I have been putting off impacted wisdom teeth removal for a few years now. I sent Dr. Machado’s office an email in the early morning hours and was given a call that same day. The receptionist is the sweetest young lady ever. She offered me a consultation that same day. The office is beautiful and clean. Dr. Machado is extremely thorough. Today is the 8^th day since I had 3 impacted wisdom teeth removed and I am not in any pain what so ever. I would recommend this office to anyone who is need of an oral surgeon. Wonderful staff from front office to back office.

For starters Dr. Machado’s practice is the best run practice I’ve experienced. From the first time I called, to enrollment to my first consult, everyone was pleasant, professional and knowledgable. I have nothing but good things to say about my experience and dental procedure that was done today. Dr. Machado, Neil and the team’s attentiveness today made my experience so much less stressful and easy. Job well done!

This is a wonderful office. I felt completely at ease bringing both my adolescent daughters in to have their wisdom teeth extracted. Every single person we encountered was kind and compassionate. They were very reassuring as well. The surgeries went as planned and when we needed to ask a question after hours Dr. Machado returned our call promptly.
To boot, Dr. Machado is involved with several professional organizations exemplifying his desire to keep abreast of current research as well as mentor others in his field.

Dr. Machado makes you feel at ease, and less nervous, and he came highly recommended. My surgery was very involved and correlated with my orthodontist’s treatment, they worked well together and the surgery was a success. I thought the staff was sweet, patient and available. It’s a pretty office, very clean with what seems like the latest technology. Dr. Machado is a true professional with a kind heart.

I contacted Dr. Machado’s office through email regarding a wisdom tooth extraction. The office responded promptly and they were able to set up an appointment right away. They had a special for a free consultation and a 3D CT Scan, which was a huge help, since I was not insured at the time.
I went in on a Wednesday and the staff was friendly and everyone made me feel welcomed and safe. Dr. Machado and his staff were very thorough in explaining the steps and complications of an extraction, which put me at ease. After reviewing the scan, Dr. Machado made one extraction on a partially erupted and compacted tooth which was infected. He was very honest and discussed all of my financial options. I was nervous, but Dr. Machado and his amazing staff made sure I was comfortable. There was no pain and I was in the chair less than 20 minutes. I was in and out of the office in less than an hour.
I highly recommend Dr. Machado and his office for any oral surgery needs. They are professional, honest, caring, and extremely efficient. BEST experience ever!

OMG! You will not find a more compassionate dentist or professional staff! My dentist sent me to him for a broken tooth and I am so happy he did. I am averse to going to the dentist and always have anxiety so a nice, patient dentist is imperative. Dr. Machado did not disappoint!

I was referred to Dr Machado by a friend and I’m really happy that I found him. I’ve had bad experiences with dentists before and I was a bit wary. Dr. Machado has a great bedside manner, he’s kind, personable, and very gentle and very happy with my wisdom tooth extraction. I will definitely be coming back and referring my friends to him. His office is beautiful and his staff is incredible and this just adds to the whole pleasant experience.

Clear, concise, and caring, Dr. Machado provided a wonderful experience for my wife and I. My wife had been putting off getting her wisdom teeth taken out for quite some time now but after a check up and consultation from Dr. Machado, she decided to have them removed.
Before the procedure, he explained all the steps the procedure required giving us the confidence in it. Wait time for it all was short and Dr. Machado came out right after to tell me how well my wife did. During the outbrief, all the requirements for my wife’s care were explained to me along with being provided the necessary care products and a helpful guide just in case I forgot anything. They asked me to call them for any help I might need and assured me that she would recover in a few days.
I followed all the steps explained to me during my wife’s recovery period and had no complications. Dr. Machado and his team made an otherwise dreadful and stress inducing experience, a quick and easy procedure that my wife is now thankful for getting done. Dr. Machado is now our go to guy for any dental work.

PRO-​TIP: If you don’t have insurance and want your wisdom teeth out ASAP, you can schedule your extraction the day after your x-​ray. I live in LA but wanted to stay with my parents after the surgery, so I had them check out my teeth on Thursday and then remove them Friday morning. Worked flawlessly.
I had four impacted wisdom teeth and was stressing HARD about getting them removed. Anesthesia freaks me out and I was looking for countless excuses to cancel the surgery and spend the rest of my life popping Advil for chronic jaw pain.
But THEN I met Dr. Machado and all my fears went away. He explained everything dutifully, carefully, and sincerely. Excellent bedside manner – plus he answered every dumb question I had («am I going to die?» «can I keep my teeth?» «can I name my teeth?»)
On the day of the surgery I met the anesthesiologist who matched Dr. Machado’s candidness and kindness. He put me at ease and made me feel like I had total control of the entire process. I had a stuffy nose so the nitrous oxide was tough to breath, but then he put on the IV, turned on the «good stuff,» and it was nighty night for Mitchell.
I don’t remember the surgery and only remember snippets of leaving the office in a wheelchair. Apologies to everyone who I made gross faces to while being wheeled across Hillcrest. Comatose me must have thought it was hilarious – and to be honest, sober me still does.
Anyways, now I’m drinking smoothies by the beach and reading Hemingway. My mouth is all torn up but the pain meds are helping REAL WELL.
In summation: 10/​10, would get all of my teeth extracted and reinserted just for the fun of it.

