JB’s Clean Carpets

I’m a bit disappointed about writing this updated review. I recommended JB’s to my cousin (who is the sweetest ever) because I had a great experience a few years ago. She just told me what happened: she called for a quote and gave him information about the property. He then asked where she was located and she said Rancho Bernardo. He said he didn’t service that area. She then asked if he had any recommendations and he said «they don’t socialize well» (not even sure what that’s supposed to mean. She then asked how far up do they service and he said, «Okay bye» and hung up. She said he wasn’t rude during the conversation but only when he abruptly hung up.
She was moving out of her condo to another house so she might have wanted to clean that home as well. I feel as though it was rude and I am embarrassed for recommending this company to her. Perhaps he should list the locations that he services on his website. Regardless, this kind of customer service isn’t acceptable to me.

Everything about my experience was wonderful. Easy to book, arrived on time, professional, and the carpets look great after he was finished. He did a through job and really get the carpets clean. I would recommend him and use his service again.

I was very pleased with the cleaning service provided. Easy communication, friendly and he arrived on time. Jack is very hard-​working and it shows in the finished product. So clean and the place smells great! I would highly recommend him for your carpet cleaning needs.

We’ve used JB’s Clean Carpets twice now, and we absolutely love him!
We have a two bed/​two bath condo located on the top floor of our complex. When shopping around for a carpet cleaner, it was difficult to find someone who had a portable machine AND at a reasonable price, and lucky for us– we found JB’s Clean Carpets!
Jack is a hard worker, honest, on-​time, and very friendly. He does an excellent job on cleaning and is very efficient. We are always more than happy with the condition of our carpets and couch when he leaves, and would definitely recommend him!

It doesn’t get any easier than calling JB. I just booked him for the 4^th time in 6 years and I don’t think I’ll hesitate to keep using him.

This guy was a nice as can be and did a great job on a dirty rug. It didn’t come out as clean as I hoped but that wasn’t his fault– just a dirty rug. I will recommend him for future jobs as he was in time and very nice!

I booked 1 week in advance. Very easy to set up my appointment and he gave me a hour window and he showed up on time and once again he did an amazing job!
He is a great guy who really takes pride in his work and does not rip you off with high prices like other places do. Jack gets straight to the point when you call him and I totally get that. He is definitely a person I highly recommend and will do a great job.

My carpets look brand new again! Can’t beat the price– $ 90 for almost my entire house. Jack got out some really difficult stains, especially on my staircases. Interesting guy! Highly recommend: A++.

I hired Jack based on the prices on his website and the reviews on Unilocal.I originally was going to go with a company that was recommended to me, but their prices were more than double the price that he quoted me.
Not only was I impressed (and shocked) at how reasonable his prices were, but also that he was a very honest and hardworking man.
I needed to have my carpets cleaned for a move-​out. He informed me that he doesn’t take checks for move outs, which was fine I had already gotten cash out of the ATM expecting to pay cash. My apartment was a little under 1,000 square feet. It was a two bedroom, two bathroom condo with no carpet in the hallway. He quoted me over the phone $ 65 dollars. My mouth dropped at this point and I immediately booked him (the other company wanted $ 130 plus an extra $ 20 for bringing their portable unit and that was only the quote). When he got to my apartment he walked through it and said it was going to be $ 65. He said there were a few stains that he wasn’t sure were going to come out, which worried me because my old landlord was a total snot about the carpet. (Not only did he get them out he made the carpet look brand new again!). I will definitely be hiring him again for future move-​outs, and annually if we stay in our apartment for more than a year.
Jack is a hard-​worker. He cleaned my condo in under two hours and did a SPECTACULAR job. I would recommend him to anyone that needed to have their carpets cleaned and wants a fair, honest, and reliable company. Personally I would rather support a small business than a large company that is going to try to upsell me and could care less about what they are doing or who I am. He might not have all their fancy gadgets, but he does one helluva good job and he’s an interesting character to boot!
My recommendation? Call two weeks in advance, because he books up quickly. And tip him! He deserves it for how hard he works! I know he was worth every penny!

Thanks to a neighbor’s word-​of-​mouth recommendation I was able to cancel a Grupon deal that never panned out (i.e., business never answered my voicemail for an appointment over 5 days) and call Jack instead.
In line with other Unilocalers, JB Carpet cleaner is a VERY good value to have your carpeting professionally cleaned. Jack came early to my downtown location and immediately gave a very reasonable price to clean the «rat tracks» between the three rooms of my small condo.
All-​in-​all his service went non-​stop in time to beat his two hour parking meter. I’m very satisfied and will be recommending his business to all friend & co-​workers. He gave my older carpeting another 2 – 3 years at least, if I call him every summer now for annual maintenance.

