If you really want a cheap meal this is the place to go. The food is okay not the best, there are better all you can eat places out there.

This has to be the worst buffet I have tried in a while. Of course, my fault showing up mid day but hey, they are open. First, as soon as you enter food area you get a smell of stale food. We should have left but we wanted to give it a try. Service: nonexistent. We got seated in one of the booth not in direct view of waitresses so nobody ever came back to refill drinks. I had to get up and ask for ice tea refill. Food: not sure what to say. Just don’t do it. Dry chicken teriyaki, overcooked shrimp done in many ways. Sushi area smelled fishy. You could see prepackaged sashimi fish drying up on plates half way wrapped in plastic. Do you want freshly prepared beef, chicken, veggies? No, you don’t. Loaded up plate with frozen beef, veggies, plus they had some beef on ice. You can add garlic, hot pepper but nothing else. They season it for you. That stuff was uneatable. Beef was overcooked with no flavor and tasted old. Vegetables: actually tasted pretty good. Mushrooms, green beans, etc. Dessert bar: ice cream and pretty good selection of premade desserts. Sorry, we wanted to like it. If you want to eat some veggies and dessert in a dirty restaurant, this place is for you. For everybody else, I would suggest keep driving.

I would love to give this place 5 stars. The food tastes great and the quality is up there, but the service has gotten worse and worse. You literally have to go find the waitress to get a refill. They rarely come out to check on the tables and just hang out in the back. If you are going to have this kind of service, you need to put a fountain machine so people can go refill their own drinks. Then when she finally does come to the table to refill she spills all over the table, says sorry and doesn’t come back to clean up the spill she made. Im not trying to be anal here but this is pretty simple things, and mind you this was on a very slow night, there were maybe 3 tables and 4 servers… NOTGOOD If you want a good seafood buffet for cheap this is the place, if you want great service… dont even think about it.

So it’s first buffet for me in 15 $ range where you can actually get food with better quality and freshness then some other Chinese buffets. My go to are usually sushi, salads, fruits. They had all of those in a lot of varieties. And very tasty. I wish they were located closer to where I live.

Food is good(not a fan of the fried rice though) Noodles were great though. However, plenty of options, the prices are great. Clean place. My son loved the chocolate fountain. I really enjoyed the fresh fruit and crab legs. I like that they are warm and not on ice. My family and I will be back. Thanks Hibachi.

Your traditional Asian buffet. Has everything from Mongolian, Chinese, Japanese, salad, and dessert. The quality isn’t too bad so I come here when I’m feeling hella hungry with my family. It’s a little over $ 10 depending what time of the day you go.

We went on a Sunday at 6:30pm for dinner. The place was pretty full but we were seated right away and our drink orders were taken. We like to come here because of the good variety of food, the reasonable prices($ 13.99 all day on Fri-Sun) and because of the sushi bar and Mongolian station. My personal favorites are the coconut shrimp, taro buns, Mongolian noodles, and shu mai. The quality of the food is typical of any run of the mill Chinese buffet so don’t expect too much. Lobster lovers be warned! They serve lobsters on Sundays but it’s pretty much just claws cooked in a strange looking sauce and with very little lobster meat that you have to fight your way into the claw for. I steered clear of those. The desserts are so so. I tried this pastry that looked like Napoleon cake but it was filled with yellow whipped cream instead of custard so I was a little disappointed. I usually just go for the fruits and taro or custard buns for dessert. There’s plenty of parking in the area and we never have trouble finding a spot even when it’s busy. I would probably keep going back to this place but I would definitely be selective and strategic with what I eat :)

Terrible service but then again I never expect good customer service from Asian restaurants. Food isn’t very good. Found mold on the shu Mai and even took a video of it. I mean if you’re starving and looking for a lot to eat and don’t mind mediocre food then go for it.

My go to buffet in Mira Mesa/RB area. Beats Savory and Seaside buffet hands down. I’m addicted to their salt and pepper shrimps, baked mussels, crab cakes and cream cheese. I won’t lie I go to this place even if I’m alone. Lunch on weekday is ridiculously cheap. Less than $ 10. And even on weekends prices are still affordable. If you’re planning on going here do not have high expectations. Since prices are affordable so you can already tell that this is no high end buffet but it’s definitely will be worth your money.

