Mad Science

We had a Mad Science party for my son yesterday and could not be more pleased with the experience. We had to change the date and venue several times and the event organizers were very gracious and flexible in accomodating our needs. Mad Scientist Lindsay captivated the attention of a gaggle of five and six year olds for over an hour. They were giggling, calling out hypotheses and jumping with delight. Lindsay definitely got and rolled with six year old humor. The experiments and descriptions were high level but relatable for our younger crowd. This was a fantastic event!

Very disappointed as a teacher and parent. Signed up my 6^th grader in the after school program at his school. After the first class, I noticed he was the only 6^th grader with about six 2^nd and 3^rd graders. They all had the same project. Told him maybe more kids would enroll for 2^nd week. After the second week, same thing. Called mad science while I was in the school parking lot and politely asked for a refund because the class wasn’t differentiated; they said they would make my son an assistant. NOT WHY I SIGNED HIM UP… they wouldn’t refund but said I could apply the remainder $ to my other kids (told them they weren’t in a program and I wasn’t about to put them in one) then they said they would talk to instructor to give him more individualized instruction; after 3^rd week-​no change; pulled him out and took the loss… HORRIBLE! If I could give ½ a star-​I would.

We had a Mad Science party for my son’s 5^th birthday last summer. All the kids loved it! The experiments were age appropriate and the scientist kept their attention pretty much the entire time. This was a great alternative to the typical bounce-​house birthday party.

I was extremely disappointed in the lack of control and presentation for 15 students in the Mad Science after school.program. The ages ranged from 5 – 10 years old, with no accommodations for the younger students. A small group of 4 boys were successful in railroading the entire program with their poor behavior. After 4 sessions, we pulled out realizing we had thrown away $ 75. I have emailed them
reply. Mad Science does a great job with school assemblies where the teachers control the kids, but they have few skills in group management when left by themselves.

Unilocal Review Well Overdue… We hired Mad Science for my son’s 1^st Holy Communion and it worked out very well and it was awesome. Can’t say enough great things about Mad Science and what it offers. Thank you Joe.

Radical Rob from Mad Science came to my son’s 7^th birthday today and it was amazing! I couldn’t believe that Rob could hold the attention span of 20+ kids for over an hour. He was so patient and informative. The kids couldn’t stop talking about how much fun they had! My son said it was the best birthday ever!

We hired Mad Science for our son’s 7^th birthday party. The process of setting it up over the phone with Emily was easy and her customer service was exceptional. She reviewed everything with me and informed me that the Mad Science guy would be there 15 minutes early to set up and begin his show at 3:30. At 3:25 I called the office asking where he was and the woman I spoke with said she would call him and call me back. He showed up a few minutes after that with absolutely no sense of urgency. He walked up and introduced himself (no apologies for being late) and asked if we were ready. Seriously! I had 12 seven year olds running around waiting! It took him an additional 15 minutes to unload his car and get set up before beginning the show. The first couple «stunts» in my opinion were lame so I was a bit nervous about the rest of the show. It got better and the kids enjoyed it, although this guy seemed to be annoyed by kids. He used his «3−2−1 shhhhhhh…» technique to get the kids to quiet down, which I think was great, but he seemed annoyed everyone he had to do it. He also told the kids that everyone would get a turn to volunteer but they didn’t all get that turn. A couple of the kids were bummed. Overall, based on our experience I would not recommend The Mad Science for a party! I called on Monday (the party was on a Friday) and shared my feedback and Emily was apologetic and said she would share this feedback with her manager.

These guys are fantastic. You know when you have a whole crowd of children gut laughing you have hit a home run! They made science fun and interesting and kept the kids engaged throughout the entire program. We highly recommend them.

This was an amazing experience! Dr. Don provided an incredible science show for our 8 year old. The kids loved it and so did the parents. I would highly recommend Mad Science and Dr. Don.

We hired them for my daughter’s 8^th birthday. I have never seen 21 kids sit as still and quiet as these kids did for the performance. They were enchanted. Our «mad scientist» was on time, adequately prepared, cordial, funny, informative and really connected with the kiddos. Several parents told me this was the best party they have ever been to which made my daughter happy (which is really what this is all about anyway). The transaction was easy and done all online and over the phone. They promptly responded to all calls we made. They followed up. I did opt for the extras: rocket launch (a real hit with kids and parents alike) the slime making and cotton candy. Plus goody bags. It isn’t the least expensive option but for this age group, I think it is a terrific option. I don’t know how many different performers they have but ours was top notch. I highly recommend.

It doesn’t take a genius to give this company five stars. Holy Crap! Even two engineer parents were laughing and enjoying the show, unlike the usual Chuck E Fromage…

Great presentation. Dr. Don was really funny for the kids and kept it moving fast. They loved the dry ice stuff and «smoke» bubbles, lava, etc. My 3 year old sat and watched every minute. I am super satisfied. Great program for party, school, etc.

We had mad science come out for our 5 year old’s birthday. Not only did the kids enjoy it but the adults at the party did too. The ‘scientist’ was funny and related to the kids well, he really played the part. It was educational but the kids wouldn’t even know it because of the fun nature of the experiments that were demonstrated. The rocket launch was the icing on the cake. We got everything on video, and looking back at it we could see just how great it all was, especially when we could see the expressions on everyone’s faces.

After taking my son to see a Mad Science show at our local library we decided to use them for my son’s 8^th birthday party. «Astroid Angela» was SO great. All the kids had such a great time!!! It was a fun, funny, and engaging 2 hours. Even my adult realtives were engaged and in aw.
We did the rocket launch at the end also, which was a HUGE hit.
HIGHLY recommend it!

we celebrated a 5^th and 6^th B-​day at the park. All 24 kids had fun and «The Mad Scientist» was able to hold their attention for an hour. Which I think says alot for kids as little as 3. I would defiantly use again. The kids thought making slime & the rocket launch was the best thing ever.

Mad Science did my daughter’s 9^th birthday party today. AMAZING! Alison, our mad scientist, mesmorized all 22 children ranging in age from 3 to 10 for the entire hour. Not only did the age ranges make this challenging, but we had the party at the park in Liberty Station so there were planes flying directly over the presentation continuously. Not one child got bored, or left the presentation. We added the rocket launch at the end and the kids loved it! Most importantly, my daughter said it was her best birthday party ever. My son’s 8^th bday party was a blast! He and his friends had so much fun!

We had Mad Science do our son’s 7^th birthday party. We did it in our front yard/​garage in case it was messy and it wasn’t (which was an added bonus).
When the middle school kids got home from school they asked to sit on the driveway and watch the show! Our «Scientist» got 6 years olds up through 13 years old interested in science — that is great!
My son wants to have Mad Science again for his 8^th birthday! All you have to do is call them and pick up a cake and drinks and your party planning is done. How easy for the parents and how fun for the kids!
