Charles Scott, Esq, at Kimball, Tirey & St John has been my personal lawyer and my family’s LLC lawyer for Property matters as well as Trusts and Estates for twenty years. His services have been invaluable. Charles is a truly brilliant and ethical attorney who knows the law and researches complex matters quickly. He also uses a broad network of experts throughout California for second opinions and refers us to partners in his firm in areas outside his field.
We cannot recommend Kimball Tirey, and especially Charles Scott, more highly.

Shady absolutely shady. My issue is with their collections department of their practice. I firmly believe that they work directly with a complex I lived in almost 6 years ago and placed my account into collection after I was told that my account was cleared. No notices from these guys in almost 6 years till I found out about the collection and contacted them direct. Now I’m receiving notices at my father’s home. Beware of these guys and Western National Property Management/​Raintree homes in Brea Ca

This law firm is as shady as it gets. They submitted a form to the courts without serving me, there attorney kept giving the case to someone else. The SateBar really should close your crappy law firm down. I and other parties should start a class action lawsuit against you fraud, breaking bankruptcy codes and continuing to collect a debt while in bankruptcy. You are getting your client sued. Do yourself and your clients a favor and close your firm

We have used Kimball Tirey & St John for our Unlawful Detainers for several years and are very happy with the results. They are a no nonsense company that gets the job done in a very timely and professional manner. If you, as the owner of a property, don’t have your ducks or your paperwork all together, they usually won’t have the time to babysit you.
They move very quickly to get around all the BS that tenants use to delay the process so that the tenants can extend their stay in your rental for free and are very aggressive in collecting any monies owed. If you know what you are doing as a property manager, they are the go to guys.

Money hungry company! My ex husband got an apartment after I filed for divorced in 2011! The property manager said because we were legally married until it finalized I had to be on the lease. So I drove to Rialto and signed with them KNOWING I was not living there and had to provide proof of filing so Quail Ridge wasn’t illegal trouble for renting a 1 bedroom to two adults and a child. I had my credit pulled to buy a house and I have a 7k collection debt under MY NAME from Kimbal! I’ve tried to dispute it multiple times and they won’t validate it with the apartment complex and remove the charge from my credit report. Worthless thieves out to make a dollar and ruin lives.

We feel very fortunate that Jim McLaughlin was our lawyer in a very difficult and complicated lawsuit. He made wise and honorable decisions that brought us finally to a successful outcome. Throughout the proceedings he was always honest and fair with everyone – even the other side – and that meant a lot to us. We appreciated, too, his compassion and understanding for the personal difficulties we were experiencing outside the lawsuit. We will always remember him as a light in a very dark corner of our lives. He is a truly outstanding lawyer.

Wish I could give them ZERO stars. Told them 2 years to cease and desist all contact with us and all of the sudden last month they started calling again. Told them last month we had sent a cease and desist letter 2 years ago and not to call back. Got a phone call again today from them. I find this funny after them doing NOTHING 3 years ago when we were dealing with them the first time. They work for Lincoln Military Housing and are a crock just like Lincoln.

why cant I find an active bar license for Ted Kimball? regardless this is not a firm of attorney’s this is a firm of bottom feeding debt collectors nothing more or less ignore them there correspondence and everything else about them.
for the sake of writing a long story I will keep it short. I was going to rent a new house from a guy we went through all the fun stuff to get the house rented. then pops in Mr kimball tirey st joh who gives a S$%T pressuring me and pressuring hard to rent the place. that was fishy to me little did they no I am a mortgage broker and happen to know a thing or too. I do a title search come to find out the property is in foreclosure. and Not just early NOD the property was ready fro trustee sale. So high five to the scam artist who works for this play school firm. My advice? fun to the hill and when you get there jump off the cliff cause that is about the best that is going to happen for you then dealing with these clowns

This is firm that’s unjust and untruthful. Unilocal removed my prior negative remarks. I wouldn’t recommend them or trust them because they did unjust treatment to me.

Our company and myself personally, have used KTS for over 3 years now. They are the most knowledgeable and helpful firm in Real Estate law. I may not be able to always speak with an attorney the minute I call, but I do always get a call back the same day if not, the very next morning. Pat Tirey is a very no-​nonsense attorney and I prefer her style and advice over anyone else. I appreciate KTS and all the help they have given my company.

I wish i could give then negative stars. This company is full of crooks and shitty customer representatives. They talk to like you have done some kind of crime by not paying any absurd amount that apartments guys have given to them without even talking to the actual apartment lease holders and listening to them.

I have 20 years of paralegal experience and I know that exceptional attorneys are few and far between… it takes a REALLY BAD attorney for me to write a review.
Chris James Evans, attorney at Kimball Tirey, did NOT respond to ANY of my faxes, voice messages and emails after he filed the WRONG paperwork at court and asked me to reach out to discuss a settlement with his client.
This attorney ended up costing his client a ton of money in court costs and attorney fees that could have otherwise been settled out of court. It’s unfortunate that shady people are able to practice law and be given the public’s trust. I would rate 0 if I could.

