As others have stated. ipayment is a scam. They will entice you with a low quote, but will instantly begin to increase fees. They also give away (or sell) your bank account number to their many sister companies and affiliates, they in turn take money directly out of your bank account without your knowledge of consent, for a list of non-​existent services. This is theft — any other industry, these people would be in prison.

They ripped me off big time. The salesperson convinced me to switch to them by telling me low rate approval 1.6%. I opened an account with them and after my first transaction I notice it is not 1.6% in fate it was more than 3.5% plus their stupid monthly fee and device fee even statement fee. More than that they hold my account because of my transactions went above their approval even I gave them my previous merchant account statement they approved me for a stupid amount of 30k per month. To keep it short, they push me to reversed my transactions and ruined my reputation in front of my clients. Anyway, more funny they billed for sweeping and returning those transactions at the end of month. There was a stupid guy name Juan from risk management who doesn’t undestand anything at all. At the end, one word, this company is a real scam, do not make a same mistake as I did. Their fee is so high and their service is horrible, worst in the town.

This company is a scam waiting to gouge unsuspecting people in excessive fees. Save yourself time, money, and frustration by avoiding this company. I’ve dealt with with company many years ago, and things were great. I suspend my business, deploy to Iraq then restart the business and was just faced with fees.
Avoid this company and go with Paypal.

I have to be very ticked off to actually right a review, but this company has infuriated me to this point. If you are thinking about going with this company to process credit cards for your company… don’t.
They will nickle and dime you to death. I made a test transaction of $ 1 and they charged me $ 15.41 for fees plus $ 12.90 monthly fee. Plus, when I cancelled in Oct, they charged me an additional $ 14.17 in November for my only transaction I did with them in addition to the monthly fee.
I was contacted by them (my first mistake, don’t get anything from anyone who contacts you over the phone… lesson learned) and they did not mention all of the fees that I was later subjected to even though I asked. It was only supposed to be $ 5 monthly fee and a certain percentage when I used the credit card machine.
The process is incredibly complicated in the beginning. You never know which website you need to go to if you need to make changes on your account. I was also given two different phone numbers with long wait times to get things resolved but on one number they didn’t even have me in their system.
They misspelled my company name and after calling 2 times and filling out the paperwork needed, I still never got that fixed.
I tried to cancelled in Oct and had to call about 3 times and email an additional 2 times before it was actually cancelled. Even after that I had to call and email a few times to see if the account was actually cancelled since I was never given anything saying so.
Average wait time to get to talk to someone is normally 30 minutes if you are lucky.
There are many other companies that can process your credit cards, like PayPal. The difference is night and day.

It’s too bad there isn’t an option for 0 stars. This company is bad news. Will hold you money for months/​years. An absolute headache, waste of time, and waste of money. Stay away.

Why do review sites force us to give 1 star? These clowns don’t deserve even 1 star. Nasty, nasty, nasty. Full of promises, short (very short) on delivery. Charges appear that aren’t legit. Yes they took them off when I questioned them, but what if I wasn’t as vigilant?
Then they cancel my account without warning or notification.
In the words of the Lost in Space robot, «Warning, warning! Danger approaching!»

The worst of all that any sort of company can be. They will hold your money forever without a reason and their customer service will hang up on you after you are insulted just because you asked why they hold your money.
The reviews you have read and seen about this company are very real. The strange mystery is how such scammers are still in business, still ripping off people and get away with it.
I can’t stress enough how much you should avoid this company at all cost.

I signed up with Flagship who was bought out by iPayment. Wish I would have read all of the negative reviews first! They told me a client’s charge was «too large» to process so I cancelled my account with them during that phone conversation & followed up via email, only to find out two weeks later that although they didn’t deposit my client’s money into my account, they still charged me the merchant fees on it and the charge is still on my client’s AmEx! Now they are telling me it could take up to two weeks for it to be resolved. Based on the reviews I’ve seen online, I fear this may never happen.

I would have to say probably the best merchant company around.

As horrible it can be. I regret so much moving my business to them.
I have been through hell with these guys. Attitude and hanging up on their customers. Not returning calls or emails.
Be careful they will hold your money forever. In my situation it has been over 2 months. I am furious…
Stay away and save yourself the stress!

Shocking rip-​off. My credit card processor let them put a 1 month free trial on my account without authorization from me. When the «trial» was over, they debited me every month until I finally got the credit card company to step in and cancel this bogus account. Now, after almost a year, they just debited me again for $ 49 they say they that they are entitled to for a «yearly fee». These people are just out and out criminals. If you ever see they have billed you, good luck getting any satisfaction or your money refunded. What a nightmare. Just looked up that they have many names. My CC account was with Card Payment Solutions — guess what? They own that company along with 1^st Nat’l Processing, CSI Processing, Integrated Card Service, Merchant Service Center, and Nat’l Payment Processing. Beware these total scam artists.

DON’T DO IT. Started my own business earlier this year and have already learned a bit about where to invest my time and money. For a small biz, going with Paypal or similar is without a doubt worth paying a slightly greater % per transaction. Otherwise you’ll have to have multiple accounts to which you’ll pay multiple fees such as a fee for not selling enough and the fee they charge for determining how much to charge you. You’ll need an IT person to ensure you stay in compliance… or receive more fees. You’ll be doing a lot of reading. Truly a frustrating mess that will bleed you. Now, 8 months after closing my account I receive another annual fee $ 49.50. No matter I never made any transactions for the short time I had the account. Nobody I spoke to at ipayment would consider issuing a refund for this final (?) jab.

Everything that has been writen on Unilocal about this company is true. Do not do business with them or will be loosing money you should not. I have tried to resolve this issue with the company for nearly two years and management refuses to cooperate even after one of their reps misrepresented the contract.
From the very beginning their rates were higher and I went with another merchant company. I have been paying them eversince. They also charged me for PCI non-​compliance ever when I was compliant. THEY ARE A RIPP OFF… take the time to read all the lawsuits against this company… STAY AWAY!!!

They stole my money! I had 500 dollars in sales and then they decided to place a hold on my account because it was a new account, for 1 month. After 1 month I called them to verify they were going to finally deposit my funds, but instead they decided to close my account without telling me. Why did they close my account you ask? They closed my account because I sell smartphones. So then I made the statement, to a manager over the phone, that nowhere is that information provided before you sign up that you can’t sell smartphones and I ask for MY MONEY to be sent to me, and we would just part ways. Nope they will not give me my money and the manger just hung up on me. So beware iPayment, they are thieves and swindlers!

Beware of this place, I should have checked the many other links relating to lawsuits and ripp off’s regarding this company before I signed up online for credit card processing. To make a long story short I had signed up for credit card processing for a small business, for 10 dollars a month with varying visa, mastercard, and amex processing percentages. What I did not know was they signed me up for a ghost account never used nor was I privy of it deducting 34.95 $ out of my account every month. I had not audited my bank account for 8 months since I opened this credit processing account, that is how I found it. When I called them, all they said was the agent who I was communicating with when I first opened the account, must have opened another account and it has never been used for the whole 8 months since it was opened. While they are deducting 34.95 out of my account every month, which the only reason why I opened the «legal» account was because the monthly fee was 10 $. So I told them I did not open this account close it immediately and refund my money. They were like, we can send you an e-​mail link to close the account, but we are not going to refund your money. So I called my bank and reported fraud, and I am also going to report this to the appropriate government fraud department. I am also closing the account I opened tomorrow.
