From Whiskers To Wags

Like any over protective fur mom I wouldn’t trust my kids with just anyone, and I know when Brittany is coming by, or if I leave my pups with her I have nothing to worry about. Brittany came highly recommended by my boss, both she and also her parents have had nothing but outstanding experiences with From Whiskers to Wags. I receive frequent updates and pictures and if I ever need to reach Brittany she is quick to get back to me. I can’t emphasize how much it truly makes me nervous when I have to leave my dogs, if it wasn’t for Brittany I don’t think I would be making many trips out of town. I am so glad to have found her and will be continuing to use her in the future. Thank you!

Let me start by saying I am a crazy dog mom who gets anxiety leaving my pit bull (Freddy). I found Britney on Unilocal,I was nervous at first leaving Freddy for a weekend. But Britney took great care of him, she sent pictures and checked in everyday. Britney was extremely trust worthy and dependable. I would recommend Britney for any one looking for a reliable, caring, dog walker and/​or pet sitter. Thanks Britney for all of your help.

I’m deeply saddened to have to update my raving review with our experience with Britteny.
We’ve known Britteny for over two years, and have always had a great experience, until this past visit. With my husband in law enforcement, welcoming someone into our home is a huge gesture, which shows just how much faith and trust we had in Britteny.
As we’ve happily experienced in the past, my husband and I hired Briteny to stay overnight at our home for two full «over night» visits, and take full responsibility of not only our home, but most importantly, loving care of our precious baby fur child, our dog Oscar for a promised 48 hours.
We checked in with Britteny everyday, and she was continuously encouraging that everything was going great! Not a hint otherwise…
We arrived home a little early than expected, and let Britteny know that we’d be home in about 10 – 20 minutes en route from the airport. Her response was a bit odd this time, as she replied «oh shoot. I didn’t expect you so early, the house is a mess. I left empty cans out and a dish or two, I was gonna clean it up before you got home.» My response immediately was «no worries!!! Thank you so much for all your love and help this weekend! Couldn’t have enjoyed myself while away without you!» … Still, nothing, nothing more mentioned…
We get home, open the door, and immediately enter into an aroma filled home of urine, and possibly feces. There, a windex bottle, and some towels that were used to clean, found in the dryer, and at least three areas of the house where Oscar had obviously gone to the bathroom, –were reluctantly fully cleaned up.
I was shaking. So confused and upset. Was Oscar sick? Was he left alone for 48 hours? How often was she even here?
My husband immediately contacted Britteny and asked her what had happened. Unfortunately when asked, she was not only reluctant to mention it, but was completely dishonest about the amount of accidents that had obviously occurred.
We have laminate planked hardwood floors, which have now bubbled and buckled in 3 major areas of the flooring throughout the house, of which the liquid puddled for obvious hours on end.
I keep trying to think of reasons of why this could’ve happened. Did she even stay over night? How long did she leave Oscar unattended? Why didn’t she mention it, or be honest at how many times this happened?
A trustworthy, truthful behavior would be to say, either, 1,) «hey guys, I’m so sorry to bother you on your trip, but Oscar keeps going to the bathroom, and I’m not sure why.» OR, 2.) «hey guys, I didn’t want to worry you while you were away, but Oscar had multiple accidents the past couple days.» None of these were her responses or offerings.
Another theory besides leaving my poor baby by himself for far too long, is that maybe, possibly, she had another dog in the house and Oscar might’ve marked his territory? Even then, three times? Enough for the pee to bubble and buckle our floors? To Shepard this theory, I specifically requested no doggie play dates, so this would’ve totally gone against my request. Or was it separation anxiety? For the first time in 6 years of his life? Could he react this way? But, still, why didn’t she tell us?
I really like Britteny, and again, trusting her with my baby is everything. So this happening, is mind boggling.
Unfortunately there is no reason I can assure myself that this won’t happen again. Oscar was left alone far too long, and Britteny was not forthcoming when asked directly. If she were to have been honest, present, and forthcoming, I would’ve gladly apologized to HER for Oscar making a mess! But this was not reality. She was blattently dishonest, and I have a heavy heart reporting this experience.
In addition, coming home after a long day of traveling to steam clean and sanitize our floors was the last thing we wanted to do.
I appreciate that Britteny has been very fortunate in her success with her pet sitting business here in San Diego. Maybe what has occurred is simply that she has too many commitments where our dog became neglected. Im so saddened that we can no longer move forward with this relationship.
To be candid, I am very surprised that she didn’t offer any more of her condolences, let alone the return of the $ 150 we paid her in advance for her services.
I am so sad that my baby was left alone for so long and I trusted Britteny was managing her time efficiently and lovingly when that clearly was not the case.
Extremely sad. ;(very upsetting.

What a horrible experience, I don’t usually write reviews on Unilocal but I do not want what happened to us, happen to other people who use Britteny. To our family our dog Oscar is everything and is treated like family (he has his own room and bed) so when we go out of town our first concern is his well being and comfort, and is the reason why we have a doggy nanny come over instead of bringing him to a facility. We have used Brittney a couple of times in the past, but usually use our neighbor who loves and adores dogs as much as us. However she was not available this time and we decided to use Brittney as she has done fine in the past and was someone who we trusted to stay in our house and watch Oscar. We returned from our trip a bit earlier than expected, as I was eager to get home and see Oscar I immediately was hit with the smell of urine when walking in my house. I noticed windex on the counter (not there when left) and then I noticed a very feable attempt to clean up a mess on the floor, this attempted clean up was in 3 distinct places in the house. My floors are wood laminate, and whenever a large amount of liquid stays in one spot of the floor there is a slight buckling of the floor joints. This was in 3 different places throughout a large area. I called up Brittney to ask why Oscar went to the bathroom 3 times in the house (Oscar is a 6 year old Boxer who we have had since 8 weeks old and is extremely disciplined potty trained and never has accidents in the house unless left alone for longer than 8 hours) Brittney replied he only went once and she forgot to mention it, during our more than daily checkups regarding Oscar. I told her I know he only goes to the bathroom if left alone for more than 8 hours, she said she was only gone for 2 hours and not sure why he went to the bathroom. If Brittney was upfront and honest with me and said yeah Oscar had multiple accidents as I was busy, or had informed us during our many check ins with her, I would’ve appreciated and respected her honesty. To let someone in to my house and care for a loved pet, one requires a lot of trust. Let alone the fact that she is compensated to stay over night at our house and care for Oscar. Brittney has broken that trust with us and it was a small price to pay to see someone’s true character and lack of integrity. I write this message because it sickens me to think how long my dog was left home alone that he had to pee 3 times in the house. I know I am not alone when it comes to how much I love my dog and I just would not want to see anyone else put there pets through this while they think they are being cared for.

