Stayed here for three weeks (mid Dec 2015– early Jan 2016). The room was clean, had a nice closet, and a decent bathroom. The room was spacey and it also smelled nice. We brought our own sheets and towels so we didn’t need room service very often. When we did, the gentleman was very accommodating, vacuumed very well and made sure we had extra trash bags, cups, etc. Although it isn’t the nicest area in SD, when you drive into the parking lot, you feel like you’re tucked away and its actually quite adorable. There are trees all around and it’s quiet for the most part. The walls are pretty thin (so don’t get too crazy) Whenever we needed something, the people at the front desk would help us out and made sure we were taken care of. During our stay there was a planned blackout for the area and we were provided flashlights and given more than 2 days notice. I would definitely recommend this place. We have stayed at other motels in SD in the past and have never felt so welcomed and accommodated to the point where we would actually return! Also, no bugs, working A/​C, mini fridge and microwave. OH and shelves in the closet! That was my first time seeing that in a motel! AND you’re only about 6 minutes away from downtown. So, if you want to get there or the beach, you’re only a couple of exits away! If you go and happen to run into Tony in the office, then, you’re in luck. He was always so nice and willing to make us happy. Thank you Lodge@32 you guys were awesome.

Newly remodeled boutique hotel. Owners run this cute little place and they do it well. I’m in San Diego for work often and have stayed all over. This place is clean, a convent location for me, and the owners are very personable. Rates are reasonable for the amenities. Enjoy!

This is an excellent place to stay. Inexpensive, centrally located and the rooms are big. The owners are excellent in providing services like coffee pots, printing and so on. We booked two rooms for five people and the each room total cost including taxes were only $ 90.00. The rooms were also clean and the beds were very good. I highly recommend this place.

Was told I could drop a vehicle in their lot for one of their guests a day ahead of their arrival. I called today to confirm (day before the drop) and they are now telling me I cannot. They wont even acknowledge that they backtracked on what they told me.

The room is clean, but the sound-​proof is horrible. I woke up in the middle of the night hearing people knocking on the door — and it wasn’t even our door. There was also this weird knocking sound from the roof throughout the night

This place is alright. Nice on and off the highway, not too loud with the planes and stuff coming in. You do have to pay for ice, which is weird. Also had little cockroach in the shower but you know, you get what you pay for. Bit sketchy at night, I wouldn’t stay here alone. Free parking and I don’t have bedbugs though.

Experienced a very unpleasant 3 day stay. No housekeeping, no on-​site vending machines, no telephone in room. No surrounding nightlife or restaurants — only 2 very sketchy liquor stores. Gaslamp district is a 10 – 15 minute drive & you are better off spending the extra money than sacrificing comfort here

The front desk guy is really nice. It looks a little questionable outside, but I love the décor and set up inside the room. Free parking & wifi :) You pay for ice outside. I thought it was funny that he said it fills up two buckets, but you only get one bucket. Hahaha, maybe give bigger ice buckets? Mini fridge was awesome bc it was an actual mini fridge that you could put stuff into and freezer space as well. Not stocked with overpriced little bottles of liquor that, frankly, are always a waste of what could have been useful fridge space.
Warning: AC seemed to stop working the next day. We had it the same temp, but the room got kinda stuffy and hot. Water pressure was soo low, hard to wash your hands. There’s no drinking water available, either. The vending machine only had soda, which was tough after a night out downtown and we had gone through all our water supply.
Still rating five stars bc for the price, location, and friendly front desk guy– we’ll def book here again.

What A DUMP! If staying in an area of San Diego surrounded by grafitti and vacant overgrown with weeds and litter and trash filled lots, and a parking lot with what appeared to be numerous «druggies» sitting on the pipe handrails is your idea of a safe environment for your children and family then this is the place for you. Just practically steps from the freeway off-​ramp (how lovely) we passed it initially not expecting to find it in such a seedy area. We had just spent the day at the Wild Animal Park and was already feeling ill from heat exhaustion when we arrived at the «lodge» that looked more like barracks then anything else. I told my wife as we drove thru the parking lot that there was NO way we were going to stay here for safety reasons as well as how this place made me feel worse than I already was feeling. This place would make a Motel 6 look like the Ritz-​Carlton in comparison. Save your money and find a decent place to stay. For $ 25 more, we found a Very nice and clean looking room on Coronado Island directly across from the Hotel Del Coronado.

