This place is great! Clean facilities, great doctors and nurses who are courteous and on time. A doctors’ office so good, clean and peaceful that I actually look forward to getting my checkups.

This place is GREAT!
Probably the best doctor’s office I have been to inclusive of individual practices, other Kaiser facilities and Scripps. The building is beautiful, super modern and small enough that you’re not lost within. The staff were incredibly nice and helpful.
I couldn’t be more pleased with my choice to switch to Kaiser for 2016!

I came in to have a prescription filled. I waited for someone to acknowledge me in line. They are so short handed there that it took forever. By then it was 12:05p and I was told that their ONLY pharmacist had gone to lunch so that nothing could get filled until after she got back an hour later…
This facility needs better management. I’ve been in here once before and since I used the kiosk machine at the first floor door entrance to avoid the line at the front desk. I had no idea where Dr. Chan (not my primary doctor) was located, i.e. first floor, second floor, department number, etc. I was later told that he wasn’t a regular doctor there, as if that mattered or would help me find out how to get to his office area. Since there was still a big line at the receptionist desk, I waited to be called on the overhead system. That didn’t happen either, no overhead announcement. I ended up not seeing him and it was a wasted trip on time and gas. Had there been a list of doctors and where they’re located hanging off of the kiosk I could have found where this doctor was at.

Such a beautiful place and friendly environment. I swear it’s so nice nice that I can’t wait until I have have another medical visit. The staff are so welcoming and helpful that my experience went super smooth without a hitch. Thanks Kaiser staff/​doctors!

Great service. From walking in to get checked in to the end. Great friendly staff. Came in on my lunch hour and Rhodoro Madril checked me in for my lab and xrays. The doc put in wrong orders for the xray she went out of her way to run upstairs and have the doctor put in the new order so I can get in and out on a timely fashion. The lab people were very friendly and quick. Love it.

Never in my lifetime would I have thought I would write a positive review about going to the doctor’s office. The facility is gorgeous and has a relaxing/​simple vibe to it. The receptionist was ridiculously kind and patient both times I had to talk to her. I went in to see Dr. Quach and she is soft spoken but so polite, informative, and listened to what I had to say. She gave me options so I didn’t need to take any medication. I got a EKG done by a nurse that was fast and efficient (if you haven’t gotten one done, they are incredibly awkward especially if you are a girl).Then I had to go down to get a blood test. I have had the worst experiences when I was a kid so I have avoided them at all costs but I knew I just had to suck it up. My name got called and I got this man named Keenan. I told him I hate needles/​nervous/​have had bad experiences in the past. He was so beyond sweet, gentle, talked to me the whole time, MADE ME LAUGH WHILE GETTING MY BLOOD DRAWN, and made me feel so at ease, I didn’t even feel the needle go in. I had to give him a hug after all that because he literally made the whole experience painless. So happy I found this place!

I made an appointment for my annual. Walked in and they greeted me at the door. The guy helped me put the information into the computer and gave me directions upstairs. I sat for about 5 minutes before being called in.
The nurse checked everything; blood pressure, weight all that. Then we waited again to be moved into a room. I told him what was bothering me & he said that he could take care of it that day, instead of having to go to another Dr. That’s good! Relief off my back.
I waited in the room for the Dr. To come, she was friendly as well. I told them that I worked at 12. They were quick & efficient.

Very nice clinic! Lots of parking. No long wait at pharmacy and lab. Dr. Quach is the best. I reccomend this place to everyone.

My experience was terrific! An amazing staff and a nice and new facility. I always saw Cathy Vaux for my pre baby visits and she was incredible.

We recently switched our 1 year old’s insurance to Kaiser because my husband is with Kaiser and I was impressed with the Carmel Valley facility. Our pediatrician will be Dr. Erfani but we were seen by Dr. Sacker for baby’s 1 year check up. I am writing this review as a caution to prospective patients of Dr. Sacker, who, in addition to her poor bedside manner, is spreading blatant misinformation regarding the benefits of full term breastfeeding.
I continue to breastfeed my son as well as feed him a variety of foods. He is thriving and has never been ill, thank God. In the context of discussing toddler nutrition, Dr. Sacker stated that breastfeeding beyond 1 year has little nutritional value, comparing it to «sugar water.» She said my son is merely satisfying an emotional need (when he nurses several times a day in significant quantity). She dismissed WHO’s recommendation as applying only to «third world countries.» Her advice is contrary to a wealth of medical authority on this subject, including:
–Breast milk continues to provide up to one-​third of a child’s nutritional needs during the second year of life. (WHO 2015)
–The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that «Breastfeeding should be continued for at least the first year of life and beyond for as long as mutually desired by mother and child… Increased duration of breastfeeding confers significant health and developmental benefits for the child and the mother.» (AAP 2012, AAP 2005)
–The American Academy of Family Physicians recommends that breastfeeding continue throughout the first year of life and that «As recommended by the WHO, breastfeeding should ideally continue beyond infancy, but this is not the cultural norm in the United States and requires ongoing support and encouragement… Family physicians should be knowledgeable regarding the ongoing benefits to the child of extended breastfeeding.» (AAFP 2008)
–In the second year (12 – 23 months), 448 mL of breastmilk provides: 29% of energy requirements; 43% of protein requirements; 36% of calcium requirements; 75% of vitamin A requirements; 76% of folate requirements; 94% of vitamin B12 requirements; 60% of vitamin C requirements. (Dewey 2001)
–Human milk expressed by mothers who have been lactating for more than 1 year has significantly increased fat and energy contents, compared with milk expressed by women who have been lactating for shorter periods. During prolonged lactation, the fat energy contribution of breast milk to the infant diet might be significant. (Mandel 2005)
I followed up with Kaiser to ask whether Dr. Sacker’s opinion is reflective of Kaiser’s position on this issue and am waiting to hear back. Fortunately I knew better than to accept her opinion as fact, but if someone were less confident I could see them weaning their child prematurely based on her advice.

