David is an amazing photographer! He was very patient when photographing my family. He captured my 2 year olds independent, free spirit beautifully! I would definitely use him again. Not only did he make us feel comfortable but his prices are very reasonable!

My boyfriend and I had pictures taken on Coronado beach at sunset that came out fantastic! David did a great job making us feel comfortable and was even super patient with our dog in the pictures :). We had a great time during the shoot and sorting through the pictures afterwards. The prices were very fair and it was an overall fun experience!

I just didn’t have a great of an experience as I was hoping I would. The photo session was good since he really made us feel comfy but when it comes time looking at the pics and ordering he seems In a hurry and just wanted us to purchase all the pics on cd for $ 400, supposedly on sale normally he charges $ 600 which I think is extremely overpriced. I’ve used different photographers who can produce the same quality pictures like he does for a quarter of the price he charged. He even told us that he used a two thousand dollar lens to shoot us. Frankly I don’t care how much your lenses are just do your job and take pictures. He also said that he isn’t pushy but suggested he follows us to an ATM so we can get cash. He doesn’t take credit cards which is very inconvenient since nowadays even small businesses can take credit cards. Idk about you but I just can’t pay or at least come up with$ 400 or $ 600 cash for a cd. lastly, his computer was running out of battery and he says it’s never happened before so he is in a hurry for us to pick the pics. And when I changed my mind a couple times because I’ve seen better pics he was very impatient. Bottom line 3 high res pics for $ 100 since that’s all I am willing to spend, and he still made us compute for however much discount we saved. Still could’ve done better. Won’t be coming back.

My fiancé and I worked with David for our engagement photos. He was very professional, organized, and easy to work with. We were able to view our photos immediately after the session which was convenient. Later we decided we wanted to purchase a few more of the shots and he made time for us to review our pictures again and burned the files for us on the spot. The photos turned out great!

David was very professional; we had family photos taken at Sunset Cliff s; I got a deal through Tippr, and it was a bit hard to schedule — no weekends were available until after the expiration. we worked out Fri Afternoon which was fine.
I ended up buying the disc with over 120 photos; about half of them I will have printed. He did a great job and the family photo I showed folks was fantastic; everybody who has seen it has said it is absolutely beautiful. He is very professional and honest, very good photographer.

Purchased two Living Social sessions with David and had photo shoot with him at Coronado Beach. Although I think of myself as being a photogenic person, he made me feel really comfortable out on the beach where TONS of people were out as bystanders. I was allowed to view my photos after the session was complete and they were awesome! I’m looking forward to scheduling my second session with him soon out as Sunset Cliffs.

We had family pictures taken earlier this week with David. In scheduling the appointment, he was very friendly, responsive, and thorough. Our original appointment date was cold and overcast and I was relieved when David called to ask about picking another day. He was flexible and allowed us to pick almost any other day that worked best with our schedules.
We met at Sunset Cliffs which, while it’s a beautiful ocean background, we would not recommend it for younger children (steep cliff and minor hiking involved). David happily accommodated us and improvised when we insisted on staying on a safer ledge than his usual photo spot. Our session lasted about an hour and David was patient and engaging to help our 5, 3 & 3 month old keep happy throughout.
Immediately afterwards, we looked through all the pictures on his laptop. There were about a dozen that I loved! He is a very talented photographer (schooled at the infamous Brooks Institute). We were thrilled with the family photos and that was even before any retouching. He was able to capture my son and daughter with natural smiles rather than the fake ones they typically give. He was also able to get our 3 month old to look directly at the camera in a couple of the shots.
I would strongly recommend just preparing to purchase the «whole photo session on CD/​DVD.» David sells the high resolution pictures (all of them) to you and you can then do what you like with them (have prints made, etc.). It is an investment, but gives you complete freedom to use them. The session on CD also comes with retouching which David completed within 2 days of our session. He is very skilled in the sophisticated software programs and I was pleased with the retouching results. I would gladly recommend David to any family or friend.

David took our family pictures last weekend. I requested an on location beach photo shoot but didn’t know where to go. He suggested Sunset Cliffs which was a perfect setting. He was timely and had a great repoire with our 2 year old and 3 year old girls. He actually go them to smile! They scream at most photographers. He showed us the photos immediately following the session and made time to meet me a couple of days later so I could browse sans kids. There were so many good shots I bought the whole session! We had some funky hair in one of the shots and he was able to fix it. David is professional and has high quality work. I highly recommend him!

It is my pleasure to highly recommend David Troyan Photography if you are looking for professional photographs! David provided us with exceptional customer service before, during and after the photo shoot. David recommended several sites within San Diego, and we ended up with a beautiful shoot around Balboa Park! David had a way of relaxing our entire family, bringing out beautiful smiles and even gaining the attention of our four dogs during the entire shoot. David made this time extremely enjoyable and made the whole family feel included, which is very hard to do with two girls ages 10 and 12! Thank you for providing us with beautiful pictures to share with all our friends and family.
