Joelle’s Salon and Day Spa

I saw a hair dresser named something like Hanya during holidays she has her station facing the window of street view. I had to see her again to fix the faded orange highlights terrible highlights where the blonde did not show up after she used a heavy toner and low-​lights done. The inside of my hair is so ghetto I can’t wear a pony tail or hair pulled back. The 2^nd visit is a re-​do she fixed the hair highlights that show up outside on top of hair but it worsen if I put my hair behind my ears. She’s the sweetest lady with a 3 year old daughter and works 3x a week. I do not have the heart to tell the owner, she would lose her job, I’m sure. She has persuaded me to go back for some freebies, it is NOT worth it.

Ashley Gray is amazing!!! She has cut and colored my hair for many many years and always does a fantastic job! She’s a perfectionist in a good way! Each time I see her she works her magic and my hair looks beautiful!!! I have never been disappointed with her work! If I ever was, she would do whatever was needed to make it right!

This review is for Steven. I recently got my hair straightened using the Yuko System (Japanese Hair Straightening). My hair is usually very frizzy and hard to manage in the mornings. Steven is very knowledgeable. He used to be a teacher on Japanese Hair Straightening. He was very professional throughout the treatment and he did his best to put me at ease and made sure I was comfortable. He always checked if I was doing okay, offered me beverages, and made sure I had time to go to the restroom. I also enjoyed the conversations we had. Near the end of the treatment, he taught me how to best care for my hair and gave me styling tips. I love how my hair looks and feels. I will definitely be going to Steven again.

I am so glad I found Ati! She is so friendly and professional. She will give you her expert advice and knows what’s best for your hair! I loveeeee the way she takes her time cutting and styling my hair. She is the BEST when it comes to color anddd cutting bangs! Her availability is great and makes time for those last minute, much needed appointments! She uses great AVEDA products that is gentle but amazing on the hair. Call and book with Ati! I’ve been going to Joelle’s since early 2015 for Brazilian waxes by Mahela and she is fantastic! She can do the full (all the way to the back) waxing under 10 minutes and with minimal pain. She’s professional, clean, and a great conversationalist –which is important so that it’s not awkward when you have someone all up in your lady bits lol. I’m a Bellus Academy esthetician grad so I know waxing front and backwards and I’m insanely picky on who I let wax me depending on their technique, waxes used, positions they put you in. Mahela is great all around, I highly, highly recommend her.
When I was I going last year I was pregnant (had my baby in Nov, 2015) so she waxed me before the belly popped out and 2 weeks before I went into labor and they were always great visits and experiences.

Wow! Stephanie Parker saved my hair from ultimate disaster. She is very skilled and knowledgeable about products and styling. I have never looked or felt better about my hair after her extensive services! This will be my go to salon from now on!

Elham is awesome!!! I have been searching for awhile now for someone who really knew what they were doing. I called to book an appointment without knowing who I would get, but have heard great things. Growing out an a-​line can be frustrating, but not with her! She took her time, talked me through it, and it is honestly the BEST cut I’ve had. I’m so impressed! I have an appointment in a couple weeks for my color, and can’t wait to see the results! I’m just so pleased to finally have found my new salon and person!

Hannah did an amazing job on my hair cut! I will be going back for some color! Highly recommend this salon and Hannah!

I come to Joelle’s to see Linh for my nails. She is amazing! I found her almost 8 years ago now and have only gone to her for my nails. I usually get the pink and white and a spa pedicure and Linh has never disappointed. She puts great care and detail in everything she does. I drive 30 minutes just to go to her and it’s worth it. If you’re looking for that one perfect nail place this is it.

This review is for my second time here for an ombré hair dye with Hannah. Hannah was great– she took the time to confirm every aspect of the process with me (style, color, etc) which I really appreciated. I ended up having to rush her towards the end of the process due to unforeseen circumstances but she was very understanding and worked with me to get the look I wanted while still finishing quickly. I would definitely recommend Hannah, as the look turned out great and she was incredibly accommodating.

