When walking into my office I want everyone to feel comfortable and at ease. There is nothing worse than stressing on going to the location only to receive a treatment that is less than comfortable. My favorite part of electrolysis is when my clients can see the results. I can tell results gradually, but it really doesn’t mean anything until my clients see results!

History

Established in 2008.

My struggle began at age 12 when I discovered my first chin hair! I was shocked, but most of all embarassed and thought no one in the world had what I had. My mom knew a woman who received electrolysis treatments, and said «I never shave my legs! I haven’t for quite some time now.» I couldn’t believe there was something out there like that. As I got older I knew that I wanted to help others that had the same struggle as I did, and didn’t know where to turn. I received my first electrolysis treatment in school, and knew then and there, with electrolysis I could help people with their unwanted hair as well. Ever since then, it is my goal to make sure you leave my office knowing that I am here to help you!

Hi, my name is Elise. After completing my electrolysis program in 2007, I moved from Long Beach, Ca to San Diego. To have stumbled upon Dwell Sanctuary in 2008 was truly a blessing. I worked at Dwell Sanctuary for almost 4 ½ years, and have since moved to a new location in Banker’s Hill. It was such a wonderful opportunity to work with some amazing practioners. When I am not working, I am spending time with my two children. They are amazing and they definitely keep me on my toes!

About one year after first seeing Elise, I thought I’d finally submit a review.
I was looking to have ear, neckline and some back and shoulder hair removed. Yes, men want hair removed too. I tried laser before, which didn’t do squat in the long run. Contacted Elise and joined her waiting list; about 3 months later, she was able to accommodate me into her schedule. The first session was an informational one followed by a 10 minute electrolysis session to see if I could tolerate it. After a few sessions I ended up buying one of her packages, which reduced the cost.
I’ve been seeing Elise monthly for 45 min each session. The hair is all about gone, and I’m thrilled with the results.
As far as Elise goes, she’s very personable and professional – you can talk to her about anything, and I’m not surprised to read other clients’ 5 star reviews here.

I was referred to Elise by my aesthetician about 6 months ago when I expressed an interest in permanent hair removal. I scheduled a consult and was pleased to find her friendly, knowledgeable, and professional.
I purchased a package of sessions and have found it to be a fantastic service at an excellent price. Elise is experienced and very efficient. Sure, it hurts a little occasionally, but overall not as uncomfortable as I expected and Elise keeps me engaged in conversation the whole time.

Elise is a true professional and takes her work very seriously. She’s someone who really cares about her clients. I had a great appointment with her the other day. I felt comfortable with her and didn’t feel nervous about the procedure at all. Her room is lovely and peaceful. I’ve had electolysis in the past with someone else and it was quite painful. Not so with Elise’s machine. I could barely feel anything. Elise is kind, funny, and has a great personality! I highly recommend her. She’s so worth it even if you have to wait a little bit to get an appointment. She’s also prompt in returning messages. You won’t be disappointed. Did I say I actually look forward to my appointment? Absolutely!

Let me start with – Elise is incredible!!! She’s the sweetest, funniest, nicest and most professional human being! I don’t necessarily love the process but I love the results and Elise makes the entire electrolysis procedure that much better! I should also mention that she’s very accommodating with great hours for those of us who work 9 – 5! I’d highly recommend electrolysis for hair removal (since I’ve tried laser before and it ended up being expensive, and yielding very poor results) and I would only recommend Elise since she’s the best!!!

I had an appointment today at 12:45. After waiting 20 min and seeing no one, I left. I’m sorry but I find that it incredibly unprofessional not let someone know that you are running behind or are unable to do the scheduled appointment. I live 40 minutes from this business and had to pay a babysitter. All for nothing! I was really hoping for this to be a different experience given all the other positive reviews.

Yap just another 5 star review for Elise, no big deal. But seriously anyone who’s considering getting electrolysis should go to Elise. It’s totally worth the wait. I was put on her waitlist but wasn’t sure how long the wait was so I decided to see other electrolysis. And Elise is hands down the BEST. Not only is her technique the best (the least painful) she has such a great personality I actually look forward to my electrolysis sessions with her.

Soooo I can’t rave about this place enough, Elise is nice and caring and makes sure that you feel comfortable.
— On the consultation day Elise walks you through what electrolysis is and makes sure that you feel comfortable with the process and then she tests it on your skin for you to see how it feels and how you react to it.
–When you first walk in there is a sitting room with an array of magazines, as the office is shared with another lady who I believe does spa services (not positive on that though). The specific room that Elise she works with clients in, is very clean and comfy.
— Plus she has an online system that reminds you of your appointments and lets you book future ones (so if you’re like me and like to plan things out at 11pm when everything is closed then this is perfect for you)
— As far as parking goes there is plenty of street parking some metered some not.

