Very happy overall. From the first call to the final board going up. Allen was clear in each step from the beginning. He came out provided a written estimate and was clear on what was and was not included, when he could start, what might cause delays, etc. He was not the lowest of them all but was within a few hundred (and well worth the quality). Overall the fence (board over board) looks great and is getting good feedback from our neighbors. I strongly recommend him and his crew

Had a good experience with HD Fence. I had a small job to add a gate to a section of chain link fence; Allen showed up promptly to take a look, he was friendly and knowledgeable, and he agreed to take on the job even though it would be priced below their usual minimum job. The work was done promptly by a hard-​working guy who replaced the whole section of fence, dug new posts, etc. I’m pleased with the quality of the work and will call these folks again if I need fence work.

I was very happy with my experience with HD Fence from start to finish. Allen was prompt and friendly when we met for the bid. His proposal came in as the most competitive price. He was able to mobilize his crew quickly and they installed three great fences and two gates for me. When I requested a modification to my fence, they were there the very next day to take care of it for me. I will absolutely be using HD Fence in the future.

I highly recommend HD Fence. I had been trying to install a fence off and on for about a month. It was not pretty and I needed it done right. Alan and Joan gave me a reasonable quote and his very professional crew got the job done in 5 hours. I will not think twice of using HD Fence if I need more fence work done.

I got a quote from HD Fence based on the other positive reviews from Unilocal to do a small back fence and 3 gates for my rental in San Diego. They weren’t the lowest bid but very reasonable so decided to use them. They did an excellent job and my wood fence seems sturdy, only a few years will tell for sure.
The only reason I didn’t give them 5 stars is they didn’t put a handle on my 3 gates. I have had many gates built in the past and the contractor always put an attractive, heavy duty handle on the gates making them easy to close. When i asked Allen for handles he said he had some and would put them on. He did put some on but they are the cheapest, lightest weight handles I have ever seen for a gate. Had I known they would be so flimsy I would have bought some nice heavy duty ones and left them there for his crew to install.
The also forgot to put one of the holes & string on one gate to open and started the job a day later than planned. The delay in start date didn’t bother me since Allen kept me informed ahead of time and the reason.
I am an experienced renovator, having had several gates & fences built in the last 10 years so it didn’t bother me much that when I met with Allen at my rental property he was very rushed and we really didn’t discuss everything in detail, this might bother a first time user. I would just ask him to go slow and go over everything.
Yes I would recommend him and use him again.

This is my second time using HD fence. They have done all my backyard fence renovation. They stand behind their work and answered all our questions to our satisfaction. Allen worked with our schedule and was a pleasure to work with. We feel he is very honest person and is willing to go the extra mile. We had received multiple quotes and HD fence always came in with the right price. He has done all the fence we have so unfortunately it will be a long time before we will need HD fence again but will always refer them.

Love this company! They showed up on-​time and on-​schedule. They gave a fair honest quote and were able to make great suggestions in areas we were unsure of. They have very competitive prices and earned our business with their outstanding customer service. We are SOOOO happy with our new fence. TOTALLY RECOMMEND!

Joan and Allen were super friendly and prompt. I had to replace a fence between my neighbor and I. Our fence was easy to deal with. However, my neighbor also wanted to replace her other fence and she had to deal with some troublesome neighbor. Joan and Allen were able to help communicate with those troublesome neighbors of hers and got the job done in a day. The replacement work were super quick and it was quality work.

This owners are friendly and quick to come out for an estimate. Unfortunately they did not estimate what I asked and they were more than double what 2 other fence companies quoted. As a result I do not recommend HD fence.

When looking for a fence to be installed at my new house, I contacted a couple different companies for quotes. HD fence was the only one that actually called me back to schedule an appointment for an estimate. They arrived on-​time, and were very knowledgeable about the product they are selling. The new fence looks great! And I will be contacting them in the future when its time to replace the fence on the other side. Thank you HD fence!

Needed to replace and old weather beatin wooden fence, HD came to my rescue. Great group of people to work with, and they care about the job and outcome.

HD Fence — Call these guys! I needed a fence like many of you looking on here right now. I called several companies; some came out and others gave insane prices. OK mind you I have a difficult slope in my back yard especially for the fence I wanted. This did not dissuade Alan in the least, like it seemed to do with others. He gave me a very reasonable quote. Who knew vinyl was cheaper than wood for what I wanted too?
When it came time to get the job done he was prompt, honest, on time and went above and beyond. We had some issues (not his fault) because of the degree of slope in the yard. He kept the lines of communication open throughout the job keeping this new home owner at ease. Alan and his crew worked that nasty slope in sticky mud with some really grumpy neighbor dogs to get the job done.
Price, value, honesty and attitude are A++. If you need a fence done, call these guys. The workmanship is excellent! I have a couple more fencing projects to accomplish and will be calling HD Fence again! I suggest you do the same.
In the end, I have a beautiful fence and what I paid doesn’t keep me up at night. Thank you Alan and crew! We will be talking soon.

We need a lot of new fence work on our property and we called a couple companies to get quotes. HD was the first company to call us back and came out to give us an estimate. Very friendly, honest and straight forward pricing from a husband and wife team… We scheduled install for 2 week from then. Today they installed our fence in one day and I can say I’m very impressed at the quality and speed. If you are looking for a honest, simple and quality fence company this is your guy. Now we are already talking about other fence projects. Highly recommended.

Found HD through Unilocal and very glad that I did.
Allen showed up to the first meeting for the estimate on time and took the time to walk me through exactly what he thought would work best.
The quote he gave me for a vinyl fence turned out to be less than a quote I got from another company for a wooden fence.
Even though it took me over a month to get my act together and commit to getting this work done, Allen was prompt to respond to me when I was ready and was out within a day to reconfirm what I wanted and get the contract signed.
On the day the work was to begin his guys showed up on time and quickly got everything started. They were able to work around some challenging architectural feautures of my yard and were very professional. I was shocked when I left my house to go to the gym and returned at 6:30 to find them STILL WORKING. When have you ever seen a contractor hanging around a job at 6:30 when they started at 8?
I would highly recommned the comany to anyone and everyone I know who has seen my house before and after the fence comments on how much better it looks now thanks to HD’s work.

This company is co-​owned and operated by a man who may very well be the most honest and ethical fence and wall-​building expert in the entire region. When I say expert, I mean this company’s work is straight, true and esthetically easy on the eye. As a lay person who has had the opportunity to see a number of these jobs (and have already recommended HD Fence to others), I can’t say more about this excellent operation — or the people who run it.
