedding band we picked out perfectly complements mine. It fit with my engagement wonderfully and really helps to bring out the stone and setting. As for my fiancé, he was originally going to go with a square ring, but after trying out some of their Tungsten/​darker metal designs, he ended up liking that more. And better yet, since it was in stock, we walked out that day with it!
Mine will need to be custom made, but they were sure to get our wedding date down to make sure we would get it plenty of time (I recommend purchasing at least 4 – 6 weeks in advance — in case you need to get it sized, etc).
I can’t wait to get my wedding band! I know it’s going to look awesome.

If you are tired of walking into jewelry stores that sell rings that look like you could have gotten them from a capsule toy ring dispenser or if you are tired of walking into stores where they want an arm-​and-​a-​leg in exchange for a magic-​less ring, I recommend visiting David & Sons. The latter recommendation also applies if you would rather avoid — car — salesy jewelry representatives.
My fiancé and I found the perfect wedding bands and the perfect purchase experience to go with it at David & Sons. Our representative, Edmond, honored the special-​ness of our engagement and our wedding band hunt, listened, provided valuable insight into ring care, David & Sons commitment to the care of our future rings, and, overall, took great care of our needs.