I came here because I had a coupon on top of their cheap price for a dinner buffet. I couldn’t believe the reviews for the location it’s in. The cleanliness and presentation is very appealing. They have a lot to offer just like a regular buffet. They even have salmon and tuna sashimi. Their crawfish was sweet and juicy and big! It was great! The staff doesn’t talk but they are on top of clearing your tables of plates! Ok so if everything is perfect why am I only giving 3 stars? Well that same night I had bad diarrhea. Non stop diarrhea. The only thing I ate differently than my friend was the salmon sashimi. It must not be fresh because I eat raw fish all the time. Won’t be coming back for a while.

Not a bad deal! We’ve been to this place about 3 times and I think the food is becoming more enjoyable each time. We also used a coupon so it feels like a good deal. My MIL loves this place for the seafood. She is someone I admire for her ability to spot a deal when it comes to food that is cheap and good. Almost everything I ate last night tasted quite good or acceptable. I am not usually a fan of buffets if you see my other reviews, but I am surprisingly becoming a fan of this buffet. Service is somewhat slow, but this looked like a busy night for them. Also, its really hard for me to take advantage of buffets when I have a 13 month old that cannot sit still for long. I think there’s enough variety to satisfy almost everyone. My in laws get the seafood. My husband gets his hibachi and I get the soups and Chinese dishes. My son is happy with the dessert. Great for families. But use a coupon!

Honestly, I’ve been to almost chinese buffet in all of San Diego and this is my favorite. Let’s start with entrée’s, lunch and dinner are very very different. Week day and weekends are very different too(weekends are the best). You have to come in and expect typical chinese buffet entrees. Like orange chicken, salmon and crab legs and muscles etc. but better. Their sushi/sashimi is great and my favorite part about this place is their Mongolian grill! YOUHAVETOMAKEYOUROWNMONGOLIAN! Not really a limit in how much you make but love the steak they have on weekends and the option with pudding eggs! You basically built your own noodle so so s good! There soups are great too! And chocolate fountain, you can serve urself! Love it!(You can’t give less than 5 stars to this place because of customer service because yes most of these servers are foreign and there will be a language barrier, so don’t expect much)

A lot better than I had anticipated through reviews. Came in here on a weekday with my best friend because we were really hungry and wanted a buffet. For $ 12.99 I thought it was pretty cheap compared to some buffets I have been to that are as high as $ 19.99 that has very similar dishes to pick from. So for price, I would say this was on the cheaper side. Everything was simple Chinese food and I would say they have a fewer selection to pick from comparing to other Chinese buffets. I loved their wontons! Cream cheese wontons here are very yummy. I probably ate ten. It’s not just cream cheese, they season it with crab and other ingredients. One of my favorites here that is worth the $ 12.99 is their crawfish!!! It was juicy and tasted really good. Better than some other seafood places I have ate it. They also season the crawfish with a nice spicy sauce which adds a kick and flavor to the crawfish. The crab legs here were ok for me. Simple and small. Not very sweet and juicy but it was ok. They also offer raw salmon and sushi rolls that could be made on the spot. They have a whole area dedicated to sweets which was nice but I ended up only grabbing the flan which was good but a had a mini burnt bottom. I would def come back here for the crawfish and a dish of basic Chinese food to satisfy my cravings! I don’t think this place is as bad as what reviewers say and every buffet isn’t going to be the best. But this one is decent and good to me. The waitress I had also cleaned my table consistently and was very nice as well.

My friend and I were originally supposed to go to BJ’s next to the mall but the wait was longer than we expected. So we decided to go here instead. And it was honestly such a downgrade compared to BJ’s. I’m allergic to peanuts(so peanut butter, peanut oil, etc.) and I got an allergic reaction there! But the weird thing is that I ate something that’s not supposed to have peanut oil in it!!! I had the chow mein and fried rice(I’m not 100% sure which one gave me the allergic reaction because I ate both of them at the same time) but those are dishes that I eat ALL the time at other buffets and I never have a problem. It was really sad to have to deal with this after. Made me pretty upset and ruined my dinner.

A little pricey at $ 13 a head. However, there is a strategy to this place. Many of the line items are stale or cold with the exception of the crab legs. Eat plenty of those. Also, they have super fresh, quality steaks, shrimps, and veggies at the Mongolian BBQ area so focus on that. I always pile up a huge plate full of veggies, shrimps, noodles, and then lay a fat steak on top of it. Once the guy cooks it it’s like surf and turf Chinese style. Very delicious. Deserts are not too good but the carrot cake and ice cream is ok. They need some more toppings for the ice cream, at least chocolate syrup. Currently just some peanuts, nasty sugar sprinkles and weird looking raisins. I was going to raid the chocolate fountain to put on my ice cream but it was not there at all which was kind of irritating.

