Hertz Rent A Car

Just rented yesterday and the young girl at the counter totally helped me and got me a really neat car! She walked me out to show me choices and was super fast with my contract. I look forward to working with her again.

Vile people. Take the shuttle to another car rental place. First they claimed I went 11 miles — when I told them they were lying they then said well how far did you go? And then said I had to pay when I showed them I only went 2 miles. Luckily Toyota San Diego is stand up and took care of it but they need to evict this car rental place.

hey deserve 0 stars. THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER IN RENTING A CAR. My experience stared off when I called into the 800 to make my reservation… I requested a car at a specific time and it was not reserved correct when I talked to Cory at the 800 #. Then I was given the wrong car and was over charged for insurance and when I tried to explain that to the manager her resolution was to give me a dirty care that had no gas in it. We went back and forth for over an hour and then I was forced to take the original car I didn’t want because it was the only one ready that did not make it to my destination and the oil light came on. I was then forced to take the car for an oil change and pay for the oil change out of my pocket which I do not feel that I should have had to do being that it is not my car. I own a truck, car and Harley and if I wanted to do an oil change I would have not rented a car. The only other option I was given was to be towed to Vegas which was an hour and a half drive and then I had to drive back to my destination. When calling to talk to Hertz I had to make over 44 phone calls and held for 15 to 30 minutes at a time. I was on vacation trying to enjoy my Grand Son’s 2^nd birthday and meet up with my 3 God Children while on this vacation. My God Children had to meet me at the Big O tire shop because that’s where I was when they got to town from driving in from Wyoming because I had to get the oil change. This was my worst experience ever with renting a car. There was a lot more that went on that was just unacceptable. I have left several reviews and calls to customer service and have yet to receive a call back and it has been over a week.

Don’t rent from hertz. I was renting a car for two month from them when I renturn the car I forgat big packege in the trunk in, after couple hours the couldn’t find in. And the car never been rented after me. Its the second time that they still my stuff

Worked with Britney today to pickup my rental and she once again made it it quick and easy… in and out in about 10 minutes… very convenient to have this location right inside the dealership. …they understand that our time is important… great job Britney keep up the great work… thanks

I rented a vehicle from this location, and today I locked my keys on accident in the trunk. I called this location to see what they can do to help. They said they «would call me back by the end of the business day» because it was very difficult to look me up since all of the info for the rental was in the car. So I called Hertz roadside directly and they were able to look me up. During the conversation they informed me that I didn’t have insurance on the car, even though I requested this upon taking the vehicle. So I called this location back 4 times and got the voicemail 4 times. Terrible service.

Not even worth one star! This was a horrible and trying experience. We were having our car repaired across the street at the Honda dealership. They (the dealership) were paying for the rental and sent us over with paperwork to get the rental car.
Upon presentation of my driver’s license and a credit card, the «clerk» (young rude female) advised me that she wasn’t sure she could rent the car to me because my license had been «tampered» with. My license was intact and I don’t believe I look like a crook (I’m a 72 yr. old retired psychologist!).
I protested and she continued to try to contact a supervisor with her «concern» (she dialed two or three numbers without success) and finally left the desk to «check with her supervisor «. She returned 10 seconds later and told me she couldn’t rent a car to us.
I returned to the dealership and they sent me to a nearby Enterprise rental agency where we rented a vehicle with no delay.
There was another man waiting behind us at the Hertz counter who shared multiple complaints with us.
SAVE YOURSELF THE FRUSTRATION AND TIME! Choose ANY other car rental agency than this Hertz location!!!

They don’t even deserve a star. Horrible customer service. They took unauthorized funds out of my account before the car was even returned and refused to reverse the charges. Called a separate customer service line just for them to talk me to handle it at the location. Worthless. In my opinion they are thieves. I’ll never give them my business again.

Horrible. Charged me 200 $ with out asking. People here really didn’t seem to care.
Being in the military I have rented a lot of cars. This was by far the worst. MILITARY avoid!!!
Toyota was very nice though. The body shop was great!!!

