Great service, very friendly. Come here for breakfast everyday when on vacation and they have simple great meals!

We dined in while we stayed for a week on our time share. We walked over one night and the food was fantastic. The next few nights, I had them bring it to my room. Lobster risotto, the steak, fillet mignon cooked to perfection. Apple bread pudding was my favorite. Five stars all the way.

Horrible service!
Half way through our breakfast we asked for more coffee, jam and ordered a mimosa. The waitress Michelle said she’d have it right out. She proceeded to chat with another table for 10 minutes, ignoring us completely. She even told another table she’s very «social» at work and still managed to walk by our table without acknowledging us. We went the rest of our meal without service from Michelle. When we got the bill we were charged for the mimosa which we never received. It took over 10 minutes to get our bill paid and the restaurant was only serving 3 tables! And they had another waitress helping 2 of the 3 tables!
Absolutely the worst service. I would’ve gotten better service at Denny’s.

Saturday Dinner, Sunday Brunch, and then Monday Morning Breakfast… All amazing service and food. Enjoyed everything so much. Thank you Humphreys. What a Class Act!

This review is for the brunch on sundays…
I imagined this to be a whole lot better than what it was for the price. I attended a retirement party for a coworker for brunch here. The fee for adults is 45 $ for kids it’s 20 $. I brought along my daughter. The ambiance was fantastic! There were love saxophone players and very big windows with lots of natural light and a beautiful view of the ocean. But the food was buffet style and very mediocre. I’m talking like hometown buffet stuff or more fancy like soup plantation or something. The only thing worth it was the crab legs, raw oysters, and the ready to make Omelettes. Surprisingly they didn’t have more seafood. Most of the restaurants on shelter island focus on seafood since it’s by the water. They had sushi but for brunch? I’ll try the dinner and then update for you guys.

Came here with coworkers for a lunch. The interior is so chicly furnished. Everything was beige and gray. The view of the marina is beautiful and so tranquil.
Service was a bit slow considering there were only 2 other people eating the at the same time. Selection of food was very limited as well. Taste of the food was great though; no complaints here! Presentation was very attractive and everything was cooked and seasoned well.
The bathrooms were damp, smelly dim and didn’t resemble the rest of the restaurant’s décor. It had a cheesy beachy theme while the dining area looked super upscale.
Prices were on the high side for sure.

Unexpected to go to brunch. They fit us in and it was WONDERFUL. Everyone loved the view, food and people were great. So nice to go where people treat others with respect

This place shredded my credit card after 1 night. I came there on Friday and left my tab open because a friend got sick and had to leave early. I came back on Sunday morning to have breakfast and pick it up. They told me it was shredded, and I would need to get a new card. Didn’t even apologize.
Nice way to treat your customers, Humphreys.
Oh and there are tons of hookers in this place.

Our GoTo when we stay at Humphrey’s! This resort hits all the notes! Location, fun, hip, cool all the adjectives! Humpreys restaurant is the bomb!

Just this past Wednesday evening I dined in for the first time at Humphrey’s restaurants with a fellow friend of mine who like me is an advent SD foodie always looking for new popular places to try out. As a top bucket list place for us both we were excited to at long last give this a go. More so yet after the impressive «taste» we got just over a week ago at the Humphrey’s All Access social media event… we had a real good idea of what was in store lets just say.
We got in about 7pm and were seated right away even without a reservation and found the place maybe a ¹⁄₃ full with other groups. The view as anyone knows catches your eye right away… its awesome!
What we ordered:
partner: braised short rib
me: jidori chicken
shared: crabcake, crispy brussel sprouts, grilled wild mushroom, heirloom tomato salad
The pictures I posted show you how awesome everything looked but do no justice for the amazing quality of flavor they all contained! Every dish we had was outstanding. Crab cake is to die for hands down 1 of the bets we both ever had. our two entrees were super tender, most and full of flavor, with meat dishes like this its so very easy to go too far and dry out the meat, not Chef Boar!
Our side dishes were on point and worth every penny, perfectly charred sprouts with bacon and seasonings. The wild mushrooms were the perfect pairing for our entrée selections as well. Even the simple last minute selection of the heirloom tomato salad proved a surprise in its simple nature and structure but huge impact in flavor combination from the ingredients used. I apologize for not having a image of the sprouts but my photo did not turn out and thus had nothing to work with, my bad!
Our server Joanne was perfect. She was kind, professional and well informed. She knew the menu well, kept an eye on us enough to be helpful but no so much to be intrusive.
At the end of our meal the manager Erik came out to ask how our experience was and if he could get us anything more. When a manager comes out to assure his customers are satisfied face to face it always impresses me that they care about the bottom line… the person… not their wallet. Doing that will assure the $$ keep coming in.
So although we both had high expectations coming in anyway, Chef Nicolas Boar and team met and even exceeded our projections of a top tier high end dinner experience. Now I have to get a move on and try out their famous Sunday brunch with its famous marina views, mimosa and seafood specials! Being a I love just a mile or so off this could become a dangerous although delicious relationship with Humphrey’s.