I am so glad I have found Elise on Unilocal.I was searching for a local electrolysist since I discovered laser hair removal is not a permanent solution and I was wasting money at another local medical spa in Hillcrest.
I had a free 10 min session with Elise and 30 min consult to go over a plan. I needed to remove hair on my shoulders and back areas. I have gone at least 8 times over the past 2 years and still go for touch ups. Most of the hair I wanted removed is gone. I have had no issues and actually it’s not as painful as laser, not even close. I tend to have a higher threshold for pain anyway.
Sometimes it’s tough to book an appointment since her schedule is so booked, but when folks cancel and it falls into my preferred timeslot she always calls me to ask. I am normally ok with waiting a month or so for an appt since I don’t go that often. Also, payment is easy with Square. You also get a 5% discount if you book 4 or more sessions and the % discount increases with more session packages purchased.

Elise is considerate, kind, knowledgeable, fair, punctual and just an all around pleasure to work with. Although she is not taking new clientele, she is definitely worth the wait. I am a client of Elise, and just had to rave today about her service and treatment! The Salon is a lovely little jewel tucked onto Nutmeg Street; the ambiance and mood are cheerful and soothing. It is a haven! Elise is extremely knowledgeable, professional and kind :) Her spa is spotless & there’s always wonderful music playing. Elise is ‘master of modalities’ — I have some tiny ‘renegade’ places where the growth seems to persist after treatments. Elise carefully selects the best combination of pulse and intensity such that I have always been comfortable. Do yourself a favor and run, don’t walk to her salon! Good bye, waxing and shaving!!! What brought me here? I had my first laser hair removal treatment back when it was experimental in the mid-​90s. It was and is painful but has been very effective for my underarms, bikini line and most recently my legs. I have however had facial hair that was never fully treated even after 15 treatments from some 4 different providers over 15 years. I had the eyebrows that strayed and the dreaded ex that pointed out the caterpillar on my lip. As to the face I tried waxing but I always broke out badly and threading was ok. So for practical purposes that left me with shaving or depilatory hair removal cream. I finally had two thick gray chin hairs [I could stroke them] and decided to try out the 15 minute demo. Both gray hairs were gone and stayed away! (Emphasis there since laser hair can only go after colored hair.) I have seen Elise for 3×30 minute small follow-​up treatments on my upper lip, chin and eyebrows. For me this is as painful as laser hair removal near the upper lip, however, in other areas it doesn’t bother me too much. I do get red swelling so after the appointment I make sure not to have plans. I also occasionally get tiny scabs which heal in less than a week. On a positive side note my acne has started to clear which leads me to believe I may have been suffering from folliculitis. Elise is a wonderful professional.

Elise is awesome in so many ways…
– She’ll give you a free consultation and include 10 minutes of free electrolysis so you can decide if it’s somethign you can handle
– She is professional and educated… she even explains the science behind electrolysis so you know how it works and what to expect
– She has the best electrolysis machine out there which works fast and with less pain (had I known it wouldn’t feel that bad, I would have done this years ago)
– I never have to worry about her jipping me on time
– She is very clean and sanitary and her implements are sterile. I’m a licensed cosmetologist and I knwo what the State expects and Elise actually follows it – no cutting corners!
– She has evening/​night and weekend hours, so great for us 9−5ers
I’ve never been to anyone else for electrolysis and I’ve never felt a need to since Elise is everything I would expect and want from an electrologist. Go for the 7-​hour package. It’s the best deal and if it’s mroe time than you end up needing, you can always find more hair to zap. I went in for bikini but have had to convenience of getting plenty other stray hairs… think I’ll try armpits next!

I was very nervous to try electrolysis and did a lot of online research before I contacted Elise for an appointment. I love that she gave me a free consultation which included a thorough explanation of the process and a 15 minute demonstration where she actually did electrolysis on me. Elise put me at ease right away with her sweet, calming demeanor. I have since gone for 3 more appointments and they have all been extremely pleasant and relaxing, which sounds crazy because I am getting zapped while I’m there. The actual pain that I feel associated with electrolysis is akin to plucking, and since Elise is so skilled the whole process is fast and relatively painless.
For my treatment I have to partially disrobe and I have to say that I feel 100% comfortable doing this because Elise is such a professional. Like another Unilocaler who reviewed Elise I actually enjoy my appointments and look forward to seeing her again soon. I highly recommend Elise! Go for a consultation if you are hesitant, you have nothing to lose except that pesky hair!

I never thought in a million years that I would say this, but I actually enjoy going to my electrolysis appointments with Elise. I’ve been to a few other places and I always dreaded going, but, thanks to Elise, I don’t mind anymore and now I actually follow through with my appointments. To give you a breakdown as to why electrolysis with Elise is so great:
1. The treatments take place in a relaxing sanctuary that makes me feel like I am going in for a spa treatment. Plus, the bed is really comfy.
2. Elise has a sleek, modern machine that’s fast and cuts the time it took at other places in half.
3. Elise is reliable, professional and has a great personality. She explains everything very clearly and answers all questions thoroughly.
4. Everything is super clean. She always wears gloves and only uses brand new needles.
This is the first time in my life I have ever followed through with electrolysis appointments and now I am almost finished!!! If you’ve been wanting to go and haven’t found a good place or haven’t been brave enough, you should just call Elise, you won’t be disappointed!
