Jeff Ward Hardwood

This floor man, if there were six stars, I would’ve given that to him. Cost more? Not really when you consider the amount of time and care he takes to turn floors into «museums,» as he said about the complicated, dog/​cat stains from decades ago in my old house build in 1915 over in South Park. He made the room with the soaked-​thru urine stains shine and covered up the stains with a blend of ebony and dark brown stain, turned it into a magnificant room, particularly attractive against the original hardwood wainscoting.
All the work is done by him and he has 30 years of experience, so his suggestions were gold. He blended in white oak over where an old floor furnace grate left a 4X2’ hole and you can’t even tell it ever was there. Same for another floor furnace in the douglas fir hallway. His idea was to take original fir from a bedroom closet there to blend in with the same age wood and put fresh fir in its place in the closet. Beautiful job.
I higly recommend Jeff for your floors – «It’s all I do,» says he. I’m going to have him replace the termited maple boards in the 1911 house we live in, and there’s a lot of boards that need changing out. I have complete faith in Jeff to sculpt those maple floors into another museum.

We interviewed three contractors for our job to replace all of the first floor for my wive’s Mother. Jeff arrived on time, was the only one who recognized a couple of current flooring problems right after he entered the home. He was courteous and very respectful of our Mother, and effective with his estimate and work needs. We scheduled the job with him, and it was executed according to plan. We have had hardwood flooring installed in two other homes in another part of the US, which were good jobs… they do not compare to Jeff’s work. this was the most professional job we have encountered. We could write a thousand words, but the most important things we can say about Jeff is that he is honest, tells it like it is, does what he says he can do, and just gets the job done really well… what more can one ask?
Anyone needing quality hardwood flooring should use this fellow, without reservation.

I recently bought a home built in 1939 that had some original hardwood floors (12×14 and 8×10) that were covered with some carpet and a coat of paint for who the hell knows why. The hardwood was pretty beat up but I was hoping to restore it and really make the house look a lot nicer.
Enter Jeff. He came by for an initial consultation and spent over an hour checking the floor and said that he could restore it. Jeff is really friendly and has been at this for about 30 years so I immediately felt comfortable working with him. The passion he has for his craft really comes through.
He was able to schedule me for the following week to start the job. He replaced some boards that had termite damage and then sanded everything down so that all the old nail and staple holes from the carpet disappeared. Then he matched the stain to the other flooring in the house so that you can’t tell the two different floors apart. Jeff did an awesome job and the 90+ year old hardwood now looks brand new. He was even able to refinish a trap door and keep it functional. Jeff did great work, was a lot of fun to have around, and was very reasonable in his price. If I ever need to do more hardwood flooring I know who to call.

Wow — sometimes you find a great guy. Jeff was it. He said, and after completing the job I believe him, «I don’t know how to do a bad job.» My project was a medium size job — I had a 266 sq ft refinishing hardwood floors job. The floors had been carpeted forever. There were a few bad boards (temites, rot) and an 8′ sq ft section that had been plywooded for a hot water heater. The house was a rental and had carpet throughout. I was nervous about what may lay beneath the carpet since my husband had already warned me «we may be opening a can of worms and biting off more than we could chew.» Jeff was sensitive to this possibility and my concern. As he proceeded to pull back the carpet and unearth the hardwood — finding the rotten board here and there, he kept telling me… you dont’ have to finish this job. (alerting me that I could push back the carpet and call it a day.) «just pay me twenty bucks for my time. But, I was impressed with his estimation of the job throughout the process. He knew what he was talking about. So, even though removing the carpet revealed several bad spots, I felt like I was dealing with a pro and approved to proceed with the job. To put a long story short, he replaced maybe 8 sq ft of flooring, charged me little, clearly took pride in his work, finished the job on time, was reliable. When you walk into the house, your first impression is… «wow, these floors sparkle, this house is awesome.» Every single prospective tenant that viewed the house after the floors had been refinished filled out an application with a $ 50 app fee. He is now and forever my go to floor guy. I’m not totally sure how Unilocal referrals work, Jeff doesn’ have a large number of referrals since he’s not that tech savvy guy who gives you his card wirth a Unilocal logo on the back, but I guarantee you will be happy with his work. Also and PS: he was lots of fun to have on the job and continued to regale with fun stories and facts of life. Great guy… wish I could give you my contact info… looking forward to reading follow up reviews of his projects and pride of workmanship. He’s your guy.

Jeff is a great guy & did an excellent job refinishing our original 1925 oak floors. He even repaired/​replaced 3 really bad patch-​jobs & a few termite-​eaten boards, and now those areas look seamless – you would never know there was ever a problem. He brought out the beauty & character that was hidden in our floors. He is very honest, reliable, hard-​working & really cares about the quality of his work. His pricing is very reasonable, and he even cleans-​up after himself! :-)

Jeff just completed refinishing our 63 year-​old oak floors (living room, two bedrooms, dining area and hallway). He did a superb job, completing it on time and at the quoted cost. He is a a fastidious and very diligent worker who arrived promptly each day. He had to replace a significant number of termite-​damaged boards and you cannot tell where the new wood is. The floor finish is flawless and extremely smooth. He previously refinished the floors in my mother-in-law’s house and it was done to the same high standard.

What a remarkable craftsman! Jeff is really first rate at restoring hardwood floors to their natural beauty. He has great pride in his workmanship and the end result is clearly evident. Since Jeff has completed restoring my beautiful oak floors so many of my friends have commented on how great they look. Jeff is clearly the best at restoring floors to a better than new appearance and he is affordable.
