Double Standard Kitchenetta combines San Diego Americana cuisine and Italian specialties with a comfortable, yet modern open-air concepts that brings the indoors out. It’s a guest-centric food playground where innovative fare, high-style service, and design meet a casual vibe at an approachable price point; the Double Standard.
Double Standard is the first San Diego restaurant concept by David C. Mainiero. He conceptualized and designed Double Standard from scratch to reflect its eclectic East Village neighborhood, and to bring something new to the area.

Manager
Chris Gentile is the executive chef at DSKitchenetta. At 24, he is the youngest executive chef in downtown San Diego. He has cooked with Grant Achatz at Alinea in Chicago, McCrady’s in Charleston, and Thomas Keller’s Per Se in New York City. Also featured on Bravo TV show Recipe for Deception.