After moving to the San Diego area from the Bay Area, I had a hard time finding someone who could do a good job with Japanese Straightening (Yuko System), until I found Steven. My hair is straight, shiny and no damage. Thank you Steven!
I had been to about 5 other stylist who claimed they were trained to do Japanese straightening, yet my hair never turned out right. If you are looking to get this process done, be careful who you go to. Steven is a great choice. He used to be a trainer for Yuko System and is very knowledgeable about the process.

This review is for Katie. I have seen her twice and both times she was on time and super friendly. She is very informative and gives her opinion as to what would look good. Last visit I got balayage, which turned out awesome! Katie is great I highly recommend her!

I was a little bummed she cut and gave me layers (not what i wanted)
But maybe she thought it looked better that way.
But been trying to grow it out, and the layers i just grew, had been recreated :(

Desiree is amazing! She always does my hair so fab plus she’s super nice & makes me feel so comfortable. I live in San Diego and don’t mind driving up at all it’s so worth it when you have such a great stylist. I get compliments all the time. I would say that if you don’t go to her you are truly missing out on a great experience.

I have gone to see Stephanie twice now and both experiences were great. Yesterday she worked on my highlights. This morning I am so incredibly happy with the color. She also gave me a haircut. I have very strange hair-​straight in places, frizzy, wavy and floppy in others. She was very thorough in finding out what I wanted and then making it work with my funky hair. Again, this morning after I styled it I love it!!! Exactly what I wanted.
And she was very nice and easy to chat with.

I’m so grateful I found Ashley Gray!!! I just moved to the San Diego area from Washington State. All my life I’ve always had my «go-​to» stylist so you can imagine how scary it was trying to find a new stylist.
I called the salon the morning I read the great reviews about Ashley and man it was my lucky day. I was able to be fit into her schedule for the same day, her first client at that. I went in with a dark brown/​black hair and left with a light chestnut color! My hair still feels as healthy as it did when I walked in, we didn’t even need to cut a strand off! She is amazing.
Ashley is a perfectionist and will not allow you to walk out if your hair is not to her standards. She is very honest with her work and if your wish is not attainable she will tell you up front. Or she will tell you the best way of getting to your goal. When you’re with her you’re in such good hands!

I have been going to Ashley Gray for over a year now and it was the best decision I have ever made when coming to my hair! I took a chance walking into a new salon and I wanted the best colorist they had for blondes! Ashley did not disappoint. She is an artist so just let her do her work! Like Ashley told me in my first appointment when I was nervous, your hair is your best accessory! I knew then I loved her because she was so right.
Not only do I get compliments on my color everywhere I go, Ashley has helped me transform the texture, length and health of my hair. She has showed me and explained the best hair products to use and I am so glad. My hair has grown and feels so much better! She is a genius when it comes to hair. I truly appreciate the time Ashley takes to color every strand of hair to perfection! She is through and you will walk out looking like a million bucks.

Ashley Gray is the best hairstylist hands down! She turned my very thick asian black hair into a nice golden blonde/​brunette without any unsightly brassy orange color that is typical in Asian hair. She is amazing at balayage, ombré, and sombre! She makes all 3 look very natural and sun kissed! She will also be honest with you and work with you to get the best look possible for your hair type. Her experience and expertise are unmatched and I always recommend her to friends and family!

Ashley Gray is the most talented hair stylist I have ever been to! She takes her time to create beautiful, natural color that lasts! I always get highlights and a cut and she consistently does stunning work! Ashley Gray will work wonders on your hair, no matter what type of hair you have. She is amazing! She listens to what you want and does what you ask. She is an awesome color specialist too! The amount of time she takes to do my hair is worth it, because my highlights last weeks longer than your typical 6 – 8 weeks highlight recommendation. She pays special attention to every detail when highlighting that you walk out of the salon feeling like a super model. She even takes time to trim my bangs between appts and fits me into her schedule based on what works for me. Three of my sisters and many of my friends have seen her and continue to see her regularly, because she is THAT good! Not one of them has ever been disappointed and you won’t be either!
Chrystal Nguyen is awesome at nails and is always willing to fit me in if I chip a nail between appointments. She take time and is careful about her work. You will love her! Lyn is also wonderful, and I love how closely her and Chrystal work together with their clients.