Horrible Experience before I even got to San Diego…
I booked a room a month in advance of SDCC. I booked through their website, and was charged same day. A week before my arrival i receive a confirmation from them letting me know that my room is confirmed. They morning of my departure I call ahead to let them know I will be arriving late at night. They inform me that my booking has been canceled because they accidentally overbooked. I was livid, If I did not call ahead, I would’ve shown up at 1 am and been turned away. He then tells me one email was sent out and that was the limit of their efforts to inform me.
Within days of my arrival, they send me 3 sentences that I had no where to stay for one of the busiest tourist weekends in San Diego! I had to book elsewhere (the day of!) and spent 2.5 times more because of literally last minute booking. There policy states that if we cancel, they need a two week notice, yet they cancel my reservation and screw me over so close to the booking date.
I was so upset and but that man I spoke with felt no responsibility HUNG UP on me. Absolutely terrible way to deal with a customer who’s trip you almost ripped to shreds. They need to seriously revise their booking system, policies, and basic customer service… He was a very RUDE man.
Stay Away

We stayed here for 2 nights in June while visiting San Diego. We checked in at around 12 AM, and the clerk was very courteous.
Our single-​bed room was actually pretty spacious and fairly clean. It came with a fridge and a microwave, perfect for leftovers and water bottles. Since we stayed for weekdays, there weren’t many people there, and the room prices were very cheap.
The hotel is close to Little Italy, which has a lot of good eats, and Balboa Park.
As for the cons — the walls may be a little thin, although we had no problem with it. Also, and I’m not sure if this is normal for a motel, there were no privacy cards to keep the housekeeper from coming in. We had to ask the clerk to let them know.
But overall it was a pretty good stay!

The manager is rude. Kept telling us to leave when we told him we were getting ready to leave. We get it, dude. We’re not welcome.

Not too shabby. The place is clean and had cable which I loved to watch while getting ready Lol. — 1 star because the area is sketchy and the AC sucks and I hate to be hot while doing hair and make up! I must add though that it is in the middle of everything, which was sooo convenient! I would recommend if you’re just looking for a clean place to sleep and don’t care about the view and all that.

Booked this place for Friday night to Saturday over the phone, upon arrival we were already impressed of how new the place look, at check-in…receptionist Tony was friendly and helpful, he was very accommodating. The room we booked was clean n new. Got a flat screen n a large fridge and microwave. The beds were big and the sheets were white and clean. We definitely will book this place again when we back in San Diego. Thanks Tony for making this booking easy.

At first I was scared to book a room here since there was only one review on Unilocal,but I had high hopes since the only review had 5 stars! But I took the chance and I do not regret it. This little motel is the cutest place ever! Their rooms are very modern and comfortable. I loved how their rooms were unique and looked beautiful. I couldn’t even tell if we were staying in a motel because it looked really nice. The pricing for the rooms were amazing! A king room for $ 70? That’s unbelievable! I love this little motel and will stay here on my next trip to San Diego. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They answered all our questions and made sure we were taken care of. And just to let you know there was not any weirdos around or anything like that. If your looking to stay a night in San Diego and wants a cheap but beautiful and nice motel, stay at this one! You won’t regret it! Also one more thing you have to book by phone since they do not have a website yet! So don’t be scared cause I thought it was a bit odd lol! Well thanks for everything Lodge@32^nd, we will come back to San Diego and stay here!:)

Our recent stay this weekend in SD was pleasant enough for me to restart my Unilocal journey with this review!
Although in a sketchy neighborhood, our hotel room (non-​smoking) was just right! We were given everything we needed in the clean and modern-​ish room: fridge and microwave. Def helped with all our leftovers. haha The restroom was clean and the water pressure was just right (I was told they remodeled everything). yayy for new amenities! A couple of drawers and closet woulda helped but I’m usually too lazy to unpack properly anyways. hahaah no biggie.
The location was perfectly tucked in the heart of SD. This helped with our short commutes to the hippiest hippest restaurants/​bars around town. AND balboa park!. Our über rides were only $ 10 – 13. YES PLEASE.
The best part was the unbelievable price they offered for this room! It was only $ 45/​night for Friday and Saturday… Whereas a motel 6 would’ve costed 90 – 100 that weekend. I was told it was because they are going through rebranding the hotel and haven’t had much marketing done yet. They’re just trying to get their name out there first.
Because they don’t have a website up yet, I had to make my reservations over the phone. which was a little weird but it worked smoothly.
AND free parking! AND right off the freeway. hahah Thank you for an awesome stayy!
