We are a custom calligraphy studio, offering custom hand lettering for addressing envelopes, lettering of presentations for corporations and individuals and creations of poems enhanced with watercolor illustrations. We have been serving San Diego businesses and individuals for more than 4 decades. We also offer instructions in the classical art of beautiful hand writing.

History

Established in 1975.

Ladybug Art Calligraphy Studio was established in 1975. Specializing in the art of beautiful handwriting, the focus was on hand lettering of invitations, corporate presentations and custom poems enhanced with gentle artwork by gallery owner, Susan Mae Hull. In the 80’s Hull began showing the art of other San Diego artists and now spotlights the work of award winning professional artists — ranging from exquisite hand carved gourds to striking pastel paintings.

Business Owner

4^th generation native San Diegan, Susan attended local schools, eventually graduating with an Associate of Arts degree in Fine Art. Continuing advanced study in art, she now teaches beginning level classes in most mediums of art and guides study groups in those mediums. She also offers private instruction.

Her own award winning art focuses on watercolor, pastel, graphite drawing and her specialty, calligraphy.

Her favorite work combines the lettering of a quotation or verse and enhances the pieces with delicate paintings.
