Jamboree Pet Care

We have been using Jamboree Pet Care to sit our cat when we go on family vacations. Steve is so wonderful and caring. Our cat loves Steve and we feel extremely comfortable and safe having having Jamboree in our home.

I’ve used Jamboree 3 – 4 times now. I was extremely nervous about using a pet sitter because my dog is a rescue, not very socialized, and somewhat «high needs.» Luckily, Steve is wonderful with her and she always seems happy and well cared for when my husband and I return home. Steve’s able to come by close to her usual walk/​feeding schedule so her «routine» isn’t too disrupted and always leaves notes about each visit. They’re always prompt when responding to emails and requests, and I’m able to enjoy trips more knowing my pup is looked after and safe. Very much recommended!

This is a very long overdue report but I just referred a co-​worker to Jamboree and thought I should right a review! I have been using Jamboree Pet Care for about 5 years, with my old cat who passed away a few years ago and now my new kitty! PJ is great to work with. I just email her the dates I will be away and she takes care of the rest! Steve is the pet sitter that looks after my cat and she really likes him! He plays with her, takes care of her food, water and litter needs and will even check the mail and bring in packages. And he leaves great notes about how my cat is doing and what they did when he visited. Steve is also very considerate to text me on the first visit so I know that he got in the house ok. I always feel very secure knowing that Steve and PJ will take care of my cat when I am traveling. And you can pay via PayPay an added bonus!

We love Jamboree. i found them back in March when my Husband and I went out of town and our friend canceled on us. We had two friends helping us watch our dogs while we were gone so we had a weird schedule we needed help filling in. Jamboree was awesome. They worked with us to make sure that our dogs were well taken care of.
Steve came to meet the dogs and get a layout of the house and pick up all of the paperwork. Steve was excellent with our two overly hyper boxers. Steve came many times during our out of town trip in March. He fed them, walked them and hung out with them. I loved coming home to the notes of how each visit went. Some days Steve was scheduled to come three or four times and each time he left a note on how they dogs had done. Steve even took our trash to the curb which was awesome.
We just came back from an out of town trip and we needed someone to stay with our dogs for one of the days we were gone. Steve to the rescue again. Steve came two times during the day and then stayed overnight into the next morning. When he had a concern he did not hesitate to give me a call to discuss his concerns. Again we came home to great notes of how each visit went.
Our dogs were well cared for and happy pups. Jamboree is our go to pet care when we go out of town. Thank you Steve.

My puppy is about my most favorite thing on this earth… I love him but really needed some relief after coming home from a hard day at work and he just wanted to play! In an attempt to get me a couple minutes of quiet, I hired Jamboree to take him out for walks a couple days a week. And it’s a lot ot expect from a 8 month-​old puppy to behave ALL day long!
Fortunately, Kristen lives in a complex adjacent to mine and is able to just walk over and take him out to explore.
Scheduling is super easy and just need to send an email the day before, price is reasonable, and most importantly — my puppy is happy!
I will keep using and would recommend to anyone else whose pet needs some exercise.