Saw Dr. Machado for a bone graft and dental implant surgery. Amazing job. Uses a local anesthetic and I felt nothing for either surgery. Surgeries were very quick too. Really nice guy, very professional and competent. Highly, highly recommend him.

Amazing staff and excellent service. My 8 year old had an extra permanent tooth and it had to be extract by a oral surgeon. I found Dr. Machado on Unilocal and my insurance website. Seriously perfect. My daughter got in and out in 45 min, not a problem at all and at the same night she was fine, like nothing ever happened.

Making the appointment was a breeze. Dr. Machado met with me and we discussed my treatment options. It was decided that fully removing my top two wisdom teeth while removing only 90% of my bottom two wisdom teeth would be the safest and most fruitful approach. Apparently this kind of partial tooth removal is called a coronectomy — who knew!
I would recommend getting the surgery done on a Friday so you can take advantage of the friendly anesthesiologist that comes in on that day. I got a combo of laughing gas, general anesthesia and Novocaine and I didn’t feel or remember any part of my procedure.
Recovery is the least fun part of the whole procedure but it’s not too bad because they give you lots of advice and equipment on your way out the door. It’s been a week since I parted with my wisdom teeth and I feel almost completely back to normal!
5 stars for both the immaculate operation and the hospitable staff.

I recently had three impacted wisdom teeth removed as well as gum lengthening surgery on one tooth. I should have had my wisdom teeth removed years ago but I was terrified of the procedure and the anesthesia. All the positive reviews of Dr. Machado and his team are spot on!
The day of surgery I met with the anesthesiologist who was terrific, great personality and made me feel very safe and comfortable. Last thing I remember was feeling a little tired and then 20 – 30 mins later I was up and going over my post op instructions with the nurse. My surgery was on a Friday and by Sunday most of my swelling was gone. Pain was very manageable and I had no problems with dry socket.
My main fear was the anesthesia and I can say that was the easiest part, like a little nap without grogginess after.
5+ stars from me. Dr. Machado is a fantastic surgeon!

Doctor Machado and his staff were very competent and caring. I highly recommend them and will return for future teeth care.

I had been looking for the right place to have 4 of my teeth extracted that offered sedation. (I wanted to be completely asleep) See, my current dentist doesn’t offer that. In fact, they chuckled when I asked for that. When I was a toddler, I had to have ALL of my teeth extracted due to baby bottle tooth decay. I’m not sure if they attempted to sedate me or have me under laughing gas — but needless to say, it failed. I felt every tooth being pulled and remember screaming so loud that the dentist got aggravated with me. Traumatizing.
That’s why finding the right oral surgeon was so important to me. I need somewhere to feel completely comfortable. Dental and orthodontist offices scare me enough, eek.
The place wasn’t hard to find, though I suggest taking your parking ticket inside for validation. I stupidly didn’t think of taking mine inside and was charged $ 1. The front desk woman, Veronica, was sweet and helped me fill out all that was required for my consultation. Eric (who I assume is one of the dental assistants) kindly informed me on the before /​after care of my procedure. He knows his stuff.
And, the man of the hour — Dr. Machado! He was simply warm-​hearted. He made me feel very cared for in the office. I’m sure he has taken care of many other patients such as myself, who all have anxiety with anything pertaining to teeth. He was informative and explained everything to a «t». I’m so glad I found his office through Unilocal.I scheduled my appointment for the extractions and have no doubt in my mind that I will be under great hands.

This office is great! I was looking for a dentist that was affordable for students, but also good at what they do. I found Dr. Machado’s office on Unilocal and from recommendation from a co-​worker. I highly recommend this place if you are a student like myself without dental insurance! They also gave me a discount b/​c I didn’t have dental insurance! They offer free CT scan of your mouth for the wisdom teeth through Unilocal as well as a coupon if you buy it on here. The office was nicely decorated and the whole staff was welcoming and professional.
After I had the CT scan, which was like 1 minute, they show you the image on a TV screen. Then I watched a video about wisdom teeth and Dr. Machacho discusses what I should have done (he is really nice and does not make you feel pressured!) After that, we went over questions I had and I was good to go.
On the day of the procedure, it actually took ~45 minutes to an hour (I had 3 taken out with anesthesia). I had no pain at all and am very happy! Definitely recommend this office for wisdom teeth removal!!!

So I had to get my wisdom teeth removed, so I was looking around for a good dentist. And needless to say I’ve heard all the wonderful horror stories of wisdom teeth removal gone awry, So I was really paranoid about finding a good dentist. I’m really glad I came here! Dr. Machado is really awesome! He was really nice, explained everything, made sure I wasn’t too freaked out or anything.
And the people who work in his office are really awesome too. They’re all really nice. And I think they knew I was a little nervous when I was in the chair waiting. They joked with me, jokingly offered me sedatives and to knock me out. All the tech in their office is really new too. Overall it was a really good experience.
The wisdom teeth removal itself went smoothly, nothing went wrong, it all healed great. No problems. No dry socket! (was most worried about this) They were really nice at my follow up too when they were teaching me how to clean out the holes in my teeth. I would definitely recommend coming here.
The only problem I had was finding the office because of google maps! It kept taking me to the wrong place.
