History

Established in 2003.

I grew up in Northern California in a family of seven. My father is a native San Diegan, and both he my grandparents have been in the real estate business for over 50 years. It was a natural decision to follow in their footsteps in the real estate field. I find that I am naturally enthusiastic about where I live and work. San Diego is one of the finest places in the world and I am blessed to be a part of this community and to have had success in this rewarding industry.

I am a graduate from the University of California at Santa Barbara, and earned a BA in Communications and Minor in Global Economics. While attending school, I received title as an All-​American Waterpolo player. I was also a member of the United States Women’s National Water polo team, which won the Pan American games in 1996, in Cuba. I am a lover of the ocean and hit the surf every chance I get. I believe that having «balance» is the key to being successful in both work and life.

I’m a well seasoned RE investor, I’ve bought and sold 16 properties in the last 4 years. I’ve worked with my share of «agents». I found Kara by accident and have used her on a buy and a sell. On the buy she found me a «pocket listing» before it ever went on the market and on the sell she sold my condo for the highest price in the 500 unit complex. Kara will always be successful because she’s the total professional most agents aspire to be but seldom reach. If you’re lucky enough to find Kara you’ll have no regrets. If you find Kara but don’t use her, you’ve made a mistake.

Kara and Scott were absolutely amazing throughout the entire process of buying a home… Since this was my fiancé’s and my first home, we did not have much of an idea as to how we would go about this. I cannot say enough good things about Kara! I had the pleasure of seeing first hand how great she was with all her clients, so when my mother told me she was finally ready to sell our family home in Encinitas of 15+ years, I immediately knew Kara would be the perfect person to do the job! Given the awesome location and potential the home had, Kara decided to purchase the home herself and renovate it. She made the process so easy and we could not be more grateful. Given that my mom was already so stressed with just the thought of packing up and moving all the belongings she had accumulated over the years, it was so great to have someone like Kara to help guide her through the process of selling which in itself can be extra stressful! I met Kara through a referral from my realtor in Huntington Beach, as I was relocating to san Diego. Kara has an excellent knowledge of the San Diego area, and was able to offer and provide valuable property information that really helped me. Within a few days, a property in Point Loma was found, in which I made an offer. Initially, there was another person bidding on the same property, but Kara managed to negotiate my position in which I was the buyer that the seller’s accepted. She offered free advice, texted with me and walked me through the process without getting any commission. We were looking for an investment property in Pacific Beach and had very specific criteria so we were a bit of a challenge for Kara, but, she stepped up to the plate and met all our needs. She went the extra mile leaving no stone unturned which eventually resulted in her negotiating an off-​market deal for us. Due to this, Kara represented both parties which required her to be the buffer between us and the seller and, to be quite honest, I’m not sure I could’ve kept my composure during some of the negotiations the way she did. We met Kara when she was selling our neighbors’ unit, who lived below us, in an 18-​unit condo building. That was in Feb. 2013. We knew we wanted to sell too. However, with a not so encouraging housing market, we knew we had to wait. Kara would send us updates on the upward market trends, and the closing of condos reaching higher sales prices not seen in years. We finally decided it was time for us to make our move and list our condo.
We met with Kara on June 29, 2013 and discussed what we wanted to list our condo for and what expectations we had regarding our bottom line. She supported us, coming up with a sales price that worked for us. Our condo hit the MLS on July 21st, had a Realtor caravan on July 23rd and we received a cash offer on August 9th (at our bottom line price), closing escrow on August 21st. It simply doesn’t get any better than that!
Throughout the whole process, Kara kept us informed about Realtor and prospective buyer feedback. Kara returned calls, text messages and emails promptly. We would find early morning messages from her keeping us positive and up to date on what was happening with our sale.
We can’t even imagine going through this sale without Kara. Simply put, it wouldn’t have worked out the way it did if it wasn’t for her. Kara demonstrated complete knowledge of the current market trends, is very experienced, honest, has a strong work ethic, is a hard worker who fights for her clients and is completely genuine and charming!
We highly recommend Kara to anyone who is looking to buy or sell property. If we rated Kara on a scale of 1 – 10, she would be a 20!!!

My husband and I decided to purchase our first home and we had no idea what we were doing! I found Kara on Trulia in early May 2012 after interviewing several other agents (in person) and I knew she would be our Realtor within the first few emails with her.
Our situation was pretty different from most, we were purchasing the condo that we had been renting for over a year. Kara got in contact with the owner’s Realtor and we began the buying process. My husband was deployed in the middle of this transaction so it was just Kara and I dealing with this situation that became super stressful really fast. Kara kept reassuring me that everything would be fine, and as the process drug on she informed me that this was the most difficult escrow that she had ever been through. The seller’s agent was very unprofessional and did not take this (in the selling agents own words) $ 200K sale seriously. Everything that could go wrong did, but Kara kept pushing the seller to pick up the pace and reassuring me that everything would be fine.
Three long months later we ended up closing! Thank you Kara for all your help and persistence! And congratulation on your second baby boy! (which she delivered a couple of days after we closed)

Kara helped me find my PB Condo in 2009. What a crazy time in the market back then. But we persevered and we navigated a short sale.
I love to mention to friends that she actually delivered her first child during our escrow and with a little help (fully licensed) husband she didn’t miss a beat.
She patiently helped get a deal here in Pacific Beach. And by patient I mean it went on for almost two years and she was on every detail as we moved from property to property; sending me comps at the drop of a hat. Meanwhile, we kept it up and bid on property after property. Each bid lower, btw.
We succeeded because she learned exactly what it was that would ‘make’ the place. Since she was pregnant, we called it the rocking chair test… Iow, could you sit at home and feel connected to San Diego?
And Kara helps me still today. I’m a part-​time resident, so she keeps a set of keys and supervises property management and repair chores for me.
