Mantra The Art of Spa

I came here with 3 of my friends in order to get spa services and had a great time! We booked last minute (the day before) and they were very flexible and willing to accommodate.
When you come for spa services, you have access to the pool, sauna and relaxation rooms. Unfortunately, it was a cloudy day and we were unable to utilize the pool. I did a soak which was sooo relaxing. After the soak, I had a facial. My esthetician was great– she took the time to ask questions regarding my problem areas/​concerns. I walked out glowing.

This place is wonderful! The staff is impeccable! My daughters and I came for a day at the spa and were treated like royalty! I can’t say enough good things about our first visit… I know it will not be our last!
I had a 50 min massage with Heather who is magic. My girls got a 25-​minute massage and a 25 minute facial, the a mani/​pedi. My girls were smiling from ear to ear afterward and we all felt taken care of.

My husband got me a massage for my birthday… and woo hoo… got Heather! She was fabulous, one of the best I’ve had in my life. Can’t wait to go back! Good job Heather! Overall the whole place was clean, relaxing… already planning my trip back!

My sister and I drove down to San Diego from the San Francisco for a little poolside getaway. I Unexpectedly stumbled upon this place and let me tell you, I was blown away. I didn’t have any intention of getting a massage but i was convinced that this was the place to let me forget everything that was going on and leave it outside the door.
I was greeted by a lovely host Roberto, who made me feel as comfortable as possible. He then gave me this cozy robe to change into. As i slipped into this robe i found my way to the Zen Room, where i was to wait for my masseuse. There i relaxed on the cozy couch, had a cup of lemon water and listened to the sounds of serenity.
Melissa walked in and immediately made me feel so welcomed. She showed concern of what was going on in my body which put me at ease.
HANDS DOWN. Best Massage I have EVER HAD. I would definitely come back in a heartbeat.

This was hands down the best massage I’ve ever had… and most important is that the lady enjoyed and loved it!

…aaahhmazing! I have to consider this spa within my top 3! Service was exceptional! All areas were pretty clean, the relaxation room smelled soooo good, it was a blend of eucalyptus and something nice! Lol! my therapist Melissa, had such skills of loosening up my knots! She was quiet and only spoke if she needed to I was able to relax as planned. Front desk was great too, Roberto was friendly and accommodating. The services are a bit pricey but we were able to get our services through an awesome Travelzoo deal! I would have given this place 5 stars, but the steam room definitely needs some adjustment of the steam, it didn’t stay on long enough and it would take forever for the steam to start again but that won’t stop me or my mom from coming back here

Great service, skilled masseuse. I had lunch by the pool side, then a massage, followed by a glass of champagne in the Zen room. It was a delight. I used a groupon and it was a great value as well.

Probably the best customer service across the board of any spa I’ve been to, including those that were at 5-​star hotels. From the initial lady who greeted us to the folks who provided us with massages and facials– really great positive attitude and professional. We were there as a group for my birthday and they made me feel special. I wish I remembered the lady who did my facial so I can give her props here– she was fantastic and my skin was so smooth after. She even gave me an extra mini-​lift after. The entire spa was spotless– very clean and elegantly furnished. We didn’t go to the pool because it wasn’t attached to the spa so can’t comment on that. It is the regular hotel pool though, so no separate adult spa pool. That’s the only reason for one star less.

I decided to have my hair done for my wedding at Mantra since I was getting married right there at the Hilton. This was the worse decision. The stylist was unprofessional, recommending I take a Xanax if I was nervous. I politely declined. I brought a picture of how I wanted my hair, and the stylist still messed it up. How hard is sweeping ponytail? I looked like a cross between Keisha and Princess Leia. She added braids to my hair-​the picture I showed her had no braids. I didn’t even want to try to fix the mess she created, as I was running out of time. I cried when I got back to my room and re-​did my hair, myself. In fact my bridesmaids, photographer, and myself all thought that the stylist may perhaps may have been high. Needless to say I do NOT recommend Mantra.

My husband had a gift massage which did not use so I used it and recently had a massage with Rachel… she was excellent. my body was so sore from my Zumba classes… Rachel took out all the knots. when I left I was walking on clouds & feeling so relaxed… Kelly from front desk was so professional & awesome! The spa was so nice and I even had a little workout before treatment. I loved the steam room. I am so ready for my nx dance class.

I recently had a long overdue spa day at Mantra. What a great experience. I had an amazing day. From the time I walked through the front door, I felt relaxed and happy. Let me just say, I’ve been to many spas and the people at the front desk can make or break your day. Roberto had a smile on his face from beginning to end, and catered to my every need. He’s every spa owners dream of a team member. Heather gave a great massage; it was just what I needed. I live in north county, but I will definitely make the trip here again and again. Thank you for making my day Mantra!

This spa experience was definitely a masterpiece. I used to leave town for the spa before… now there is no need. We enjoyed everything from champagne in the Zen Lounge, the gorgeous Mission Bay views to the ultra clean steam and dressing rooms. The customer service was impeccable and the couple’s massage experience was just what the doctor ordered! Thank you Mantra.

