Love this grocery store! They have the best and cheapest section of beef. They just added a bakery and tortilla factory! So much in this tiny store but they make it work.

Love this place! Super friendly staff, even though I speak very little Spanish, huge selection of meat, amazing bakery case with bollitos at 8 for a buck!, fresh tortillas, and they have a deli/takeout area…

This place is a hidden gem for sure. The outside may look a little run down but they have great prices for meat, veggies and fruits. I would especially know because my husband has a degree in culinary arts and he has taught me a lot.

I love the little upgrades they’ve been adding throughout the years. It’s starting to look real nice! The primary reason I go here is for their tortillas. They have a ice box by the meat dept. Full of hot corn tortillas. And if you’re looking for flour tortillas, they too are hot and fresh in the bakery. The prices are always cheaper here but it’s because you should anticipate to eat the stuff TODAY. Especially the meat and fruit. Which is okay with me. I’ve been saving money buying like that. Buying the meals of the day and I’ve never gotten sick. I recommend their tacos at their food stand. And the chicharrones are yummy too. Never stale. I’ll also note: some friends of mine who are restaurant owners buy their meat and tortillas here. ;-) keep that in mind.

Fresh produce with half the price that you’ll pay up the street at Von’s! Marinated«red chicken» $ 2.25 a pound! I don’t know what it is but it makes some awesome grilled pollo tacos! Fresh bakery with homemade tortillas make them even better! Don’t be fooled by outward appearances or the location, these mom and pop places offer better quality food and service!

Really, four stars… no way… These guys are 5 Stars for value and flavor… I live in University Heights, Hillcrest area and will do the commute to pu food from these guys. It’s low budget and great taste must eat ASAP. The dinner packages are such a value. The 7.99 dinner package beans …(awesome)mmmmmm. Rice and a small chicken. De’lish. Carnitas as well. The salsa ‘s they’ve begun to sell are awesome. Very hot, the avocado salsa is super hot but still has flavor. Pico de gallo super hot so don’t consider it if you’re a wuss. Just so you know where I’m coming from, I am a huge fan of a Los cuatros milpas… this place is different but a better value.

This place has really low prices. When I go grocery shopping I usually go to multiple stores in one trip. But this usually would be the first one to hit because their low prices on meat. They also have low prices on fruit.

I get my w.I.c here. When you spend $ 35 in your w.I.c you can get 2lbs of carne asada, ground beef, boneless chicken or chicken with bone. But ask them about all the info. It is really helpful, the meat is one or two dinners for my family. The workers are really nice there. I don’t like that you can’t take the carts outside but sometimes in the ghetto people take them home or homeless keep them. So I understand plus they have help me sometimes take my groceries to the car. I live near Eastlake and drive down there once a month. Plus the .99 cents store is across the street.

It’s O.K. that I was ignored by the woman behind the hot food counter: I don’t need chicharones anyway.

San Diego’s best kept secret for a good and affordable burrito. When I first visited FFM in 2000, a carne asada burrito went for $ 2.59. Today, a whopping $ 2.99! You can’t beat that! For their burritos, they don’t make it until you order it and don’t charge you for guacamole, cheese, etc. They also give you a container of pico de gallo/salsa in case you want to give your burrito that extra kick.

This place is not for me. I appreciate their low prices. I like bargain hunting, but I encountered several problems. First, I can’t speak Spanish. I understand some of it. I asked the people who work their if they could help me with some stuff. They were so rude. They wouldn’t help me, and I asked if I can speak with their manager. Well, their manager came up to me, and I know some of the bad words that he said to me. All I asked him if the bananas were fresh, and that there are cockaroaches in the bananas area & flies in their meat section. They’re not friendly people at all. Secondly, when that place gets hot, it gets really hot. I notice that some of their refreshment prices do hike up during the hot days, and are stable during the normal or cooler days. So, I’m not sure what is up. Don’t buy the candies there. I found some candies to be moderately expensive. They sell the same type of candies in bulk at the 99 Cents Store across the street. Try a different store with fresher and cleaner(no stray bugs) produce. No wonder its cheap

This is a market that sells almost anything you need, but the BONUS is an inside rotisserie where you can get a whole chicken, 1 pint of beans, 1 pint of rice and toritllas all for $ 6.99. You can get different combos, all at a low price. Pre-seasoned carne asada and adobada! Time for a bbq! Their salsa that they sell is delicious too! They also have Mexican Candy — Lucas, Veros, Pulparindo… mmm.
