I LOVED this school. I am from a military family and moving around was always in our agenda. But Robert E. Lee Elementary School is where I finally STAYED. I didn’t have to make new friends, I didn’t have to start over, I didn’t have to worry about any of that anymore. I got to plant my roots and let them grow. and I LOVED it here. I was this shy, quiet, lost little asian girl. I spoke really soft, and couldn’t look anything in the eye. That is until I met Mrs. Metoyer. She was the G.A.T.E. 5⁄6 grade teacher. She really is the sole person that started me journey to open up and find myself. And if ANYONE knows if she’s still teaching there, please tell her THANKYOU for me. And in just two years(5th and 6th grade) she turned me around. I was loud, and outgoing. I have never felt more myself, or more comfortable with myself until I met Mrs. Metoyer. She was great with kids. We were a G.A.T.E. class. We learned different, and were more sensitive to learning styles. She dealt with us amazingly. Okay okay, enough about Mrs. Metoyer, this review is about the school. The teachers here were very cautious and attentive to their students. They understood that learning is very important for that age group. When I went to Lee it was a K-6 grade school. The playground area was your standard playground with swings, monkey bars, and slides. There was a field where P.E. took place. P.E. wasn’t an everyday thing back then. It was more like a once a week thing. This is where I met Mr. Edwards and the FANTASTIC talent shows he’d put together. Man, those were fun. I loved this school when I was there. I have no bad things to say about this place. I miss being so young and innocent.
