most people who are in business will not give recommendations about other companies. i appreciate that they were willing to do that for me even if they don’t make a profit.

VERY PLEASED INDEED!!! I took my CRV to get serviced and they did a very good job. There was a broken sensor for the airbags and thought it was a $ 350 part. They ordered the part and I took it back there today. They took the seat apart and after testing it they came to realize it was not the $ 350 part but was in fact a $ 77 part. They ordered that part for me and are fixing it as soon as the part comes in. They did not charge me for the labor work they did today tearing the seat apart. I am so happy right now. I recommend them for sure…

About a year after I relocated to SD, I began taking my car here for service (roughly 7 years) Joe & Sylvia run an honest and efficient shop, are always friendly to me, never recommend needless repairs, and keep my car running perfectly. My Honda turns 16 years old this month and I have JC Honda to thank for keeping it running like a charm. I wouldn’t bring it anywhere but here for service.

We brought our 1993 Honda Accord in because the power steering fluid was leaking. We thought we needed a rebuilt pump. The dealer had estimated $ 800 to replace the pump. JC looked at the car and said the pump was actually fine, but we needed some hoses replaced. They could easily have just rebuilt the pump but instead they gave us an honest diagnosis. We ended up spending only $ 140 for this repair and are completely satisfied.

The only place to take your vehicle. Joe is the ‘Car Whisperer’. It’s as simple as that.

This placed is great. Joe is knowledgable and honest. He helped me out in a pinch when my clutch died on New Year’s eve at 4;50 p.m. — I called the shop and he was still there, and waited for me to get my car towed to him. He also kept my car running after another mechanic had told me to junk it. Friendly and service-​oriented!

Great, honest people! I have taken my Lexus, 4runner and Sequoia next door to TLC for 10+ years and was referred to JC when I bought a Nissan Z. They don’t push unnecessary repairs and their prices (if needed) are very reasonable. I just sent out a shout-​out on facebook and wanted to share with Unilocal as well! Save your $$$ and see JC if a dealer tells you costly repairs are needed.

As the sign on the wall says in their reception area, «Good Work Ain’t Cheap». Joe & Silvia do a great job trying their best to work in this competitive industry of auto repair and they do a great job. I had to fix my 2001 Honda Accord because of Engine troubles and I cannot afford mistakes. They did a very good job. I would recommend their services to people with Acura or Honda.

I have never written a review on Unilocal,but the outstanding customer service I always receive here warranted a review. This is a mom & pop shop and you will not find more honest and trustworthy people anywhere! My family has 3 Hondas and I wouldn’t trust their care to anyone else. The owners will let you know honestly what needs to be done, and if it isn’t necessary they won’t do it. They are thoughtful and caring, not to mention fantastic at their jobs! If you own a Honda you need to go here!

My car died on 11/​19/​2013 driving back to San Diego from Julian, a day later we managed to get it into the shop (thanks to help from Eagle Gas & LP and A&D Towing.) Because JC Service had worked on the car recently they gave the car a full inspection at no cost to determine if their was any faulty mechanic work. Joe, the owner, walked me through what they did for the inspection and showed me the cause (a puncture hole through the oil pan — weird! and not caused by a mechanic.) It was his help after that which impressed me most. First off, he gave me a few suggestions for how I might repair the car. As I didn’t have money for repairs he offered to contact some of his other customers who were in the market for a car (as he would be able to make it run again.) Through his assistance and persistent efforts I was able to sell the car in the time frame I needed and the car has a new life!

