Erik’s Deli & Grill

Love, love this place! Excellent food and friendly staff. I always have to stop in for the grilled chicken souvlaki Greek salad whenever I work out in this area. I’ve tried similar Greek salads elsewhere and it just doesn’t quite taste the same. This is one item I can eat every day. It’s that good. I hear the other food items are good too but unfortunately I haven’t tried anything else.

Selected the restaurant from Unilocal reviews, the place was packed with the lunch hour crowd. Quick and friendly service. Good food choices, I was with a large group and all of us were happy with the choices we made. Staff acknowledged many of the regulars by name. If lived in the area I think I would be a regular.

Great food, great staff. Long lunch lines, but that’s because they are so good! Call and order ahead 15 – 20 minutes and it will be ready when you get there.

I love this place! Best tasting food in the area! Or maybe is it because there isn’t much choices in the area lol… Keep up good work

This was my second «last time.»
They are a rude, dismissive staff. Pre-​order and they’ll start it once you arrive, wait in line, then pay; wait again. I’m judging this by several visits. I’m no fan of a Greek salad that comes with one olive either (side salad). Nevertheless, the food is fresh and the restaurant is clean.
Go to Greek Corner Café a mile away instead, and get quality food and friendly service (I have no affiliation).

Today I decided to come here since the options around here are really not options. I walked in and there was no one ordering in front of me and the cashier was standing in front of the cash register. I stand a few feet away from the register to take a quick look at the menu. While I did this, I noticed that the cashier appeared to be reading something from her screen, so, I didn’t want to be rude and I gave her a minute. I then approached the register and she continued to read without acknowledging me. Gave her another minute. I did not get a «I’ll be with you in a second» nor a «one moment please». When she was finally ready, she looked up and gave me this look, like saying «what do you want?». She did not say a word. So I said I wanted a salad with grilled chicken and paused right there. She then again looked at me and after an awkward moment of silence she said «anything else». By this point I was already upset by her lack of friendliness and common courtesy. I said «oh, you can talk?, I wasn’t sure if you could talk or not because you were just staring at me». She then said something like I was reading blah blah blah”. I really didn’t care what she was reading, when a customer approaches you, it’s expected that you give them the attention they deserve. But hey, maybe It’s just me… The salad was good though, hopefully it didn’t get spit on because of what I said. BTW, I hope you read this cashier. Not satisfied with the service at all!

Was at another sandwich shop when the taste for gyros hit … serendipitously, ERIK’S was in the next plaza. Lamb pita + horchata = greexican delight! Slight error — requested no tomato, was replaced w/​lettuce — but the gyros was excellent nonetheless. Chili sauce side quite spicy … will remember this place.

Stopped by when in the area for work and both me and my two coworkers again that this was a great lunch. I got a gyro platter and it was excellent. Wish this place was closer as for the price and quality of food I would definitely like to go again.

Turkey Club — amazing! I keep wondering when I will run out of things to try on their menu; haven’t yet! Turkey club has great sourdough bread, toasted just right, soft enough to bite into and firm enough to hold the sandwich together. Lots of good sized bacon slices, perfect amount of avocado, Swiss cheese fits nice in the background flavor.

Limited choices as you get near border. Had a lamb gyro here. With fries and drink was 9 bucks. They had burgers and other sandwiches. I have had better. Was light on meat. Pissed me off that the peak ice tea machine was empty after i paid for a drink. They were clueless on how to refill. Orders were slow. You walk up to the counter to place your order. The people in front of me got their orders 10 minutes before me. The staff decided to concentrate on cooking and cleaning versus serving. Fries were cold.

Sat at a table with 8 people and everyone liked their meal. Spicy avocado burger tasty and spicy. I had Greek salad and lemon chicken, soup was good, the salad was yummy and huge portion for a small. Several at the table got the chicken platter and enjoyed it.

First timer here, this place should be on Diners, Drive-​in and Dives! Hands down, the best Tuna Melt in the country! And I travel the country all year. Make it a must go to place! The waitress was stunning!

Had a late lunch here, was on the area for business and wanted to grab a fast bite.
Was really concerned about trying a new place that I have not eaten at before or was recommend.
The food was fast and hot.
Only complaint I have is that they put the salad next to the hot items. Warm salad is not my thing. But the rest was great.
The place was clean and great selection on food.

I love the food but it’s WAY too over priced. They get away with it because it’s at the border and the border is non-​stop but anywhere else, it wouldn’t last. They probably would get double the business if they lowered their prices. Overall, friendly place, great food. Must try. I give it 3 stars for the prices!

In area for business, decided to try restaurant, excellent service and the Greek salad was awesome!

Worst Burger of my life. Go somewhere else or don’t get the burger.

Everything here is excellent, from the food to service quality to customer service. I bring all my Otay clients here for lunch. I highly recommend the Philly Cheesesteak with avocado. There is also a really fun & modern electronic soda machine with sodas and sparkling waters in different flavors.

I get lunch here quite often with co-​workers. Overall the food is delicious and the service is great, they did do delivery for a while but stopped and maybe started again. I’m not sure. I usually get the Turkey club which is awesome with jalapenos and comes with a great salad. There is some great outdoor seating and there is some odd shop across the parking lot always playing music so not so bad.
On the negative side… I will say in the past we have had some issues getting the Hummus dish. We have placed orders for it and came in to get it only to have it not available (ran out of Hummus). This has happened enough times now that when we call we ask for them to confirm stock of the stuff before we go down there.

Seriously, I am so glad Erik’s Deli & Grill is near the border. When you work near the border like I do, you don’t have a lot of food options and the few options that you DO have, aren’t very noteworthy. There are three places I frequent for lunch during my work days… Erik’s, Subway, and Wendy’s. I know. That just goes to show how very limited my choices are.
This place is always packed during lunchtime so if you don’t want a long wait, go before 11:30 and after 12:30. This place is always clean with a very friendly staff. The food is delicious and did I mention how glad I am this place is near my work? SO GLAD. The salmon platter is probably the most expensive item on the list but it is well worth it. Their grilled salmon are always perfectly cooked and the pita breads are always hot and soft. The salmon wrap is also good which is salmon wrapped in a wheat tortilla, filled with lettuce, rice, and sauce. Their grilled chicken salad are also delicious. Yes, everything on the menu is absolutely delicious compared to other choices in the area.
Go here if you’re in the area! Don’t go anywhere else.
