I just wanted to say how wonderful Christian is he owns and runs Kettner Arts. It is a progressive and beautiful gallery. He has some great Artist and Kettner Nights is always so much fun. Check it out the second Friday of each month, and they serve wine and cheese. Also a great group of interesting people attend. Thank you Christian for supporting artist and holding the space for thinking outside the box.

Affordable art gallery with a beautiful co-owner full of positive vibes, Ginger Lou. They show exhibits of unkown or not-so-know artists as well as the co-owners art that cover from scarfs to collages to hand made purses out of recycled materials to sequined gigantic portraits(like that shiny Donna Summer). I like this gallery because it is very approachable and you don’t feel like you need to buy anything, you can just go and absorb nice art and get some inspiration. But if you can afford one of those hear shaped, vintage looking purses from Ginger Lou, please let one for me too!

This is a new gallery opened in January in South Little Italy, and unlike stuffy, overpriced galleries, Kettner Arts is chock full of art I can afford! Why. because each of the artists is participating in a gallery co-op and the gallery doesn’t take a cut. I go every month when they have an opening(fun party) every second Friday from 6 – 9 pm. There are 5 artists participating at all times. Check out the beautiful blown-glass park bench. The large sequin image of Marilyn Monroe, looks beautiful as it shimmers in the breeze. Ginger Lou, the manager, has the most beautiful(and sexy) collages.
