This is quite possibly the worst primary physician I’ve ever encountered.
My family members have to gone to him with pneumonia and he’s done nothing for them. His office staff, while polite, are completely inept. We’ve waited for weeks to get blood pressure medication prescribed, called in to wrong pharmacies, not covered under our insurance. We’ve waited months for referrals, that we negotiated with the insurance on our own, because this office weren’t capable of handling.
The true shame of the situation is that this Dr. took over a practice of a truly capable physician and there are probably multiple families that will put up with this level of «attention», because of the hassle it is to switch.
I, for one, have finally reached my breaking point.

Every person who works there are extremely nice, but they have awful customer service. They seem to be always over worked with not enough staff. The place does not seem to be too busy, but the doctor’s assistants are making careless mistakes.
They answer the phone without announcing the doctor’s office. They put you on-​hold for a long time. They also don’t notice the order of appointments. I waited for an hour and the person that came after me got called in first, and that was only because one of the assistants was too in a rush to put a face to the name on the chart.
The doctor however, is very professional and fast. I think the staff slow him down a little.

I have been a patient of Dr. Tim Gurtch for at least 8 years. I found him very knowlegable, professional and caring doctor, he literally saved my life a couple of times, when I had kidney stones and ulcer. The office staff is also knowledgeable and pleasant to deal with. I read reviews on Unilocal about doctors other small businesses.
I was quite surprised by the comment of Mrs. Victoria K. about Dr. T.Gurtch. She stated that she has visited Dr. T. Gurtch at Alvarado location. How was she able to do that when Dr. Gurtch has not been practicing at Alvarado location since 2002!!!
I believe this is one of the reviews that is written by sham patients (and customers) who, for a certain reimbursement, write bad reviews about doctors and other small businesses. Those doctors and business owners are later contacted by attorneys offering cervices to «restore» their damaged reputation”. I think Unilocal should be more careful by publishing uncofirmed sources, especially on the locations that no longer exist.
I would advice Dr. T. Gurtch to contact the attorneys and file a slander law suit against Victoria K. I strongly recommend Dr. Gurtch as a Family Doctor. He is the BEST.
