the juices are delicious; but if you are above the age of 30, they seem to ignore you. I have had to walk away twice because the girls behind the counter were talking to some guys about the same age as them and blowing us off.

Very sweet, knowledgable, and enthusiastic girl proving excellent customer service, which is so underrated and unexpected in California. Had no clue, their dogs are made of turkey and that they just added beef as a selection. I’ve turned it down before because I thought they were pork! It was a hot, great tasting turkey corn dog. I even saw where she made a little kid a weenie on a stick that looked like an Octopus/squid.

Had a bit of nostalgia when I saw they had fried cheese on a stick. Thought those only came in county fairs… and then I realized this place IS a county fair haha. lemon shakeups, corn dogs(‘hot dog on a stick’), and fried cheese! Omg the batter is so good. I’ll go to the gym tomorrow. So worth it

I didn’t know that these were made of turkey. It’s nice to know that you are eating something kinda healthy lol. The girl behind the counter was really nice and friendly. She even gave me a frequent buyer card and samples of their lemonade. The corn dogs were very hot and very good.

We were at the mall, decided to check out the food court since we just got to SD, hotel was just across the street. My friend remembered the name«Hot Dog on a Stick» from some Charlie’s Angels movie. I’ve probably only had 3 – 4 in my life, but this corn dog was just okay. I prefer a beef hot dog. Turkey hot dogs are just too soft and not enough flavor. The best corn dog I ever had was at Saks Fifth Avenue during a Charity Shopping Event. All-beef hot dogs are so much better… I took a few sips of the lemonade and it was way too sweet for me, but my friend liked it. So if you like sugary drinks, guess you’ll love their lemonade. =P

Fresh to made battered dipped hot dogs yum yum yum. My best friend had a coupon for a dollar off the hot dog on a stick and we each only had to pay $ 1 each and some cents for tax. What a steal! Plus we got a sample of the lemonade, pretty refreshing I must say.

Such a guilty pleasure of mine! I am so glad they have veggie dogs otherwise I’d have to get my corn dog fix in the freezer section of the grocery store. So not the same:(

I’m a huge fan of food on a stick. Be it Rocket Pops, Blow Pops, Sugar Daddies, skewers, candy apples, fudgesicles or corn dogs… I love my food with a sliver of old tree stuck clear up it’s arse. That’s why I love Hot Dog On a Stick. Food that knows how to take a foreign object, where the sun don’t shine, like a man! Respect! Of course, their corn dogs are delicious. Even Sean Penn’s character in I Am Sam could figure that shits out. But the REAL reason I come here is for the lemonade. Whoa, momma! If Walter Cronkite’s urine tasted that good, you bet your sweet keister I’d be begging him for a golden shower every 17 minutes. I do feel bad watching those kids make the lemonade, though. They’re working their asses off pounding, mixing, mashing, smashing and bashing. The only time it’s enjoyable to see my lemonade in transition from lemon, to liquidity, is when an attractive, buxom woman(over the age of 18) is making it happen. FTW, beeeeeooootttccch!

I work at Horton Plaza and nearly every break i have I head over to HDOS and get an American Cheese on a Stick, fries and a large Original Chiller. I get a mall employee discount, too, but the food is so delicious I would go there even if it was twice the price! Very refreshing lemonade. :)

blech, and some more blech, snack time and i am exploring horton plaza… i decided to check this place out… Unilocaler’s seem to like it… three options: turkey, cheese, or veggie. I respect the healthier meats and all, but really, its being fried anyway… i get the turkey, chat boston baseball with the counter guy, and then«hot dog on a stick!» Get my yellow mustard, why cant places use spicy brown??? let it cool, take a bite, blech… no thank you… give me a nice beef hot dog… and most likely next time i am off to the place next door for a real grilled hot dog…

«Hot Dog on a Stick» was started at Muscle Beach, Santa Monica, California in 1946. Dave Barham started with an idea — treat people to an experience. He built his business around the concepts of putting people first, and giving them a show. Employees of Hot Dog on a Stick wear a whimsical mid-1960s uniform with hot pants and a jockey cap. The company vision: «We keep it simple.» Quality turkey hot dogs are dipped in batter and cooked with 100% vegetable oil to a dark golden brown perfection with mustard and ketchup available to compliment the taste. 250 calories per dog with 14g of fat(4g saturated) or the veggie dog at 180 calories with only 3g of fat(0.5g saturated). The employees own the company. Carlsbad CA’s Fredrica Thode, President and CEO, passed away in January ’07 after a prologed illness. She said«We have very low turnover because of employee ownership.» She also said«When you sell(hot dogs) at $ 2.50 apiece, you have to be where a lot of people are.» She was a very much loved leader and inspiration to those who knew her. I picked this company for my 300th review because they are totally California and prove that people centered values will endure forever!
