This place has it all. You can get biscuits and gravy or a taco and an enchilada at 10am and you can have a mimosa. I love restaurants like this. The food was good and the lady that was our server was very sweet. I like this small local spot in Ocean Beach and I will totally come back. Delicious food and a boozy brunch that is right up my alley.

This is definitely the best place to get Mexican breakfast! I want free food all the time because free food is nice to have and it saves money to not ever pay for food. Sharks are dangerous.

It’s been a few years since I’ve visited the restaurant. They must have changed owners. I ordered Huevos Rancheros, and it had some sort of watered down salsa(I think) over the top of it. The egg, beans and rice were soaked in it. Very disappointed and probably won’t be going back.

Great customer service but the food is so blah. I won’t be coming back. And please get rid of the cheap Christmas tree!

stumbled in randomly, place looked mediocre. seemed as if they didn’t make too much money. no one greeted us upon walking in and we decided to seat ourselves. I asked the waitress if I could order from the kids menu(I literally am the size of a child and have a small appetite) and she said no. so I looked at the burritos and they’re all the same price. you could get carne asana or chicken or whatever for 7.50. which is a decent price but that also applies to a bean and cheese burrito. the waitress told me «because this is a restaurant vs a taco shop, all the burritos are the same price.» so you’re going to charge me 7.50 for beans and some cheese? fucking ridiculous. I ordered a quesadilla as an appetizer for 4.50. you could get guac or sour cream with it for 3 dollars more. 3 dollars for guac. really? the quesadilla was a good portion and tasted alright. my boyfriend got the American burger and it was alright. his cousin got a philly cheesesteak and he said it was okay. the French fries were equivalent to frozen fries you buy from the grocery store. food– mediocre service– eh mediocre environment– shitty do not recommend.

There were 3 of us so we each got something different. The fish tacos are THE best I have had. We are from the east coast and I dot eat to leave. The guys got cheese enchiladas and beef tacos. Again, BEST ever.

Not the cleanest place in the world, but the portions were generous. Service was friendly.

Ordered root beer for my daughter, guy comes out with a can, says no refills, sorry not paying 2 bucks for one can of soda, should tell people is by can before they order. ordered the super nachos, got what looks like a small side of nachos, no flavor. Guess they won’t get my business again

We were gearing up for a day of shopping and had a craving for Mexican food. I have to say I was very impressed with how authentic their dishes were, and so delicious! We had the Enchiladas with eggs, rice and beans. OMG! Just what the doctor ordered! And the refried beans!!! Almost as good as my mom’s :) I will definitely be going back for more!

Margaritas has never let me down. They use fresh ingredients and it’s a nice atmosphere. The service has always been great as well. This is the kind of place where you can go with friends or on a date and still have a good time.

The food here is pretty good. Most of my experience here is with breakfast. The skillets are awesome. I usually get the carne asada version.. It was remodeled about 8 – 9 years ago so it looks nice inside and the people here are some of the nicest in town. A couple of them have been here since the 1st time I came in 20 years ago.

A Haven to the locals. The menu is actually pretty extensive & I can never make a decision about what to get. The old faithful machaca is always a good call. Served with beans & warm tortillas. Get’s you all cozy & ready for a nap after breakfast ;). I’ve also had the chicken chilaquiles for breakfast — talk about A LOT of food. Should have shared it! Very friendly staff. Street parking. Good place to go when you don’t feel like making breakfast at home. I’ve yet to visit for lunch though, mainly because I hate hunting for parking in OB

Ay Margaritas how I love you Its a diner, cafeteria food. Nasty goodness around the corner from your hangover. I’ve been here so many times & enjoyed the all American breakfast cooked by my paisas. Its plain well cooked breakfast. The French toast, pancakes, waffles, potatoes(ask for crispy or die in goeyness), benedicts(ask for them 2 dry the eggs or get vinegary English muffins), they are all just great. They have their quirks but when you just dont want to wait a half hour to go next door this place is as good. The best part it really is like Cheers where everybody knows your name and the lovely server comes over to give you some Tylenol because you’re too hungover to order.

I have lived in OB for almost a year and today was the first day that we tried Margarita’s out. They are only open until 3pm so we decided we would do brunch there. I was not expecting to find so many choices on the menu. They have american and mexican dishes so if you have friends or family that don’t like mexican food this is the perfect spot to go when you that’s all you are craving. My hubs had the enchilada rancheros. They melted in my mouth… well the tiny bite that my hubs allowed me to have because he is so stingy. I had the chorizo skillet which came with tortillas, rice and I asked for sour cream on the side. It was so BIG and amazing! I couldn’t eat it all. We ate 7 hours ago and I am still full. I suggest if you get a full plate that you share it with someone unless you plan on taking food home for later. Breakfast is served all day!!! My friend had the chicken fried steak and again, it melted in my mouth. Margarita’s definitely gets 2 thumbs up from 2 fluffy foodies!!!

Came in here for breakfast for the first time this past weekend while staying in Ocean Beach based on the Unilocal reviews. They do a brisk breakfast business with very reasonable prices. The breakfast is typical greasy spoon /Sysco type of food(i.e., doesn’t seem homemade) but very solid with great service. You could certainly do worse if you’re in the area but next time time I’m in the area I’m going to try some other places before coming back.

We were trying to grab a bite for breakfast at the place next door, but there was a line and we didn’t feel like waiting so we found ourselves here. Maybe their mexican food is better, but the breakfast was pretty mediocre and greasy when it came to the american choices on the menu. It was pretty cheap and the staff was all friendly though! Definitely wouldn’t be my first breakfast choice if I was in the area though.

Decent breakfast spot located on Newport. Went on a Saturday and the place was busy but we were lucky enough to get a table. I had the huevos ranchero. It was a large portion and wasn’t able to finish it. The spice level was just right and the side of flour tortillas helped me put everything together. Service was also on point. Our server made it to our table several times to refill our drinks and the food was out in about 10 – 15 minutes. I will definitely be back on my next visit.
