History

Established in 2004.

After working for Washington Mutual Bank, another Direct Lender, and then varying Mortgage Brokers together and seeing the realities of this industry, Matt Sauer and Chris DePaso wanted to found a highly competitive mortgage company that would be based on Integrity always doing what is best for their clients while getting them the most competitive rates on the market, which they felt was lacking in the current industry.

In 2005 with over 20+ year of experience behind them they started this company, Different Mortgage. They have positioned themselves on the wholesale side of the business looking at many different banks to get their

clients the best available rate on the market.

In addition to this, they are also committed to giving 10% of Gross Profit to various organizations helping the poor and needy which aligns with their idea of being a «Different» kind of leader in this industry that is always putting the needs of others before their own.

Business Owner

Matt Sauer has been in the mortgage industry for over fifteen years. He moved to San Diego after he graduated from State University of New York in 2000 and has been here, loving the area, ever since. He began his career in the industry soon after his move to San Diego when he went to work for Washington Mutual. After working for a direct lender, and eventually a mortgage broker, he decided to become a broker himself in 2007. After being in the industry for some time, he realized that he wanted to make a difference not only within the culture of the industry, but also by using the industry to impact the world around us. He has since made the commitment to give 10% of the company’s gross profits to meeting the needs of the poor and needy.

Matt is most passionate about his faith, helping others, and truly making a difference in people’s lives. He has been on mission trips to South Korea, southern Mexico, Israel, Peru, Kenya, and tsunami relief work in Japan. Over the past seven years, he
