Genies Car Wash

This place is horrible and they are very rude. I brought my truck in yesterday and when it was done there was mud on the fenders, wheels not wiped clean — soap stains all over-​they didnt vacum out the inside very much at all – trans still left in seats and when i told the manager this he said well those wheels have to be polished out-​i swiped the wheels with my finger which wiped off a ton of black brake dust to reveal a nice chrome finish – he then yelled in foreign language to his crew of guys to rewipe the truck down – hurry up hurry up and they still did a crappy job – he never would say sorry about that-​nothing just this stupid F you look on his face.

the most horrible car wash I have ever had. they had a special for $ 5.99 but I took the inside/​outside wash for $ 13.99 and expected something good. Well, they did not dry the car completely as it was still dripping. there was still mud in certain areas. when I opened the door the inside rim was still dirty. Anyway, I WILL NEVER GO BACK AGAIN. I really don’t recommend it. go to Soapy Joe or Costco. cheaper and better!

Wow this place has so gone downhill! They use to do amazing service. They didn’t even vacuumed the seats! There’s a place on university that for 25.99 your car comes out immaculate! Here for 20 bucks they won’t even touch the inside of your car what a joke! The only reason I came here my son had ta kwon do in the same parking lot. This place is awful. Their work is half ass. If someone opened a decent car wash in the area I’m sure they would have no competition. Waste of time (super slow) and even bigger waste of money! They are the only car wash in the area that how they get any Buisness.
Plus they use give rewards card now no way. Money hungry with awful work.

Still dirty after $ 400 complete detail.
Took my van in for a detail service few weeks ago. I was expecting to pay around $ 200 for the service. Owner here convinced me to do a complete detail package for $ 400 so I agreed. They asked me to come back in few hours, so I did. When I got there they were finishing up. Once they were done and before I made the payment, I inspected the car and they had missed at least 7 – 10 places (door sills not clean, inside of the center console not vacuumed, tire shine not applied evenly, black spots on the trim not cleaned properly etc). After I asked them to fix the problems, they promptly took take care of them. I paid at the cashier and game a generous tip to the detailer and came home.
Brought the car home and started to find more mistakes, at this point my wife came out and she also started to find problems. It took my wife and I another 30 minutes to clean what was missed by Genie Carwash employees. Pictures only show only sample of the problems, I wish was taking them from the beginning.
When you spend $ 400 (or $ 200/​hour) for a complete detail job, you expect better service and you should not have to spend additional 30 minutes of your own time correcting someone else’s mistakes. I have been taking all of my cars to Gennie for almost 10 years (thru multiple owners) as it is close to my home and its convenient. Now I cannot give this place any of my business for even regular car washes.

I need to say that my car looks AMAZING!
I haven’t had my car cleaned in over a year so it looked awful before.
My dashboard, steering wheel, and sides that I thought were grey is now shiny black. My carpets were covered in dirt, grass, ect. And now they look amazing.
My cup holders and center console had coffee spilled everywhere and they completely got it out.
I am SO beyond impressed!!! (:

The work done inside car was awful and dash board wasn’t even touched! When I brought it to someone’s attention (and even showed the people at the register pictures) every person had a «I don’t care» attitude and treated me as though I was the problem.

Today would have been my 5^th or 6^th visit to this place. Today is apparently a special day (coincidentally, there actually was a $ 5.99 special, but I digress). Today is the day where I was told «IT IS ON YOU SIR, IF YOUR VEHICLE GETS UNDER CARRIAGE DAMAGE» (for being too low) … hmmm, thats odd … no ones ever said that to me before. Maybe this guy is new? Heck, maybe their entire wash tunnel is new?!
For those of you wondering … per edmunds… the vehicle has 5.9 inch ground clearance,
. With the F Sport option springs, that brings it to 5 inches or more. PLENTY of room underneath, wether it be genie’s car wash tunnel, or costco, or some other competitors like «Donut Touch» off of Scripps Poway Pkwy (shameless plug: HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE) and that one car wash spot off of Sabre Springs near the taco shop … just fine and dandy.
Now, the last 4 or 5 times I checked … the car made it through just fine with no damage. And yes, I have indeed checked recently … I was under the car for an oil change. For continuity, I have owned this same vehicle for 3+ years, on the same wheels, same tires, on the same suspension. Also, why didn’t I get this warning on my first visit? Or my visits thereafter? Why on today, was I asked «have you been here before? same car? did you lower it/​change it?» Even after I explained to the kind gentleman that everything will be fine … he insisted 1, «IT IS ON YOU SIR, IF YOUR VEHICLE GETS UNDER CARRIAGE DAMAGE» and 2, «IT WILL HIT, IT WILL NOT MAKE IT THROUGH». Long story short, he really did not want me to be there and I obliged. Put the vehicle in reverse, and off I went. FWIW… I ended up spending that $ 6 on a carne asada burrito nearby … and it was well worth it.
My advice to customers considering going here … GO ELSEWHERE. You can get a better wash, with a much friendly staff.

Crappy job not worth the money! Better off going someplace else! You pay for a full deluxe wash and they forget to turn on the wax, if u don’t watch them you don’t get what you paid for!!!

I can’t tell you how the carwash actually would have been, because I didn’t get it. On a day, where there was literally no one in line, the salesman told me they would only vacuum the inside of my car. If I wanted any dashboard or center console wipe down it would be an automatic extra $ 45. He was clear that this was not detailing either. Steep rates and unreasonable for the area. I’ll take my business elsewhere

I regularly get my care detailed here. They are friendly, courteous, and the environment is clean. The service is reasonable.

