HORRIBLE SERVICE! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
I scheduled a mechanic to come out and service my garage door 3 days in advance. 1 hour into my scheduled repair time, I receive a call that the mechanic is out sick and they re-​schedule for two days later. Mechanic failed to arrive during the re– scheduled time and no one from the company will answer my calls.
They deserve ZERO stars!

If I could do zero stars I would! Don’t waste your energy here. This people probably half to change their name constantly to stay in business

One star is too much. They were offensive to my clients. Can’t fix it first time then they charge for the second visit. Call anyone but them.

Stay away from this company! I had someone come out and give me a quote for an automatic driveway gate. The technician quoted $ 3,100 for the cost of labor along with the driveway gate and motor. I was happy with the price so I preceeded to write an $ 800 deposit check. I was told everything would be done in a week. 4 weeks later, no work has been done and the deposit check was cashed. I’ve been trying to call the company for weeks but their 1 – 800 number was no longer working. So I decided to call the owner and he refuses to pick up my calls! I’ve written emails, left voice messages and still… no response. I am now in the process of taking them to court.

If i could give them a zero star, I would. Stay away from this company. They are not thorough with their work. They left the old garage parts and didn’t take it to dispose. Their wrench was left on top of the garage door motor. We had to keep calling them back to fix their work. The garage door won’t close all the way. We paid over 1k for an installation you would think that they would’ve done an awesome job. They had to come back 3x to fix their own work.
Stay away.

The person who installed the opener could have killed a small child because the sensors which are to be put along the edge of the doors in order to monitor whether or not someone could be hit by the door were instead taped together on the top of the machine. I called this guys, they are awesome…
I had an issue with garage door keep opening up… Talked to Shalom, and he instructed me of how to take care of it myself without anyone to come out,
He did some trouble shoot over the phone with me, and problem was solved right away. Was a great service, and did not even charge me for it… Great service!!!

They are an awful company and ripe you off. This is the second time we have used this company and we thought we would receive a good deal since we were returning customers and they actually charged us double. Not to mention I repeatedly emailed them for a final invoice and they never responded to my emails. I then called and spoke to the owner about the price and he said he would look into it and get back to me and he never has

I have been trying to get a quote for 3 weeks and last week I called almost every day with the assurance I would receive my quote. Finally and for the last time I am tired of being lied to, I even talked to the receptionist after 5pm today she told me that they would be opened until 6pm. If you didn’t want to or don’t have the quote then don’t waste my time this is the poorest service I have ever seen.

We were quoted $ 79.00-$ 179.00 over the phone for a broken garage door spring. Once the guy came out he told us our garage door was insulated and heavy and would cost more. He also told us we needed a new cable. The repair costs shot up to $ 450.00. We feel cheated and ripped off. No one asked over the phone if my door was insulated or notified us that it was possible of a price increase. We will NEVER use this company again. I wish I had read reviews on this company before using them!

Quoted $ 79-​$ 179 over the phone to fix a broken spring. When the guy came out, the first thing he said was something about how it wasn’t what he was thinking it was. It was a broken spring but he said that this spring would cost $ 421 to fix. Sure. After talking to my husband he came down to $ 349. He also tried to say we needed a new motor. Shady, shady, shady.
We had the work done only because of convenience and they would have charged $ 25 for the quote. If only my husband would have checked Unilocal first, we would have never even called this company. Hopefully, their work holds up.

This is truly a company that should be put out of business! About 6 weeks ago I had a problem with my garage door that needed immediate attention. After a few calls this company said they could come that day. They didn’t, but came early the next day. I should have followed my gut and told them to leave and just paid the service call. I knew the prices they were quoting me were ridiculous! But, I really needed the door fixed so paid the price — they are fast talkers and scam artists! I was given a 5 year warranty for the new opener. Last week the same problem started occurring again so I called them to come out. They promised to be there that day so I changed my schedule and sat all day waiting for them. Around 4 pm I called to ask where they were and was told they were sorry they would contact someone and send him right out. No one came, no one called. So, the next morning I started calling again. This time they would not take or return my calls! I got another company to come out and they were appalled at the workmanship and price I had paid. They said I should contact a consumer affairs organization and report them as he had heard stories about them before and felt they should be put out of business for unlawful practices. I agree!

I also bought the LivingSocial Deal for $ 39. Before they came out, the door stopped opening. The repair man — who by the way spoke English with such an accent that I could not understand him — showed where it was fixed. He said (and this is what it sounded like he said) $ 200. The repair took 20 minutes and used 2 pieces of metal bracket and 4 large screws. The bill was $ 350. Then was told I needed a new door. Not surprising since the thing broke. He was willing to apply only $ 150 of the repair price to the door. It made his door the same as other companies and they have a better rating. Guess who I WON’T BE USING. Check the BBB or Angie’s List. You will find better rated companies that honor their coupons.

