King Pawn Brokers

I followed a woman I believed had just ripped something off from me into this store. Actually, I walked in about 5 minutes after she did and sure enough I saw them removing my grandfather’s ring from the counter as she pocketed some cash!!! I hit the roof and told them that she had just sold them a ring that belonged to me! They said there was no proof of that, and the transaction was already complete, and to «take it outside»! They couldn’t have cared less. I followed the woman out of the store as she quickly jumped in a car parked out front and drove off. Believe me, I wanted to physically restrain her and get some street justice, but I instead I called the police and filed a police report. The police asked if there was some way I could prove the ring was mine. It took two days for me to look through old photo albums and find a photo of me sitting with me with my grandpa over 20 years ago where he is wearing the custom ring. This proof satisfied the detective assigned to my case. They never could locate the €^!$ who stole the ring from me, and the only way the King Pawn would return the ring to me is if I paid them the amount for the custom gold and diamond ring that they paid the thieving b**** who stole it from me! And the police stood by them on this! What kind of justice is that!!!

This is the worst run pawn shop in San Diego. My uncle owns a pawn shop up north so I’m no stranger to them but wow this guy is unreal. I walked in there interested in one of his korg keyboards he had for sale priced at 300 bucks! It is 350 brand new. Anyway it didn’t have the mic it was supposed to come with and he denied me when I asked to test it out. He then assured me that it «works». So naturally I asked, may I bring it back for my money tomorrow if I can’t get it to work, only to get a one word answer: No. I replied with an offer of 50 bucks which I thought was fair seeing the circumstances and he said he would only accept $ 250. I laughed and said «No thanks». My friend however purchased a Microkorg Beat pad midi controller only to find out it was completely busted when we got home and none of the 12 pads worked. This shop is a bust and I would stay away at all cost. There are plenty of pawnshops within walking distance that know how to keep a happy customer.

I thought going to a pawn shop should save you money. Some of the prices they have are ridiculous, you have got to be kidding me they charge way more than some big name jewelry stores that I’ve been to. Example a 24 carats white gold necklace costs $ 389.00 at Kings and the same one is $ 300.00 at Kays. Kings is a total rip off.