Our firm has used this company for over 20+ years. They stay up with the laws and we can find them on the phone to check the eviction status. It is very hard to work with some other firms, as they are not at the office. If you’re worried, this is very important. Also the lawyers help on the planning and help us prepare for the court appearance.

This review is only on their customer service since I wasn’t able to move beyond the initial call. This is also from a landlord’s standpoint.
I called to speak with an attorney and promptly received a call back. I explained my situation but felt like they were quick to get me off the phone. The attorney asked that I send over lease info for review. I did as requested and heard nothing back for almost a month. When I called for a follow up, the receptionist said maybe he never got the email then put me to his voicemail. Days later, still no call back. They really don’t want my money I guess.

The worst unethical business that I have ever had the misfortune to deal with! They have a negative charge on my credit report that isn’t even mine. I tried to get the issue resolved but they treat everyone like liars and couldn’t care less about the facts. I tried to settle just so that I could move into a new place, I asked to see what documentation that they had and I was told they could email, text, fax or do anything with the information because it would be unethical. Not able to wait go through the dispute process of the credit bureau i tried to just pay an agreed upon settle amount. All I asked is that I could get a settlement agreement before I sent cash western union (the only way they accept my payment). I was told that they would not send anything unless they received the money first. Who in the world would just send someone cash without any assurances? I also asked for the alleged lawyer to ask if the apartment complex who was claiming the debt if they would take a specific amount that was slightly lower and he would not even bring the offer to his client. This seems unethical, see below.
This is the rule from the California State Bar Rules of Professional Conduct.
Rule 3 – 510 Communication of Settlement Offer
(A) A member shall promptly communicate to the member’s client:
(1) All terms and conditions of any offer made to the client in a criminal matter; and
(2) All amounts, terms, and conditions of any written offer of settlement made to the client in all other matters. Any oral offers of settlement made to the client in a civil matter should also be communicated if they are «significant» for the purposes of rule 3 – 500.
If anyone else has had similar unfair/​unethical dealings with this company please write a review and provide contact information. I have read that others have payed the amount in full and did not get the settlement letter nor was their credit corrected. I think the CA bar association needs to be informed of the «lawyer» I spoke with and the company’s shady business practices.

STAY AWAY — these are the worst people I have ever dealt with. After having several customer service issues on various levels with this firm (bad info, no f/u…etc), I attempted to escalate this to Ted «Kimball» of Kimball, Tirey, and St. John.
After yelling at me (yes, literally yelling at me)… Ted Kimball tells me, «I guess this just isn’t a good fit». Not a good fit because I merely wanted to bring customer service issues to his attention? What a joke. It’s no wonder I received the service I did earlier. It clearly starts at the top. This firm clearly has every intention of providing service the way they want to provide it, and if that deviates from your expectations, you are yelled at and told this probably isn’t a good fit. Please do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. It’s truly not worth the time or aggravation. Furthermore, the proof is obviously in the pudding as their prior reviews are less than stellar. Shame on me for not checking here first. Don’t make the same mistake I did.

Old Camden Creek the apartment I live in complex uses Kimball. Also, Compass Point my last apartment complex uses them as well. They both have similar policies. If you are 9 days late, then Kimball Law firm Charges $ 720.00 to start the eviction process to the client. Therefore, if you are 10 days late with your rent you pay $ 50.00, for a total of $ 770.00. No mercy

Being both tenant as well as property owner on both coasts. I must say Kimball Tirey & St. John are a top service and first class firm. Attorney Leanne Barbat is dream to work with!
Attorney Barbat cares about protecting your investment along with understanding how to work with your tenant when trouble comes around.

They know the law and are experienced with all kinds of situations. There are good and bad tenants and the same goes with landlords. Attorney Barbat helps you become a wiser landlord and property owner. This is beyond valuable.
Any bad reviews are from people who have judgements and won’t pay their bills! The collection department at KTSJ is determined to get your funds.
The reviews of KTSJ being forthright is collecting judgement. is evident that KTSJ is doing their job. Finally, Attorney Barbat should win an award on how to win as property owner renting during the recession. She sets the gold medal standard!

Well my review has to be cut short for this company because I couldn’t even get someone to call me back to begin business with them. I am a property manager and called Nicky Morris for three days to attempt to get our company started with Kimball Tirey & St. John. Not only did she not send me the email she said she would she never returned my call. After I called a fourth and final time to reach her a very rude receptionist put me on hold for 10 minutes as soon as he answered the phone. I hung up and another rude receptionist told me that I should just go online and file my small claims issues myself with the court.
Sure I can do that myself but I WANTED to pay you to do it. Guess I’ll find someone else that wants my money.