Much better than the reviews they’ve been getting. People need to register the price point and set standards and expectations before they expect to hit the lottery and write negative reviews. Hibachi is very good for what they’re doing. Huge buffet mostly Chinese dishes with about 20% Japanese dishes. If you’re a seafood fan, you’ll love the deal on decent seafood. Better quality, freshness and presentation that I anticipated. My only recommendation is to pass on the sushi rolls. The sushi was ok, but the rolls were cold and flavorless. Coming back for dinner to take advantage of the crab legs. You’ll over eat, feel stuffed, regret you broke your promise to never to go back to a buffet. But you’ll feel much better than 90% of the buffets you’ve been to before. Great: Going in with a game plan of sampling a lot of dishes and not over eating. Good: salmon, squid, seaweed salad, chicken wings, cheese covered mussels, mushrooms Not so good: sushi rolls, egg rolls

Craving for some crab legs the other night, we looked up this place after passing by it a few weeks ago. We usually frequent Savory BBQ on Miramar Rd.(which is actually pricier), but we wanted to try out somewhere different this time around. The food stations are set up all in the middle of the restaurant, which is kinda cool because it helps with presentation. I tried a few of their salads: yummy Caesar salad, I added egg to mine too… cucumber salad(great if you like a lighter, vinagrette type with red onion and tomato) and the squid(cold) salad, which is closest to a ceviche sort of taste. The hot foods I tried were: cream cheese wontons(they are really good here, with the red sauce!), fried rice(tasted ok), sauteed mushrooms(very good), creamed corn/seafood bake on the scallop shell(yummy), salt & pepper crab(a little on the more garlicky side, but I like it like that) and fried chicken(a little too battery for me). The hot & sour soup was no bueno though… I even added more vinegar but it still tasted a little old. The miso soup was not bad though. The crab legs were awesome. Well, the batch we got at least… the ones we picked out were huge and not overcooked at all. I usually go back for 2+ more plates but this time just one was enough. I guess if you come by the crab station at the bottom of the selection, your pickings would be more slim… literally. The oysters next to the prime rib were gross though… tasted too fishy, I could barely stomach one. I think it would have tasted better with just lemon and Tabasco. The sauce was not very good and actually aggravated the fishiness I think. Desserts? My fave was the raspberry soufflé thing in the cup and the mango pudding. Soft serve was not that great. That sucks that other people had cold food here. I didn’t experience that at all here. I did however, start sneezing like crazy when we were walked to our booth. I usually only do that when there is dust or pollen around. I looked to my left and saw a dust pan and broom with dust and other crap in it… BOOM. There was the culprit! I thought that was pretty gross to have near tables, where people were eating. Oh yeah, the staff are very adamant about taking away plates too, I think someone tried every 5 minutes or anytime there was an inkling of an empty/used plate. Guard anything you don’t want them take away!

Stopped in for a quick bite, had a minute, thought ok– hungry, better to eat now than later. it was the worst I’ve ever had! The only thing good was the Ice Tea! I could go on, but I’ll stop there. There’s definitely something to say for a nice fresh Sea Bass Lunch for $ 20! Sorry.

So, back like 5 years ago this place was called new panda buffet. It was never great, just below mediocre. But there were a few items that made the place stand out. Such as the jalapeño chicken and the garlic shrimp. Fast forward 5 years after new panda buffet closed down due to failed health inspection. They«changed«ownership and renamed the place hibachi grill. Well, I over heard someone say this place was better. I think they are crazy! It’s the exact same place with the exact same food. The service is poor, the food is below mediocre and I witness things I wish I never saw. I watched a worker clean up around the food area and put it back into the entrée pan. Gross! I have a huge sweet tooth and was kind of excited for the soft serve ice cream, until I saw that the machine hadn’t been cleaned in 99 hours. Now I used to work for a yogurt shop and it was to be cleaned no more then 48 hours if not daily. Needless to say I didn’t eat the soft serve ice cream. I will note, the garlic shrimp and jalapeño chicken still tasted good. If you are coming here to fill yourself up for the day for a cheap cost… This is the place for you. Come with low expectations and disregard the cleanliness.

Lunch Buffet is a great value and the food is fresh and tasty! Sushi is always fresh and served all the time! Dinner buffet jumps up $ 3 and only addition I see were crab legs on the buffet line and tri tip steak added to the hibachi stir fry station. The reason we really like this place is only $ 0.80 per year charge for children up to 10 years old-2 and under free. Weekends only — they add a chocolate fountain!