Jack was very nice and was very reasonably priced for an oversized sectional sofa cleaning. We will definitely be calling him again for any future upholstery cleaning.

Hired JB to clean my carpets post move out, and he did a fantastic job! He gave me a window of 3 – 5, and called me at 2:45 to let me know he was on his way. The price was super inexpensive and the quality was stellar! I will definitely hire him again.

Best carpet cleaning job I’ve ever had — and best price. Jack’s a really nice guy too — and I bet you’ll never have your carpet cleaned by an Olympic athlete again (swimming medalist, just ask him).

Jack Babashoff not only runs a great, affordable carpet cleaning business in San Diego– he was a a former Olympic silver medal swimmer along with his sister Shirley! You could see how he achieved this in his life, as even today he went the extra mile to get the coffee stains out of my carpet and give me some good advice on how to treat carpet stains in the future. Great service, great guy and a great clean carpet result!

It was by coincidence that I accidentally had hired Jack twice in my 5 years living here in San Diego! I was very happy with the result for both times!
Jack runs a honest and great business. Although he doesn’t have all that fancy technologies I imagine other competitors may have, he is reliable and hard working. The number for the business is his cellphone. He is not great with texting he said so he will get on the phone with ya. He will give you an estimate base on what you tell him your situation is (carpet area, tricky corners, dirtiness, 2^nd floors) and I find his estimate very affordable! Jack also is very punctual and quite interesting to talk to. He will come to your place with this cleaning machine (looks like a big old school vacuum) and he’ll need to connect to a hot water source and dumpout the dirt his machine sucked up (water, stuff in the carpet) and usually those go in the toilet/​tub or trash. Both of my jobs (2 – 3 bedroom house/​apt) took 2 hours to clean and about overnight to dry completely. Really good price for the service, cash only, and tip well! :)
I highly recommend this business! Also, if you have him slaving away cleaning your dirty carpets and you find yourself wanting to be social, ask him about his life stories, he’s an interesting man!

Jack is an interesting man. I found Jack on Unilocal and scheduled an appointment with him for a Friday for 2 p.m. I called him around 3:30 p.m. when he didn’t show up. He was brash and said he had me down for the following Friday, and said I got the date wrong. I hung up the phone and he called right back, apologized and said I had the correct date and he got his dates confused.
We rescheduled and he agreed to give me $ 10 off for the mistake (originally $ 70 for a 4-​bedroom but knocked it down to $ 10).
He got the job done but made a mess in the bathroom where he threw dirty water from his machine down our toilet. He also told me about some of his past clients, which I didn’t care to hear him gossip about. After he was finished, he said he’d charge $ 90 in the future for a house our size.
Jack is pretty disorganized and wishy-​washy about his prices so I wouldn’t use him again.

Literally as good as it gets. I’m so glad my roommates and i found Jack.
We have two dogs that live to make messes. Our first place was a three bedroom three story condo in La Mesa. We had two big flights of stairs, and everything was carpet. There was no yard, and when we first got the dogs we had a hard time training them to go outside. So after a disappointing experience with another carpet cleaner, we called Jack and he made the carpets look like new again. It was amaazzzing! I thought pet stains were permanent but he made them go away. We had him clean the carpets right before we moved out ad we got our full deposit back and I am positive if it wasn’t for him, they would’ve tried to replace the carpets.
Our second place was a small apartment right next to a huge park. So of course, mud, dirt, and more dog shenanigans made for gross carpets. Jack cleaned the crud out of those carpets literally. Once again, amazing.
We recently moved to a unit with all hardwood, so we won’t be seeing Jack for awhile (he’s probably grateful) but seriously, if you’re looking for a miracle working carpet cleaner, this is the guy. And he is definitely the most reasonable in prices!

Great job and very good price. He cleaned two large rooms and hallway and the work is very detailed. Only problem is his prices are so low. So I padded a little extra. You can walk on the carpet right away, but with no shoes because it is a bit moist. But he said to leave the windows open and it should dry up in a couple hours.
Great job JB! I’ll be calling you again for service. Unless I decide to replace my carpet with wood floors.