This is how car repair should be done.
After getting a quote for over $ 900 to replace all four rotors and pads from the dealer I decided to buy my own parts online and have a local shop do the labor. I called up JC Service based on their excellent rating here and received a quote that’s considerably less than the average cost and they had an appointment available just a few days later.
I dropped off the car Monday morning and their parts manager was kind enough to give me a lift to work after driving another customer back home. He didn’t expect a thing for all of his time and effort and was very courteous to both of us. Very much an unexpected luxury.
The mechanics did exactly what I needed without up-​selling or insisting on unnecessary things. It was a simple, hassle-​free repair done in a short time for half the total cost I would have paid at the dealer!
Their competitor (rhymes with con-​mech) insisted that I pay more for labor since I wasn’t getting the parts from them and had the audacity to tell me straight-​faced that new rotors would need to be resurfaced. This would have cost twice as much had I not found JC.

Never had any problems with work done to my car. JC service is one of the few places I go to have work done due to being close to my job. The only turn off is the owners of the shop give you the impression that they prefer not to service LOWERED cars. Me: «Do you have a problem with my car being lowered? Them: «Well, we just have a problem putting lowered cars on the lift. «More effort is to be done to put the car under the lift supports.» I have gone to many other shops in the past and they say they never have a problem with lowered cars. My car is not slammed or ridiculously scraping the ground. It has a very clean stance.
Another note: Wow I’ve read the other review on the male owner yelling at the customer. Very bad. Bad day or not. Thats a no no. Remember folks, its not him working on your car. Its the tech behind the scenes working on your car. I’m still taking my car there for future service though because of the unknown mechanic that works on my car. I’ll just be careful to not piss the owner off. Ha ha
Anyways, If they want their business to thrive, they need to accomedate lowered vehicles.

Professional and honest shop. Which is rare when you are talking about car repair. Joe is awesome and very knowledgeable about Honda cars. They gave me an estimate and the actual repair invoice was exactly the same. All repairs were done in less than 1 day.
Highly recommended.

ZERO STARS! I’ve never been treated like this. I was in total shock.
I have no idea if I walked in the line of fire BUT I will never come back to this place again! I called on a Friday at 5:05 p.m. Since I did not get a call from anyone about whether my car was ready. Spoke to Joe and he said I can pick up my car after I declined the recommended repairs which 1 of them was an oil change. I just got an oil change. I got there in 15 minutes.
If you know me, you’d know I communicate well and with manners. I chose to mention that no one called me about my car and I was just wondering because usually they call me because it’s Friday and I wouldn’t have my car all weekend.
Joe turned around and started yelling at me… Did say he just called me,(he must’ve forgotten I just gt off the phone with him.) etc… Couldn’t make out what he was yelling but he was yelling so much he actually was spitting from behind the counter.
I told him I’m a repeat customer (been there 3 other times and was happy with service) and I’m shocked that he was yelling at me.
I said…“First of all, you need to stop yelling at me. I don’t understand why you are treating me this way because I’m the one that called you. I’m here and I just paid for the «check-​up. But I highly suggest you not yelling at your customers. He said he had a bad day… Well you can’t take it out on me.
His wife (sorry I forgot her name) walked out from the back room and just looked at me. My friend had to come inside from the car because she could hear him yelling at me. Wow!

Just had my car serviced here, got the 90,000 mile service which was significantly cheaper than the dealership and they use all Honda parts. Let me say there is no replacement for the years of experience these guys have. The level of service and communication about the issues is top notch. You don’t stay in business for as long as they have with the same staff unless you are doing something right.
Because they specialize on Hondas, they are familiar with vehicle specific issues that other mechanics might not be and aren’t afraid to tell you the actual issues that you need or might not need to fix unlike the big dealership guys.
I’ve have been searching for an honest mechanic that charges a fair price and does quality work and I am so glad I found these guys.
Sylvia is a pleasure to deal with on the phone, and one of the other times I called I actually spoke to the mechanic who worked on my car, so you are talking to people who are familiar with your issues, and receive very personalized service that can only be had a small independent shop like this.