They are simply too busy to care about their customers but at least they are honest about it.
After another driver put my luxury sedan in the auto body shop nearby, their insurance offered me a «premium» car rental that was still a downgrade from the car I drove. I went in to the Hertz/​Toyota to pick it up and the only vehicles they had available were a minivan and an regular Chevy Impala. I took the Impala to find it still had trash and sand in the trunk from the previous renters. It also had cigarette burns in the drivers seat and had been so saturated with perfume it gave me a headache. I hope I don’t sound like a primadonna but after being promised a «premium» car, getting this was insufferable. I politely asked them to call me when a better vehicle came in and the gentleman helping me said they were simply too busy to do that but that I could check back in or with other Hertz locations. After another Hertz employee picked up the trash in the trunk and marked the cigarette holes as damage, I drove to another Hertz location where they put me in a very low end Infiniti, no questions asked, no hassle. It isn’t close to what I’m accustomed to driving but at least some Hertz employees are highly professional and given the power to make the situation right.
Avoid renting from this location until they can increase their capacity or learn to anticipate and compensate during high demand periods.

I hate to even give them 1 star! This is the second time I have rented from this location and it will be my last. It took 4 calls to make the reservation because the agent told me he was busy with other clients and would call me back… at the end of each day, no call back so I called back. He remembered me but was still too busy to take my reservation. 3 days before my pick up date, I call to upgrade… again I had to call back because he was too busy. While discussing my upgrade options he informed me that the quote from the prior week (when I made my reservation) was no longer available so the upgrade would double my rental rate!
So here I am, pick up day… a Hertz employee chats with the coffee cart girl while scarfing a pastry and tells me someone will be with me shortly. 10 minutes later (more than enough time to write this review) and there is still nobody at the counter to help me! This is the worst experience I have ever had at a car rental company!

These guys just don’t care about you…
I had been in an accident so the other party’s insurance was paying for my rental. I decided to pay out of pocket an additional $ 9 for insurance for the rental car and paid so WITH CASH when I returned the rental.
However, these d-​bags charged my credit credit card on file the $ 117 as well as accepted the cash that I paid them. Now they’re saying I never paid cash and they have «proof» I only paid with my card. AKA the receipt that they printed from THEIR files that I never received.
I’ve politely talked to them over the phone, in person, and have been promised to be recontacted and have not (the accident was in May and we’re STILL trying to get this sorted out… are you kidding me?)
Screw these guys… that’s all they’ll do to you.

So I got my car fixed (body work) at the Toyota San Diego, where this Hertz is located. Props for having a car rental place in the same building as an auto repair shop. Nice. But it didn’t end up being that convenient.
So I stopped in on a Wednesday to drop my car off. Insurance was picking up the rental car, and they’ll only pay for up to a «Standard» size car. (Like Chevy Malibu.) The only ones they had available were Full Size and SUV’s. WTF? Okay, fine. I decide to come back the next day, when the guy said he’d try to make sure there were more available. (I guess I wasn’t the first one with that problem.) Come back, and the same thing happens. At this point, I’m getting frustrated, so I decide to just take the «Full» size car and pay the difference in price. (Only a couple bucks a day.)
After getting everything worked out with the insurance who was picking up the tab, he sent a guy to bring down my Camry. The first thing I noticed was the smell. To say it smelled like smoke would be an understatement. It smelled like the Marlboro Man and Joe Camel took a cross country road trip in the thing. Complete with cigarette burns on the seat. After running one errand after I picked it up, I couldn’t stand it anymore and went to 7 – 11 and picked up an air freshener. (New Car Smell. HA!!) The car was not in great shape otherwise, which didn’t bother me much, but I know some people would be pissed if it was all scratched up when they got it.
Two stars for the convenient location and the fact that the guys working when I returned were cool. Otherwise… meh.