My cat died while under this service’s care.
After researching a number of pet care services, I hired «Jamboree Pet Care» to care for my single cat while I was out of the country, visiting family from 08−14−12 (AM) thru 09−03−12 (AM) — a total of 41 visits. I chose «Jamboree» based on stellar reviews on Unilocal.Their website also states they are bonded and insured, member of the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters, as well as trained in Pet First Aid.
I purposely hired a professional pet care service because I required someone to consistently come to my home twice daily, to not only feed my cat and clean her litter box, but more importantly, to look after her welfare; to make sure she ate her food, drank plenty of water and to spend quality time with her. My expectation of the petsitter was very clear: the well-​being of my cat was my utmost priority. I signed an «Emergency and Vet Authorization» form, which authorized «Jamboree» to seek appropriate medical treatment in the event of illness or injury and to make every effort to take the pet to the vet clinic I specified or any other veterinary clinic of their choosing. I agreed to reimburse «Jamboree» for all costs incurred (unlimited amount) as related to medical/​veterinary care for my cat.
Within a week of being away, I noticed my cat had lost a significant amount of weight based on the photos the petsitter sent twice daily. At no time did the petsitter notify me of urinating and defecating (diarrhea) outside her litter box, nor did she mention vomiting. My friend checked on my cat on 08−30−12 (evening) and found her in horrific conditions, hiding under the bed. My friend later said as she walked inside the house, the reeking smell inside was so overwhelming and nauseating, she initially thought my cat had died in there and was decomposing.
As my friend pulled her out from under the bed, which the petsitter never did, she could feel each vertebrae on her back. My friend referred to the sight of my cat as «walking dead». She found dried feces, urine and vomit throughout the house, which had caused that repulsive smell. Keep in mind, my friend entered the residence shortly after the petsitter supposedly visited my cat and sent me an email saying, «your cat was already downstairs when I walked in and was ready for her visit! I prepped her meal, took care of her litter box, turned off the AC, and closed the blinds.»
After leaving a message for the petsitter alerting her of what she apparently failed to notice herself, my friend made an emergency appointment with the vet for the next day. The vet was stunned and told me at a later meeting, she feared my cat probably would have died at home that same night had she not been brought in for immediate care. My cat was so dehydrated and underweight (went from 7.7lbs to 5.1lbs within 2 weeks, lost a third of her body weight), they were unable to draw enough blood for a full blood panel. X-​rays taken showed my cat had developed tumors throughout her body and was extremely ill. At that point she was diagnosed too weak to even survive anesthesia should I had opted for emergency surgery. I was left with no other choice than to have her euthanized to end the painful existence she had endured while under the care of «Jamboree». I was forced to make that decision from 6000 miles away.
As a professional pet care service «Jamboree» failed miserably. Although my cat’s illness was not caused by «Jamboree», they failed to recognize obvious signs of illness (i.e. hiding, not eating, excessive vomiting, diarrhea and urinating everywhere) and seeking immediate veterinary care. My cat had to suffer unnecessarily for a prolonged period of time, because the petsitter did not pay the proper attention to her! She seemingly ignored my cat’s odd behavior, physical appearance and the reeking smell. It was their duty to notify me and/​or the veterinarian immediately if they noticed behavior that is consistent with an ill cat.
At a later face-​to-​face meeting with PJ (Owner), I was able to explain all the above to her and received an apology. PJ explained to me she was unaware of the above and was only consulted by the petsitter about our concerns the day my cat was taken to the vet by my friend. I did get a refund «for the visits they weren’t able to do», shortly after my cat was euthanized. I have not heard from the petsitter since the day she last visited my ill cat.
Although I hope my case is the exception and it will never happen to anyone again, I feel it is necessary to inform the public and let everyone take my experience into account when considering «Jamboree» for their pet care needs. I certainly would never recommend this service to anyone seeking pet care exceeding a couple of days.

PJ is always responsive and has made herself or someone else from her team available when needed (even in an emergency situation). PJ is friendly and has my dog’s best interest in mind. I love the report card and online payment system! Thanks! :-)

Jamboree Pe Care is the best! The reason they are the best, is because, not only do they provide the best service for what you are contracting them to do but, they are the best because they genuinely care about your animals. They are honest and caring people that I trust not only with my babies but to come into my home! I especially like that they inform me as to my dog’s business done so that I know if they still need to do it when I get home. Their little notes and updates are much appreciated. Hope they stay around forever!

I have been using Jamboree for several years and totally love them. I can go on vacation and know that my dog Bona is being well cared for in her own home. She is not stressed when I get back and she knows that PJ will be coming to take her out for a nice walk.

Great Alternative to dog kennels and much cheaper especially if you have multiple pets. I absolutely love Jamboree Pet Care. PJ has been great with my three crazy dogs. I always come home from outta town trips to happy dogs as opposed to sad, homesick dogs when I had kenneled them. I always try to tip her extra for taking great care of my girls. I no longer stress about vacations and work trips bc I know I can count on PJ.

Jamboree pet care is wonderful! PJ is so reliable and flexible– I would not have been able to get through nursing school without her (well, I would have had some very unhappy, neglected pets!) Highly recommend!

