Rude and over-priced, definitely not worth the hype. I don’t mean to be rude to everyone whose left a review, but… Seriously?! Have you had fresh seafood before?! Ok, yeah that taste is ok but would probably taste a lot better if this guy had better customer service Very unfortunate because I was looking forward to trying this place

Visited the food truck last night at New English brewery and loved it! Couldn’t get enough… Enjoyed several courses including the Garlic Edamame, Takoyaki(Octopus ball), Cream Sweet and Spicy Shrimp Tempura, Crispy Rice Spicy Tuna and the Ahi Poke Bowl. All of the food is amazing and the way it is presented is really cool too. The chef, Koji did an amazing job and for what he is charging it just doesn’t get any better. Would definitely recommend checking this out to anybody looking for truly authentic Japanese cuisine.

I couldn’t believe that Japanese food could be so good from a food truck. There was a bit of a wait but that was understandable, there is only one guy running the whole show. The wait was totally worth it! The blue crab hand rolls were delicious, the nigiri platter was excellent, and the spicy tuna crispy rice rolls were to die for. The spicy garlic edamame was a great finger food. Yoji was very nice and respectful! I look forward to stopping by every Wednesday.

Despite all the remarks made on his social media page about its name, Chef Koji puts authenticity into REAL Japanese-made sushi. I came across this big trailer in front of the Poseidon bar one night at Mission Bay and decided to give it a try. I ordered the Crispy Tuna Roll & Super Bueno Roll. Omg! Absolutely amazing! I’ve never eaten sushi done by a Japanese chef before and, I gotta say, it was an unforgettable experience on my palate. The tuna, FRESH! The rice, FRESH. The wasabi, pretty FRESH. The price was on point. You pay pretty much the same as an AUTHENTIC Sushi place with the exception that it’s done by a REAL Japanese chef. Real eats! Chef Koji, you’re a real cool guy plus you have just made me a HUGE fan. I hope I get to see you around again real soon! Hope you like my pics!

Chef Koji kills it!!! We stopped by Posieden Project this weekend for a few beers and were intrigued by the pristine metal trailer parked out front. Inside the kitchen is beautifully emaculate and organized. The service was very friendly. The menu looked amazing, we tried three dishes: Seared Ahi Salad — Great salad with perfectly prepared Ahi, a little peppery, a little spicy. Tempura Truffle Brussel Sprouts — All of those words are fantastic by themselves, now imagine the all of them in one dish, so good! Lastly and the reason I am writing this review is the Crispy Sushi Rice w/Spicy Tuna — AMAZING! I have been craving it since first bite. My biggest mistake was not ordering two orders. I can’t wait to try the ramen and the blue crab hand roll. I’ll be on the lookout for this food truck! Thank you Chef Koji!!!

Blue crab hand roll! Taste so fresh! If you like blue crab this stuff will do something real nice to your taste buds. Had me crossing my fingers that I’d find JAP in a box again.

Amazing japanese food! I lived in Japan for over a year and this is the real thing. I visited this truck at Ballast Point Home Brew Mart, and had some authentic takoyaki(octopus with batter in little ball form) and a seared salmon roll. Everything was prepared quickly and expertly. It was only after chatting with the owner that I realized that he had no staff and it was only his third day with a food truck! ! Amazing job so far, I look forward to visiting many more times. Only regret is that the credit card reading app did not allow me to leave a tip — I know tips aren’t customary in Japan but please take advantage of this here in America, especially because some people like me don’t carry cash!
