Fourth & B Concerts & Special Events

F.Y.I: 4^th & B is an older spot… but sorry to say this place is ghetto! I’ve always wanted to watch a concert here and I have seen a long line waiting to see different artists on quite a few occasions. I got a ticket to see Snoop perform on 4/20…and you know what that meant… there would be hellaaaaaa people smoking them trees! Honestly I was probably one of the very few people that has never smoked or I wan’t drinkin’ that night either… Shooooooot livin up to my «Top Dare Student» award, what what!
When I walked in the place was trashed… flyers and garbage were on the floor everywhere and the décor in the main entrance were covered with posters. The main room was a filled with people getting high… on music? hahahahaha… NOT! The dopest part of the venue was the wall with paintings of different artists and the display of different electric guitars.
The atmosphere of the venue felt like I was in an underground club and a scene from You Got Served was about to do down!
The ventilation was horrible but I mean what I should have expected it since everyone was doing you know what… The music was cool and it was good to hear hip hop for a change instead of that annoying fist pumping BS. Snoop was off the hoooook and I thought it was dope of him to do a little tribute to Nate Dogg (R.I.P).
Honestly, this event wasn’t for someone like me who doesnt smoke… It was cool seeing Snoop, but this venue does not suit my personal steez.
All in all… Snoop kept it gangsta and I loved hearing him perform the classics. Unilocalers «It aint no fun, if the homies can’t haaaaaaaaave none.»

The Venue itself is an older spot, basically just a big empty building with a stage. The sound was good, the base rattled threw my body. Snoop was awesome!!! First time seeing this fool, surprisingly enough, but it was a great show. Plenty of security to keep the crowd in order and everyone safe. The ventalation in the venue wasn’t the best, it got so hot and musty in there, but I guess that’s bound to happen with a thousand people under one roof jumping arround smoking all night. Over all great experiance, should have been there to smoke with Snoop with the rest of the fans.

I really love this place. I’ve only been to two shows here (Rev. Horton Heat and Ryan Adams) and aside the fact that they were both great shows, the crowd was great and the energy was fabulous. Of the smaller venues in the area, if someone I even vaguely want to see was playing here or at the Belly Up Tavern, I’d go just on the strength of the venue. There are places you expect great shows and places you don’t expect them. Expect a great show here!

Looking to host an event in downtown San Diego for 1000 — 1500 people? 4^th & B is a great choice. I worked for a private concert event over three days at this venue and really liked their house technical staff. Everyone was very laid back, knowledgeable, and worked really well with us and out performers.
The building apparently used to be a bank, and there’s a bar where the vault used to be. The place has tons of music history through the years.
The only thing to be care of when planning an event here, is that without people in it this is a big echoey box and the music won’t sound so great. It’s a huge, cavernous, space so it can hold lots of people… but if you just put 300 or so people in here, it may not sound the way you want it to.