I can’t say enough good things about Jamboree Pet Care! Before we moved to San Diego we began looking for dog care options for our two big dogs. We are very particular because our dogs do not do well with other animals and are not always the most obedient when they get excited. Based on previous Unilocal reviews Jamboree seemed like they would fit the bill for our needs, and they have far exceeded our (very high) expectations!
PJ came over to meet our dogs and talk about the details before the first Jamboree overnights in May 2011. While the most important thing to us was how good she was with our dogs, I was really struck by how organized and smart Jamboree is (e.g., they request an extra set of keys that they keep in a safe at their office in case of a pet sitter emergency, she brought with her a file folder with all our info and jotted down notes as we talked). We’ve had great dogsitters in the past who loved our dogs and the dogs loved them, but never had great dogsitters who were also SUCH great business owners as those at Jamboree!
Given the outstanding care, superb organization, excellent price, and regular communication we received from PJ in our first Jamboree experience, we knew then we would not consider going elsewhere for dog care for as long as we were in San Diego. Probably since July 2011 PJ has taken our dogs on a walk every Tuesday since my husband and I have long days at work, and she or Steve have also walked them on other days when things have come up (we’ve always contacted them a few days prior to the walk). They’ve spent a number of additional multi-​night overnights with the dogs since that first one, as well. Jamboree has always responded to requests within a day and on one occasion when one of our dogs had a health issue called us immediately. They have never canceled anything we have scheduled.
In summary, we cannot imagine a better company with better people to take care of our «kids» and think we have the experience to say that future customers will NOT be disappointed!

This review is long overdue. I’ve been using Steve and PJ’s services for a year. Steve is so good with my dogs, who are not always the easiest guys to care for.
THis weekend I got stranded out of town because of weather and Steve visited my dogs 4 extra times and even watered my Christmas tree! He always leaves me very nice notes about all the activities that went on when I was gone. Their prices are reasonable but more importantly they are reliable, trustworthy and very caring. I never feel stressed when I leave out of town anymore!

I highly recommend Jamboree Pet Care! PJ watched my two cats for me for two months last summer while I was out of the country, and she did a fantastic job! I came home to an organized home, and two healthy happy felines. I also made a last minute call over the Christmas holiday and she was able to fit me in. She was super friendly toward me and my pets, and even brought treats for them on her initial visit. She also wrote up a little paragraph about each time she visited outlining what she did, how the pets were behaving, and anything else of concern. I have since moved away and am sad that I can no longer utilize her services.

I have nothing but good things to say about Jamboree Pet Care. I highly reccomend them to anyone. My husband is in the Navy and as a result is gone most of the time. I work a high-​stress long-​hour corporate job and I was really worried my doggie wasn’t getting enough exersice during the week. PJ is available whenever I need her. I never have a set schedule of days I know I’ll need a dog walker. I just contact her at the beginning of the week and she’s available for whatever days I need. She leaves notes about how the walk went and how sweet my dog is to her. Very pleased with the service and will continue to use it as long as I live in San Diego.

Jamboree rocks the pet care world! PJ came by for the initial consultation, and took enough time to acquaint herself our cat Zoe and make sure she got everything just right. She bonded with Zoe, and sent daily text messages to let us know how she was doing. Jamboree also offers a small discount when you mention Unilocal

Not trusting our roommates to take care of our two cats, me and my husband contacted Jamboree to watch them. PJ came over before our trip to talk about the cats and their care. Everyone of the some 10 days we were gone she texted us an update about how the cats were doing. I found myself really looking forward to the texts. PJs very nice and really knows animals. She got our very nervous and shy cat to come out of hiding. Once we got home we found the cats in great condition. They were happy and looked fantastic, having been brushed every day. PJ even left paper notes in addition to the texts. Those were great to read, well what I could read seeing as one of the cats had chewed up the paper haha.
In all I would highly recommend Jamboree and would use them again in a heart beat.

After a bad experience with another dog walker, we were a little nervous about finding a new one. Luckily, Jamboree Pet Care has really come through. PJ is very sweet, but most importantly our dog seems to love her. She leaves funny & cute notes about their walk and I really look forward to coming home and reading about our mutt’s crazy antics. Its clear that she cares about our dog and the prices are great if you buy a package. I’d highly recommend them!

I have never used a petsitting service before, and was nervous to trust someone I didn’t know to care for my kitty while I was on vacation, so I looked into a lot of places. I was very happy with Jamboree and PJ. She clearly loves animals and was very understanding and professional. She sent me a text message everyday to let me know how everything was going, and she was very specific about things that are unique to my cats personality, so I knew that she was really providing quality care. For the services they provide, the prices are very reasonable. Most importantly, my cat was her happy, affectionate self when we returned, rather than upset by the absence as in the past. I would definitely use Jamboree again.

This is a GREAT dog sitting/​walking service. Very professional, but also very friendly! Their sitters and walkers clearly love animals and got along great with both of my dogs. We just needed them to walk and feed our dogs while we were out of town, but they went above and beyond with their service. They sat down with us to go over details and to get to know the dogs, plus they provided a little day-​by-​day status report of how the dogs were doing while we were gone. We had total peace of mind during our trip! And their prices are outstanding!
