Omg Kevin passed! Sad heart, without him I am not sure I am game to thiS biz. If my homie Nash says it isn’t the same, it might be so. A regular took over the spot. Might not be too shabby, should go by to support and check it out.

This WAS my favorite coffee shop in OB. But unfortunately the previous owner has passed and the new owners jacked up the prices and the coffee is not as good. There are lots of coffee places in OB and the one thing that made jumpstart awesome was Kevin, the owner, RIP

I’m always hesitant of these coffee stands but this fella’s coffee is pretty fricken good. Cheap as chips too, Americano and freshly baked muffin $ 3. Those are 1985 prices right there. Nineteen Eighty ‘Back to the Future’ five.

I’m not local to OB, but I found myself in the area at 7AM and in need of some coffee. Bottom line, Jumpstart Coffee Cart provides fantastic coffee, very good prices, and friendly staff all accessible just by pulling up and rolling your window down. I actually spotted their little «cart» while driving to a different coffee location that Unilocal was taking me to. Couldn’t be happier that I pulled a U-​turn and went here.

I love their high quality, budget friendly coffee! They have standard breakfast pastries and decent tea and coffee selection. Everything here is very straight forward and no-​frills. My favorite is the chai spiced latte with an added shot of espresso. There is only one man making all the coffee, but he is incredibly kind and makes each cup of java with lots of love. The seating is simple, clean, low-​key, and always have a few friendly people who are just looking for a good conversation. Sometimes when I get my coffee I’ll stay a bit to soak up the atmosphere before heading my way.
Let’s see how long this will stay a hidden gem in ocean beach (as it is on Unilocal now). It’s a standalone cart off Voltaire so keep an eye out for it! They open early and close at noon.