I have heard so much about Humphreys, I always wanted to go and I am happy I did. I promise my review will be better than 5*.
Here is why:
The ambiance of the restaurant is straight out from the Anchorman, I imagined Ron Burgundy playing on the flute upstairs. The views are World Class, probably the best view the city offers at twilight.
And here is the rest that I wasn’t that happy about:
The service was nice but lacking a lot you’d desire at a $ 30 a plate restaurant. Long wait times before they asked if I wanted another drink. An empty wine glass sitting there for 15 minutes should be a hint. Bread service for an extra $ 5? Really? Why not utensil service for $ 1 a piece?
The food was mediocre, reasonable quality for the most part nothing to write about. I made a mistake of ordering fries (french fries) and it felt like it was made from frozen fries. Chicken was the perfect tenderness but under seasoned.
Long story short, the chef is probably uninspired and needs a vacation and a look at his/​her dreams and goals and whether Humphries is it.
When I left I noticed a bunch of well manicured older man with their daughters who didn’t look at all like them so maybe… stepdaughters? Must be a popular place for daddies catching up with the kid back from college.
I will be back for a drink but not the food.

I celebrated my mom’s 50^th at Humphrey’s last night, and I had to make sure that after the absolutely amazing service my family and I received, I let people know what an amazing time I had. The restaurant itself is beautiful. The food was great. I had a fabulous glass of reisling. But the service was outstanding. Thank you, especially to our two lady servers, for helping us make my mom’s birthday dinner spectacular. I will be back.
For starters, our servers assisted with the birthday décor, a fussy red carpet, an easle and photo, and balloons. They split checks correctly with little hassle, something I understand can really become a hassle and is not necessarily a favorite guest request. Our food was delivered on time and and hot. The servers were extremely friendly and courteous. I could go on, but my point is, my mom was made to feel like a queen, and the servers played a big role in that. Thank you, ladies.

My mother and I came here for late brunch on Easter; we’ve been coming here since I was little. They didn’t have our reservation but the manager let us take a seat anyways. The service is absolutely great and the waitresses are all extremely friendly. I like that they change your plate/​utensils and refill your empty cups often. As for the food, incredibly mediocre. Nothing tasted fresh, not even the fruit. Definitely won’t be coming back, but nonetheless, this place is overall pretty average.

Have you ever had a meal before that makes you question every meal you’ve ever eaten before it? Like where have dishes of this caliber, with this much flavor and such beautiful presentation existed before?
Recently my best friend got engaged, so to celebrate her engagement (and her asking me to be her bridesmaid, eek!) I wanted to do something really special. Brandon Hernandez, the new (ish) Sous Chef at Humphrey’s, was able to put together an incredible six course meal for us paired with craft cocktails designed by their Head Mixologist, Austin McAdams. What they put together for us far exceeded my expectations and was truly jaw-​dropping. I travel a lot and eat at a lot of phenomenal, award-​winning restaurants, but I must say this could quite possibly be the best meal I have ever had in my entire life (and I don’t say that lightly).
While the food dishes below are not currently on Humphrey’s dining menu, I am sure the team would be more than happy to design a customized menu featuring the below items or any special requests you may have. These dishes may be making their way to the menu soon though! The cocktails however ARE on the menu and rival some of the best craft cocktails bars I have been to nationwide. Austin is a mixologist genius, and his co-​bartender Stephan did equally great replicating his creations. (Also huge shoutout to our server Matt who was a delight and hilarious all evening).

I came in with my girlfriend for a late dinner celebration and had an amazing dining experience! I couldn’t have asked or experienced anything better.
It was our first time to truly experience fine dining, and Chef Brandon delivered. We had 7 courses including dessert, which was perfectly executed from the craftsmanship of the food which was prepared to the beauty of plating. Each meal showed how much talent this young man held. There was no disappointment in any of the dishes that was brought out to us. It makes me wonder why people really bag on this place? Although I’m sure it’s just the fact that their taste buds haven’t matured enough to acquire certain flavors.
We also, came back for their Sunday brunch buffet. Now talk about all you can eat! Chef Brandon again came through! From the freshest seafoods to the mouth watering steaks! Everything made fresh, and the desserts were so hard to choose from! My best advice is to just go and see for yourself.
Lastly, if you want quality food with amazing flavors and an amazing view of the harbor, then Humphreys Restaurant is the place for you. Ask if Chef Brandon is in, and tell him Big John sent you! I couldn’t ask for anything better, Chef Brandon KILLS it in every aspect of this restaurant industry. By far one of San Diegos younger and up coming Chefs. Be on the look out for him!

