I really don’t understand the reviews here. It was the worst haircut I have EVER had. My hair is totally uneven. Very unprofessional. I am very disappointment for trusting Unilocal reviews this time. Will never be back again.

I decided to try David because I’ve been working downtown and haven’t had time to go to my regular guy. Skeptical I would find another «go-​to» hair person, I went for a haircut today and I am so glad I did. David deserves five stars without reservation. His booking system is very convenient, you can go to his website and do an online booking, get a confirmation, reminders, the works. When I went to my appointment, he was very nice and professional. He definitely listened to my concerns about my hair and gave me a haircut that was a better version of what I had before. My hair feels and looks amazing.
Another reason why he gets five stars from me is that he is such a kind soul. David was so pleasant and caring. He seemed very genuine, I felt instantly comfortable having him work on my hair. I am having him do color next time, he has earned my trust in just the one visit. Definitely recommend him.

David is the best!!! I used to go see him in North Park and followed him to his new location in downtown. That’s how amazing he is. He always does exactly what you want, makes suggestions and styles your hair fabulously after. He also has the best Groupon offers. I definitely recommend him.

Being new to the area and not knowing anyone, I was a little hesitant and dredged having to start over with a new hair designer. Waiting until I was completely desperate, I did a quick local search and found David… Right here… On the bottom floor of my apartment building. My first thought was… Well, how convenient. Then, I met him and knew I was in the right chair. I gave him complete control… All I said was…
I’m 51 but I feel like I’m 21 but sadly, my face doesn’t agree. So, I need an age appropriate hair cut, with a little sass, to fit my face. David nailed it. I’m still not 21 but I’ll take 41. And now, I don’t look like I’m actually trying to be 21. Lol.

Been meaning to write this review ever since this past December when David saved the day. It was a Sunday evening and all the other salons in town were closing… even the ones with Unilocal accounts that said they were open. He had already left the building but took our call and then came back to accommodate the emergency haircut we needed for my partner who had court early the next morning. He gave a great short haircut and beard trim and was a pleasure to work with.

David M is Fabulous! I was new to San Diego, and had been going to the same hairstylist for many many years in a different city. Traveling 4 hours each way to get my hair done got old, Fast!!. It was extremely important to me to find a great stylist, who knew what they were doing, and had a great personality! I found all that in David M. His work is flawless. He recommends things that he thinks you will be happy with, but also follows your lead if that is what you want him to do. He is very knowledgeable about color, and knows his products, but has never pressured me to buy products. I like that! In all the times I have gone to him, he has never been late nor overbooked. I have had his full attention every time. That is really important to me. Even though I loved my former stylist, she was always overbooked and working on two or three people at a time. David has never done that. He is a Master at hair cutting too! I very highly recommend David M ~

David is awesome! I now only ever go to him to get my hair done. He does a magical balayage. He takes his time and knows how to add the right color. He is so passionate about his work and it shows. I have gotten a number of compliments for my hair. Also, David is a lot of fun to talk to. I highly recommend.

David is the best! I was recommended by a friend after I asked where she got her amazing ombré biolage color done. He does an amazing job with blonde highlights! I’ve gotten a partial and a full from David before, and both highlights were flawless and natural looking! Just what I wanted, and I’ve kept going back!

David is a FIERCE hairstylist. I was recommended to David by a co-​worker. I remember one time when my co-​worker was out of town and needed to get her hair done by a different stylist, and the result was a complete disaster. She immediately scheduled an appointment with David when she was back in town and showed me the results – it was effortlessly sultry! David obviously has talented hands.
I usually just have short hair, but David had a vision for me and we grew out my hair under his care and cautious cuts, and now I have a high-​fashion cut that have gotten me more than a few looks at parties. I walk into the room and all eyes are on me. Everyone compliments me at work on how sleek my hair looks. I feel so much more confident thanks to David’s artistry. Try to book your appointment well in advance as his schedule fills up quickly due to high demand. But don’t worry, he will try his best to work you in. He does both men’s and women’s cuts.