GSM gives real garage door repair companies a bad name. At this point, I almost think they just come out to collect their $ 39 fee for their estimate, with no real intention of repairing anything. Their estimate was so off the charts high to replace a spring that costs 20 cents, that I thought they were kidding. I could see the guy was just throwing out a number, based on what he thought I’d be willing to pay. Oh yeah– the guy was Shalom, the same guy named in the other reviews.
First he quotes me $ 275. Then he says he can fix it for $ 250. I called the company and spoke with a guy out in the field, who said he could lower the price to $ 200. I said there was no way I was paying them $ 200 to install a part that cost less than a dollar and would take 2 minutes to complete. They just kept coming back with «it’s what we think the market price is».
Well, I should thank them for their ridiculous estimate. I got the job done for $ 10, not counting the $ 39 that GSM charged me for their «free estimate».
This outfit is simply a bunch of shysters, seeing what they can get away with. I wouldn’t trust them to fix my mailbox, let alone a garage door.

What A RIP OFF !! garage door stopped working on Dec 22, so I google local places that service my area. Unfortunately, I did not read reviews first to see this page. They sent someone right way, though I told them if would wait until after Christmas. The guy arrived, push the button, pushed on the door, and told me that my opener was broken and he couldn’t fix it. (REALLY???) Said he had to put in a new one and probably and probably a new door. I asked to see info on the products the company used. He dug around in his truck for awhile, but, could not provide any. There were no choices. I asked for a written estimate of the just the opener and one with the opener and the door. He said «ok» 4 different times, but never provided me with one. I told him I couldn’t buy anything from him if I didn’t know what I was buying or have a it in writing. He told me I still needed to give him a credit card number to pay for the «service call» WHAT SERVICE? I gave him the number to make him go away, because he wasn’t going to leave otherwise and was creeping me out. By this time he had also propositioned me to do the work «under the table» without the company for substantially lower price, but he didin’t know how much. Said he would hold onto my order and call me next week. I was shocked and said nothing. I am hoping he doesn’t call.
After he left I called the company and told them what had transpired. A very rude woman told me that the guy was new and didn’t know anything.(gee thanks for the great SERVICE and knowledgable employees)…that what did I expect when they were working with a skeleton crew on Christmas (said I could have waited) .THEN she said there is no way she would refund my service call, but she would email me an estimate and if I paid right away for the order she would deduct the service call from the cost of the the replacement. Would YOU buy from a company that had just treated you this way? The entire experience was unnerving and completely shady. I called Home Depot and got a great garage door opener, at half the price, installed. Don’t Use GSM !!!

I recently had a problem with a garage door that would not work. This garage door was for a customer of mine. I looked up on Google for a local garage door service company in or near El Cajon CA. I came across GSM Garage Door and asked them if they could help me with my problem. I told them that the garage door was for a customer of mine and that I would need help fixing their garage door. I told the receptionists that I would not be on site, so the technician would have to call me while he was on site to give me a free estimate on what it would cost to have the garage door fixed. I told her that my customer would not be paying their company, and that if they needed payment to call me about the price. I gave them both my cell number and my office number so they could get a hold of me right away. The day of when they were supposed to go out and give me an estimate, I received a call from my office because my customer was upset because the technician from GSM was asking for a credit card for service that he rendered. According to my customer, the technician gave her a price of $ 65, then told her that it was going to cost $ 150, then changed the price again and told her that the price would be even more because he didn’t have the part on his truck. I was very upset that after I had given specific instructions to not talk to my customer about payment and to call me, that they still went ahead and did it anyway. When I got back to the office, I called GSM and spoke with the owner who was named Shalom. I asked him to help me out and he said that I would have to talk to the technician Alan. After talking to Alan, he told me a price and told me that he had no instructions to call me about the price or payment. I then called the owner back and asked him what he was going to do to fix this problem, and he told me that there was nothing that he could do. He said that the price that was given to me was the best price. I then told him that it wasn’t a matter of price as much as it was the way that it was handled and how he was not willing to do anything to make his customer happy. He even admitted that they were wrong, but said that it wasn’t that big of a deal. I told Shalom that I would be willing to even pay twice as much with another company, because customer service is always more important to me than a price. I will never use GSM Garage doors again, and I suggest that you don’t either.

I am a female who had broken springs. Called these guys up and it was fixed. A month later it stopped working and i called the guy up again. COmes over and says i need a WHOLE new unit for 545 bucks! After i just spent 250. WTF?! and tells me i cant use the garage door anymore or else it will tear off the ceiling. called socal garage doors and the problem was fixed for the price of 45 bucks:)
SO I WILL NEVER USE GSM again. Maybe he thought he could take advantage of a young female homeowner.