It’s been a long while since I dined here and this was the first time doing a dinner with a show package. First, their wine selection is terrible. Most whites were from 2010 which limited the selection substantially. While they brought a cold bottle to the table there was no wine chiller to keep it cold. For such an upscale atmosphere this seemed really odd. Also there were no knives at any of the tables.
The crab and lobster cucumber roll was not bad but could have used a bit more salt and lemon. The knife situation was glaringly obvious when it came time to eat the one bok choi sitting with our cod and few mussels. Basically just opted for the Fred Flinstone approach and I’m sure it wasn’t pretty. Good thing I’ve been with my guy more than 2 decades!
The cod was so bland and I’m not one to use much salt but it really was pretty tasteless. I asked for chili sauce thinking that I might get an Asian chili sauce as the meal was served with bok choi over black rice. Nope … El tapatio to the rescue. It was better than nothing.
The dessert was ok, but overall a big disappointment.

I came to Humphrey’s with a friend and had the best dinning experience in a long time. We arrived at 6pm and got seated immediately, we had a window seat. The view of the boats and lights over the water was beautiful. Our server was excellent and started us off with some wine and assortment of fresh artisan bread rolls. I had the Butter Poached Lobster Tail for appetizers and it was delicious. For my Entrée I had the Rack of Lamb cooked to perfection, everything on the dish complimented the Lamb. Chef Nicholas was touching tables and came over to see how we enjoyed our meals which made the dinning experience all that much better.
I will definitely be coming back to Humphrey’s restaurant. It is my new favorite spot in town.

My family took me here for my Bridal Shower, we had a party of 7 and had reservations for 10:30. We were able to be checked in early and seated immediately. The service was great, the kept serving us with mimosas, orange juice and water and they were constantly taking away our finished plates.
The food was about a ⁷⁄₁₀ BUT an A++++ on their Alfredo tortellini, Crème brûlée and chocolate covered strawberries! The scenery was amazing and couldn’t have been a better day to go.

I guess there’s a reason we don’t do brunch buffets that often anymore. It makes perfect sense to charge $ 47 pp for a champagne brunch. I certainly think you get what you pay for. I can’t eat enough to justify $ 47 and for a brunch I would prefer a la carte and have tremendous quality of one dish rather than mid range quality on a buffet. There is just so much waste involved in a buffet so the price for what you get makes sense.
HITS: The Prime Rib, Omelet Station, Fresh Waffles, Whole Crab legs (had to break yourself but worth the trouble) Eggs Benedict
MISSES: Crab legs, pre-​cut (Looses flavor, you can taste the freezer) everything else was just okay…
Made a last minute reservation so we ended up in the lounge, would have preferred the dining room because its a nicer and quieter environment but honestly the Jazz musician was pretty cool. I’m glad they fit us in but would have been nice to be notified of the location
We did have a nice time together however I think we all agreed that a buffet just leaves a lot to be desired in terms of overall quality.

Great place for Sunday Brunch with Jazz & Mimosas.
Buffet food selections are fresh & plentiful. Champagne/​Mimosas are non stop & the view is very nice.
They recently remodeled & the new décor is much more appealing. Very contemporary & clean.
Location is wonderful for a nice long walk before or after brunch.

It Saddens me that I have to write this negative review. Celebrating my sisters birthday, we had a large party which we had reservations for I might add and the service was inadequate. To the point to where I had to refill 5 others and my own water. At least 4 of our meals had to be sent back or replaced due to the food being uncooked. The waitresses were rude and condescending towards those as well. When I was pouring the water, it was then that they offered to refill our drinks.
My meal was Steak & Fretes and the steaks (requested well done) was rare only partial cooked, not to my satisfaction at all.
This is by far the worst experience I have ever had. I would not recommend it and I will not be coming back.

I recently came here to celebrate a late mother’s day dinner. We made reservations for dinner in case it was busy and packed. The parking wasn’t what I was expecting. It was my first time here so I didn’t know where to park. There was a concert going on as well so we ended up parking across the street next to the harbor.
We were seated in the middle of the restaurant. Wish we got seated near the windows to enjoy the views, but not a big deal. I ordered the cajun corn chowder with shrimp and also got the braised short ribs. The soup was pretty tasty. The short ribs were really good as well. No knife needed as the meat was really tender and juicy. We also ordered bread. It was weird to have to order bread and not just get it complementary. The bread and cie artisan breads were not that great. Nothing that stood out from having to pay for it. For dessert, we got the crème brûlée and the almond cheesecake.
The service was a little slow. It wasn’t that busy of a night so not sure why it took so long. No one came to check up on us to make sure we still had drinks and didn’t need refills. I don’t feel like I need to have to ask for a refill, especially at a high end restaurant.
The food was on the pricey side but it was still good. Not a bad place to have dinner but nothing special to make me want to come back for more.