This is an all you can eat restaurant. They have so many selections. In addition to the usual Chinese items, they have a sushi bar and a «noddle» bar where noddles with your choice of ingredients are made to order. I usually go for my usual selection: chow mien, beef dishes, and seafood. For me, the manila clam cooked in black bean sauce stands out. My wife likes the little crabs but not when they are mushy. I used to feast on the crab legs but lately I do not have the appetite for them. Price per person is $ 14 on the weekend. Overall, this Chinese buffet is better than most other buffets in the same price range. For that I gave them 4 star.

OK. I have to say people rating this place are kind of mean. This place has delicious food for decent prices, especially if you want take out. People have to consider this place has seafood and sushi. No matter if the quality isn’t great, seafood does not come cheap. If you want some amazing fine dining stuff go to a restaurant. Sheesh. Let’s support local business. I recommend this place. I think this place delicious!

Haven’t been to this restaurant since it was Panda Buffet, and I must say even with a new name and new management. I am still not fond of it! Food: They have quite a variety of Chinese, Asian, and seafood options; however, beware as they are salty! There is too much salt in their food in my opinion and after eating a plate, you’ll definitely understand. It gets you bloated and wanting something fresh and healthy. Although, there is a lot of fruit to choose from which was nice. They also have dessert and a chocolate fountain but there dessert isn’t good. Service: I came here for lunch on a Sunday with my family for my aunts birthday and the service was not great. The waitress we had wasn’t nice either. She didn’t check up on us a lot to pick up our used plates or refill our drinks. What was really disrespectful, was the smirk on her face when we told her we had about 4 more of our family members on their way. It was no way to treat your customers! And she shouldn’t have a had a problem with it when there was clearly whole other section of seating area for other people because our group was seated in the party room. But anyways, save your money and your appetite! I recommend going to another restaurant or buffet.

Already plenty of truthful reviews here about Hibachi Buffet, so I won’t belabor the point. I do however think it’s worth a few minutes to chime in and add my 2 cents. A few observations from today’s visit(first and last i think): Food: Nothing in the entire array of selections was positively memorable, and much of it ranges from forgettable, to just really bad. Atmosphere: I think the outside temperature today was around 80, and inside the Hibachi it felt about 10 degrees hotter, with no air movement what-so-ever, yea not a comfortable eating arrangement, even with decent food, which was no where to be found. Honestly, the bar in this part of SD is not super high, but there is good food to be had at the same price point, within walking distance. I would say this place would be a disappointment, even if I were super hungry, in the middle of nowhere, on a cross country road trip, and had been eating nothing but Fritos and drinking tap water for a week solid. I’ll stop now, with this final thought… just don’t do it.

This place is truly depressing. The restaurant is in complete shambles! The bathrooms are incredibly dirty… and not in a way that suggests that the staff forgot to tidy it up, but that they forgot they had one! Mold on walls, a roach in the stall, broken stall doors, and apparently toilets just don’t flush anymore… any of them. The food tasted and felt as if it had been sitting there for days. Brown sushimi, salmon cooked so tough that a knife couldn’t get through it, and every dish looking greasy, shriveled, and inedible. The weirdest part was the 10 or so employees standing/sitting around the restaurant. No one seemed to have anything to do. And even with no tasks at hand, we had to ask multiple times for refills on water. So sad that I didn’t check Unilocal before going inside. Every terrible review here is sadly, very VERY true!

Several coworkers and I ate here for lunch for someone’s birthday. The lunch price is $ 8.99 for a buffet! Super cheap! Plenty of seating during lunch hours. Plenty and nice selection of mostly Asian dishes. I’d say the quality of the food was just average, but I’d still come back just because of the price and the selection. If we weren’t limited with our lunch break, I’m sure we would’ve spent a lot more time in there!

Sign above the entrance: «Abandon all hope ye who enter here.» The food is cold and tasteless. The salad bar could use a quarantine and any morsels that look half decent are too greasy to eat guilt-free. They have a modest desert selection and the service is attentive; the namesake ‘Hibachi’ portion of the buffet seems like a cheap add-on that most buffets would have replaced with something like a real grill or a live sushi chef. Cheap, though. Stay away if you want something better for yourself.

I was hesitant to come here because of the reviews however I was surprised! Everything I ate was good. I liked that you were able to make your own stir fry and steak! I enjoyed the butterfly shrimp, honey walnut shrimp, mussels and soups. perfect place to get your chinese food fix. I also like that you can bring your own alcohol! the only down fall of this place is the desserts. I did not like anything except the fruit and ice-cream. the cakes were not good. there is a chocolate fountain which is very fun.