Worse car wash ever. I got in my car and there was a skittle on the seat… how did they miss that? Said they would vacuum trunk and didn’t, inside of car wasn’t vacuumed well. They barely wiped down the inside, still kid residue you know ice cream, etc. and I promise it isn’t like my car was «dirty» it basically need a wipe down inside and you could clearly see where it needed attention would of taken 5 minutes for them to wipe the cup holders and middle console down it looked like they didn’t even touch it. They do get busy there but they weren’t busy at all this day and still did a crap job. NEVER GOING BACK. I don’t think I have ever had such a disappointing car wash.

Really really slow, and made worse by a rude owner/​manager.
I arrived with only a handful of cars in front of me. Half an hour later my car was still not though the machine. When I pointed this out to the owner he was argumentative and simply tried to prove and show me that no cars went ahead of mine. He just kept repeating «we’re busy…» No apology, zero people skills. Loser car wash. Avoid at all costs.

I received a coupon in the mail so I decided to try the full service wash for $ 8.99. I’m not sure why they advertise as a full service because they run it through the wash, very quickly dry the outside and move their hand back and forth as if they are vacuuming. When I began to wipe the outside of the care the manager came out and said I had to leave because more cars were coming out of the wash. I mentioned that I needed to clean the car and he literally could care less. That is crazy.

I purchased a full car wash. Exterior wash quality was ok but they left the wheels dirty.
After I was called to pick up my car I looked inside and noticed that interior was not even close to be clean. I pointed it out to one of the employees but he said that they were busy and pretty much just walked away. So, I end up vacuuming the car myself.
Overall, very dissatisfied with the quality of work! Never coming back!

I will never come back. I paid $ 20 for them to not even wipe down the inside of the car. I had to ask for a rag to clean it myself. The guy also couldn’t find my keys. How do you lose keys??? The tires were never done either and the Windows were streaked. So horrible. The only reason I didn’t have them redo it was I had to pick up my kids from school. I do not recommend this place at all.

Exterior car wash was good but the interior cleaning stinks! I used a $ 5 off coupon luckily –hurt was $ 8.99. Rear window inside, center console cup holder, rear mirror were not cleaned very well. Floor mats, door rests and side pockets still had debris.
I complained to the lead man, they re-​vacuumed and wiped the center console. Center cup console still not clean.

I’m not sure what the bad reviews are all about. I’ve been coming here since they changed ownership a couple years ago and changed the name (way better than the last too btw, I went there a couple times and very unsatisfied!) The girl behind the register so polite and very cute. The same guy always writes me my ticket so he knows me. They’ve detailed my truck, I’ve gotten the full hand wax job and usually get the deluxe washes! Buy them all in books and save big… that’s my tip!

Brought my car here for a interior detail, they didn’t even wash the car properly, rear bumper still dirty, water spots all over, completely forgot to clean the dash area. Overall LOUSY work.
Pathetic customer service, rude staff, especially the cashier girl. For sure PQ deserves a better car wash.
People, please save your money and time and go elsewhere.

This place is right down the street from where I live. I used to always come here for a car wash but I will NEVER come back here again. I got my car washed here last week and a few days later, I realized that my cup holder divider was missing. People working here should have an honesty policy and obviously they don’t.
Save yourself the trouble and just go to Touch of Class by target. They’re cheaper anyway.

Just took our cars (wife’s and mine) to this place for the first time. It’s down the street from us so I wanted to try them out.
I removed just about everything from the inside of the cars prior to going there. Just to prevent any possible issues about missing things and so they can clean the inside without any obstacles.
We got the basic vac/​wash. They did a decent job. Outside was clean. Inside door panels were wiped down. Windows (inside/​out) were clean. Vacuum job was good enough; didn’t really get under the seats or cracks but you would have to look for that. If you do a quick glance, it looks clean. Nothing was missing; coins were still in the tray…
I read a review where they failed to vacuum… They didn’t vacuum my wife’s car trunk but they vacuumed mine. I opened my trunk so they would know to vacuum my truck but closed my wife’s trunk when we took out the baby stroller. I don’t know if it’s a policy thing but I think that’s why they didn’t vacuum the trunk. But it was just a simple request afterwards and it was promptly taken care of. So I would suggest to leave doors and trunk open if you want to have them vacuum.
Another review made a comment about tipping. I didn’t notice a tip line when we paid with a debit card. Luckily I had some cash but not enough to really leave a decent tip. So take some cash if you want to leave a tip. The guy that hands you the keys does seemingly wait to be tipped. And as soon as he walks outside, it seems that’s the first question from the other workers is «how much did we make in tips»; tho that’s my guess since they spoke their native language. Some places have a «mailbox» where you just deposit the tip. I didn’t see one at this place, so there is slight pressure to tip the guy when you get your keys.

New name! New owners! New attitude!
No yogurt. No dry clean. No shortage of workers to help dry or detail your car.
Just a no-​frills, quality car wash and vacuum.
I’ve noticed the abundance of higher-​end, luxury autos waiting in line. It seems these more-​affluent types know what’s up? The folks from nearby Carmel Valley, Torrey Hills, Rancho Santa Fe, Scripps Ranch and 4S Ranch are making this their go-​to place to spiffy-​up their hoopties?
In my opinion, the $ 20 Deluxe Wash is the best value. Not too expensive but a great value for what you get in the deal. Yes, you still get a choice of car fragrance after you pay your bill.
The dudes drying your car seem to take their time and pay special attention to the details. The wifey and I were so impressed, we tipped them a couple dollars more than we usually do. The place gets plenty busy on the weekends and the parking lot can get packed solid. Keep your head on a swivel when trying to get out to the street.
I’ll be back soon but I’ll wait until it stops raining.