Had a great experience on a Wednesday during spa week! Maria gave me a wonderful deep tissue massage and I got a great facial as well. The locker room was clean and the lounge area was great clean and comfortable. We had access to the pool and that was great to relax before out treatments. Front desk was very professional and nice. Great day at the spa!

I went to Mantra Art of Spa last Wednesday, this was a gift from my boss. I had an hour and half spa treatment with Melissa (owner/​manager) and it was awesome. My first surprise was how lovely and cozy the robe they gave me to wear was. It reminded me of a cozy throw, but one of those expensive ones, super soft like you would get at «Sharper Image». I just never really thought this detail would impress me so much, but it did. It was a cold day so it instantly felt cozy and comfy. I was brought into a pretty room with dark purple colors. The décor was very zen and calming. The massage bed was heated. Melissa was very good, and worked out lots of trouble spots that I have from working on a computer and stress. She was very pleasant and made me feel very comfortable. She asked me about different areas and also has an excellence knowledge of anatomy of the human body and how certain pressure points work. The products she used smelled very nice and left my skin very soft. I am a diabetic, so she really helped me with my legs, and the massage really helps circulation or them. I love the products they use, right down to the hand soap in the bathroom. This was such a treat for me, I felt like a million bucks when I left. With the holidays coming, I found myself sitting there thinking of all my GF’s and how I want them to experience this as well. I will be back. This was a gift, but the prices aren’t too bad, and they do run specials. Melissa is worth it!

Took advantage of the travelzoo deal with my BFFs. We each had different appointment times so we arrived separately. I really appreciate the fact that parking is free! (During a different BFF spa day at a different hotel, we each paid $ 36 in parking. Yikes!) Anyhoo, I was the second to arrive and was greeted by a lovely hostess/​receptionist. She showed me around and left me to get settled in. The restroom/​locker room area was clean and well maintained.
BFF1 was already in her appt so I made myself comfy in the Zen room. I love this room! It’s so comfy with an «L» couch with big comfy pillows. I see that others had fruit in the zen room but there was no fruit when I was there (maybe because it was a Sunday?).
On to the massage, we planned BFF spa day to have some QT with each other and unplug and relax for a couple hours. My therapist, Heather, sure did the trick! She was great — professional, skilled and very friendly. Definitely recommend her!
A visit to this spa is a must for anyone local or visiting.

A friend and I both received massages last week and it was absolutely wonderful from the point we arrived until we left. The spa hostess was very personable and friendly. She showed us around the spa and advised us of the steam room and to go to the Zen room when we were ready for our massages. Neither of us do well in steam rooms so we went straight to the Zen room which had cucumber water, hot tea and fresh fruit. Thank goodness for the fruit since I was famished. We had about 5 – 10 minutes in the Zen room before our masseuses came in which was the perfect amount of time to relax before our massages.
Our masseuses took us upstairs where it was very calm and relaxing. I received the deep tissue massage from Diego and it was wonderful. I caught myself starting to snore on 3 occasions. The masseuse was great about working on my problem areas and giving the right amount of pressure based on my preference.
After the massage we were led back to the Zen room and I felt like I was going to melt. I was so extremely relaxed. My friend came back from her massage and was also in the same state of mind as myself. The spa hostess Jenna was absolutely delightful and would come to check in on us. We were also able to enjoy their sun deck on a perfect San Diego day.
I would return in a heartbeat. Luckily I live in San Diego and am able do just that. Looking forward to my next appointment.

Newly renovated this spa is amazing! I tried a new treatment which was the Balinese Massage, it was quite an experience! Moeini, my massage therapist is professional, talented and very skilled! Recommended for groups, a bachelorette, bridal shower or girls event would be perfect! Can’t wait to go back!

I don’t normally write reviews but I will make an exception for this particular place because of the experience I’ve had. First of all, I am writing to say thank you to the owner of Mantra for making sure that we were all taken care of. Thank you and your wonderful staff for making our stay so enjoyable. They were all so down to earth and very helpful.
I’ve stayed at Hilton San Diego Resort & Spa before and I don’t know how I’ve missed this spa. I live in San Francisco and came here for a Bachelorette Spa Weekend Getaway. The service we got was amazing! I had a massage medley (Deep Tissue & Swedish) done. My massues did such a wonderful job on massaging my back that I had to ask her to move to San Francisco and work there. And yes she just laughed at me. LOL Very down to earth person. I must admit, it was one of the best massage I’ve had. We also had our hair done and got totally pampered. On top of that, we were given a complimentary bottle of champagne in the Zen room where we got to relax and spent quality time filled with girl talks. It was such a great day for us and especially for the bride! I have already recommended Mantra The Art of Spa to a friend that is planning a trip down there soon and I can’t wait to go back there again. Their service and their staff is the reason why I wouldn’t mind going back to this hidden gem. This place just made it to my «highly recommended» list of places to go to in San Diego.