I’ve been taking my car here for years. Well, cars actually. I used to take my car to the Honda Dealer repair shop, while they are good, they are also damn expensive. My mom recommended JC Service to me years ago and I am so happy she did. It’s the same as taking your car to the expensive dealer repair shop, but at a fraction of the cost. Topnotch quality and service at a great price. They always give you a heads up of what your car needs and if it’s urgent or not. I like that. They don’t try to up sell you expensive service you don’t really need. They just give it to you straight; so if they say something is urgent, I know it REALLY is.
I think my mom told me that the guy that owns this shop used to work at Honda, so he’s certified the same as the dealer workshop is. The customer service is great, everyone is very knowledgeable and super nice. They have given me rides to work when I needed it (and picked me up when my car was ready); I’ve even dropped my car off the night before so I didn’t have to add that extra errand in the morning (not a morning person at all).
The greatest compliment I can give them is that I have a Honda Del Sol 97 and it runs as great as the day I first bought it brand new. How many people can say that about a car they’ve had for more than a decade? And, when you take your car there for service, they even give you the extra added service of making sure you come back to find your car better than you left it (they clean the windows, etc).
If you are looking for an HONEST, COMPETENT, FRIENDLY mechanic, look no further. It doesn’t get any better than this. Also, if you have a Toyota, there is the same type of shop next to them run by someone that used to work at JC Service. I haven’t worked with them, but did talk to them about my friends Toyota when she was looking for a mechanic. They were very very helpful and gave her a lot of different scenarios over the phone, extremely helpful, and not pushy at all.
Also, you can trust JC Service referrals. If they recommend someone, they know firsthand who they are recommending. I was looking to get my car painted (most of the paint had practically worn off), but I didn’t want a $ 5,000 paint job, something between $ 500-​$ 1000 max. They recommended a great place. So, now my car not only runs great, it looks great again.
JC Service is great!!!

This place is the only spot Ill be bringing my hondas from now on.

When Pacific Honda couldn’t figure out how to plug a computer into my Honda Passport, Joe whips out a single resistor and using his multimeter fixed my gas gauge issues.
NOT ONLY DID HE FIX IT!!! But he let me drive home and told me to settle up with him if the fix worked… that is unheard of!
Compared to JC Service, Pacific Honda are Jokes!

My car finally would up there finally after a bad experience with another shop [Kwons Auto].
Don’t make the mistake I did, just go to JC Service the 1^st time and get it done right.
Don’t be scared off by their slightly higer quoted prices and lead time. It’s worth it and they usually over deliver.

Reason #1: They were a 2^nd opinion and told me that I did not need all the service and parts that Pep Boys said I did. They also found out that my radiator was cracked when Pep Boys did not.
Reason #2: They recommended a part that I needed but also told me that if I did not have the funds to take care of it at the moment that there was definitely no rush and that I wouldn’t really need it done for a few more months anyway.
Reason #3: Joe, Silvia & Keno were all very friendly and explained everything to me so that I new what they were talking about. They also showed me the issues with my car visually.
Reason #4: I actually got food poisoning the day I was there and while speaking with Joe outside the shop I got extremely sick and to put it politely I coughed up my lunch in the bushes. They immediately got me some pepto bismol and a 7up to make sure I was ok.
I don’t think it gets any better than this for a mechanic especially if you have a Honda or Acura because that is their specialty. They receive my highest recommendation.

I love Joe and Sylvia and the whole team! I was referred to this shop perhaps 2.5 years ago and have found their work to be honest, speedy and with no up-​sell. The owner, Joe, has done many things for my vehicle for VERY reasonable prices. Many things he’s repaired for almost nothing or half the labor. Once, when my brakes needed repair from a terrible Midas brake job 2 years before– and I was broke-​Joe said I could just do the back brakes and come back in a month for the front brakes. They truly are an HONEST business. No BS, they will tell you whether or not something MUST BE done or if it can wait a little. And that is so hard to find when it comes to repairing your vehicle.
Also, if you fail smog, take it to JC! They will not only repair your vehicle but take it down the street and have it smog tested for you (you only pay the ~$ 40 smog test fee) until you pass; all info is sent to the DMV. EASY!