We have a cat who is pretty mellow and friendly, but who also needs medication twice a day, morning and evening. We were going on vacation for a week. None of our friends have that kind of time, and the pet boarder we called was booked! That’s when we called Brit. She was located close by and had the experience we could count on to make sure Ollie got his meds. She also sent pictures every evening to show he was getting in some social time, too. When we got back, he was healthy and happy to see us. Not deprived or traumatized like when we’d boarded him at the vet, years before.
For a week of 2x /​day visits, her price quote was very reasonable, IMO. She will be the first person we call for our next trip.

Brit is so wonderful ! She always takes such great care of our Wheaten. She’s so knowledgable about animals too.
She’s super dependable and I know my dog is always in good hands when she’s taking care of her. I’m a crazy dog mom and I never worry with Brit!

Brittany has been a life saver. We are new puppy parents and as needed she cares for our girl in our absence. She is reliable, caring, and we trust her completely with the care of our puppy. It brings us so much comfort knowing that we can be away from home for an extended period of time and that our puppy will be in good hands. We are so glad we found her.

If you are looking for someone to love your animals then Britteny is where you should stop looking. She has been taking care of my dogs for many months now, and she displays the utmost professionalism and care. I trust her with my animals and she shows them as well as me every kindness. My animals are like my children so I understand the trust you have to have when someone is looking after them. Give her a try, and you will truly be happy with the outcome.

Britteny is exceptional, she has been helping us with our pets for months now and she always goes the extra mile. Like other pet owners, our pets are our family and knowing Britteny is there for them when we can’t be makes it easier for us to enjoy our time out of town when we don’t have to worry about them being taken care of.
Further to that, our pets get to stay at home where they are most comfortable, without having the stress of a kennel environment. We also really enjoy getting pictures of our girls going out for walks and playing with their toys while we are gone, Britteny really is great and we highly recommend her services.

Britteny is the best and the only pet sitter I trust with my two pups, a terrier mix and a pit bull mix. She always arrives on time and gives my girls a great work out! She also sends me cute updates with photos of them enjoying their walk. I go out of town every summer and Britteny always finds time to fit us in her busy schedule and her updates put me at ease while I am away! We are so lucky to have found her!

Too many great things to say! My dogs get walked 3 times a week. They love Britteny and I can tell she loves them back. She is incredibly accommodating to schedule changes. I love receiving her text updates after she walks my boys, and sometimes she surprises me with pictures too!

Britteny is honest, reliable and knowledgeable. We’ll confidently use her pet care service whenever the need arises. A plus plus.

It’s hard finding someone you can count on to help you with your pet when you are away, but Britteny makes everything feel so comfortable and relaxed knowing that Whiskey is in good hands. He’s a big dog and loves attention and I know that she definitely accommodates all of his furry needs while I’m away. She has a professional background and her services are awesome! If anyone were to need help with their pet while they’re gone, I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Britteny!

Brittney has been walking my little Schnauzer for over 6 months now and he absolutely loves her! She is so caring and attentive to my little guy. She walks him twice a week, every week and she is so accommodating to any changes that come up. She is very TRUSTWORTHY and I am confident when I leave for vacation, that she will take care of my house and dog.

Britteny has been giving my dog weekly walks for about 5 months. She has been wonderful. She truly loves what she does and she genuinely cares for pets. She’s very professional — she leaves daily notes after each walk and sends invoices via email. And on occasion she texts me pictures of my little guy on his walks. My dog loves her –his little ears perk up when I tell him she will be coming to take him out. Having someone I can trust with my dog and in my home gives me peace of mind. I’m so glad I found her.

Britteny is fabulous, fantastic amazing and my beloved dog and cat LOVE her and Sara! We travel a lot and have always been able to count on Britteny to watch and love our kids while we are away. She is caring, loving, and great with them. Not only has she pet sit at least a dozen times, but we had our dog on regular daily walks and play dates for months. Awesome all around!

We’ve lived in San Diego for almost 7 years now, and it has been about that long since our last vacation. This was largely in part to not having someone who we felt we could trust our 3 small dogs with. However, after meeting Britteny, knowing her professional background, and seeing that even my most shy Italian Greyhound loved her at the very first meeting, I no longer have to worry about who will take care of my boys next time I go on vacation. Britteny’s daily journal and notes of what happened each day, text messages, and photos of how the boys were doing was such a relief. I came home after a 7 day vacation with very happy, healthy, and well cared for fur kids. I recommend Britteny and From Whiskers to Wags in a heartbeat!

I was referred to Britteny by one of my friends and she is wonderful! Very professional, reliable, and my dogs LOVE her! She walks my dogs while I’m at work and babysits from time to time when I go out of town. She even leaves a daily log for me about her visits with my dogs. I’m so happy and relieved to have found someone who I can trust my babies with!