how does a kaiser get 5 stars? its beautiful and modern (less than 2 years old), kind of a secret (tucked away on a small road just one small turn off the 56 freeway exit), and virtually EMPTY inside. i was able to hop in on a lunch break to get some labs done, then walk into the pharmacy with a mere two people ahead of me and wait less than 5 minutes to get to counter. i had no idea it existed till a week ago and its quite exciting news! my regular doctors are in Clairemont and Vandever — which are both friggin zoos ²⁴⁄₇. I can’t help that I still need to go to them, but this is a welcome discovery for last minute appts, getting labs, and pharmacy stuff.

Don’t go to this place to fill prescription — super slow. Better off driving to Clairemont offices pharmacy.

I almost don’t want to write a review because it seems like not many people know about it and I don’t want this hidden gem to get too busy!
We have used this outpatient clinic for pediatrics, primary care, nurse clinic, and lactation specialist and have nothing but good things to say. The facility is always clean, there is never a wait at the check in desk and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Our nurses have all been amazing and the doctor spends time answering all our new patent questions and sends our daughter home with a new board book each visit. So far the only thing average about the clinic is the pharmacy which has normal wait times and prices, nothing to write home about but not bad either. Overall we are really glad we found it.

i am so beyond happy that i have a kaiser in my neighborhood! i rarely have to drive far for appointments.
this facility is brand spanking new!!! service is fabulous! all check in’s happen in the main lobby and they direct you to the proper department (really streamlines things)…they also have a kiosk that you can check in on your own.
in the pediatrics dept there are movies playing in the waiting area and a plasma like floor that looks like you are walking on water.
everyone is super friendly… we changed our pediatrician to this location as well as my OB… still haven’t bit the bullet and changed my primary care physician… i just love him way too much!

I’ve been a Kaiser member in both NorCal and here in San Diego and I must say… this clinic is very nice. Small, clean, and efficient. I hope it stays that way. I brought my son here for a health issue and I came here myself for a checkup as well. Very professional staff and the doctors we saw were great.

This is my first time visiting kaiser, the insurance offered by my employer. I chose this place since it was close by and convenient. It’s easy to find right off the freeway and they have a lot of parking. The building is brand new and kept clean.
Right when I walked in, a friendly lady greeted me guided me through their check-​in kiosk. I felt like I was at an airport a little bit. You swipe your kaiser card and it brings up your information, shows you the co-​pay and you swipe your credit or debit card to pay. I thought you were supposed to pay after you’ve been helped and serviced?
The building is easy to navigate with lots of large signs. The waiting areas were large, had lots of seating, a few magazines, and a small tv on mute. There is a bathroom for patients to use.
The nurse that took my information, Vicki, was very friendly and polite. My appointment was for 3:10 and the nurse came to get me pretty quickly. Had to wait a bit to see Dr. Emily Chou, but she spent a good ten minutes with me and answered all my questions. She was also very nice and easy to talk to. Their online communication system seems pretty cohesive. The nurses and doctors can send me emails and I can also communicate with them directly through
. I like that direct access and also the quick response time.
Went to pick up a prescription from the pharmacy, they were also nice and got it filled really quickly. Then I went to their laboratory to get some blood drawn for tests– I’ve never had blood drawn before but it was a quick process and the lady helping me got it done quickly and pretty painlessly.
Good first experience! I went to see the doctor, the pharmacy and the laboratory and got it all done in an hour with minimal waiting time.
Edit: 2÷17÷2014 I take back the part about having my blood drawn being painless — it still hurt! Although my initial impression was that I got through the laboratory really efficiently, it was the one area where I felt rushed and that the lady taking care of me didn’t actually care too much. I think it’s because that is all she does all day long, so she just goes through the motions quickly, gets the blood that she needs, and then lets me go on my way. I did mention to her that it was my first time ever getting blood drawn, and you’d think she’d take the time to make it a positive experience but it seemed pretty average. She only made small –talk with me because I was asking questions and commenting on the process, otherwise I’m not sure she would’ve said much to me at all. The actually blood-​drawing process (3 small vials) only took about 2 minutes because of the vacuum inside the vial (which I learned since I asked). After I left Kaiser, my left arm felt weak and it hurt. Taking the bandage off later on, I saw that it had left a red mark, but it was a line about a centimeter long. I was very sore there for the next few days. It’s been 3 days since I had my blood drawn and I’ve got a big green bruise all around that area and it’s sore when I touch it lightly. I’m pretty sure that’s not how you draw blood properly. I’m a little wary of going back there to draw blood, hopefully I won’t have to anytime soon.

Second time coming here. I’ve been to several Kaiser Locations (i.e., San Marcos, Escondido, Zion, etc.) and this location is by far the nicest and cleanest facility. It is new and was built couple months ago. It is really easy to find and right off the freeway. There is always parking. The staff is friendly. I even got blood work done here and it was super easy and painless. I love my physician, Dr. Yoo. She is friendly and efficient. She has an empathetic and genuine personality.
I highly recommend coming here if you have Kaiser.
