Tried the shrimp Bowl with brown rice, with cucumber salad. Amazing. Very flavorful. Recommend this to anyone who’s stopping by. Great service as well.

Nice place in the neighbourhood to have some Mediterranean food. We tried the chicken wrap and it was as good as any other chicken wrap that we have had at other Mediterranean places. Will probably try the salmon if we happen to go there the next time. While waiting for our to-go order, we were served some warm lentil soup, which was really good.

For kabob, they know how to cook a nice and juicy chicken. I do feel like the tabbouleh and the cucumber salad were way too oily. They give you a generous amount of food and have good pricing. A friend of mine basically lives there and the chef makes him a special sauced chicken with Sriacha sp. This location is easy to get to, int he food court by Vons. The guys are nice and helpful. They have a big vat of tea and a soda machine. Small place but good, fresh food.

I’m now a regular at this place and wanted to commend them on their food and service. Always get the chicken bowl with a side of hummus or babaganoush. I go easy on the rice and get more tabouli. The baba has a great smokey flavor clearly made in house daily. The hummus is really good too. The service is great and they get to know you and what you like! I come here for lunch at least twice a week.

This place seems to be something different every time I am over in this shopping area. My first time at Marketplace Grille, I had the«chicken bowl» which is chicken, rice and some pitas. The rice is so good! The menu was a bit overwhelming, so I kind of just picked something familiar and went with it. I was there during lunch, so it was a bit busy(don’t even get me started on parking here). I had to wait about 8 – 10 minutes for to my to-go order, but everything was packed very nicely.

We always have our food delivered from here during our business meetings. Delicious and set at a good price. Try the filet mignon and the herb rice! Chicken is full of flavor as well.

I stopped here at noon yesterday for lunch. The parking in this plaza is an absolute MESS around that time, so beware! I got the chicken bowl with white rice. The food was quick, fresh, and delicious. We also got a side of pita and hummus that was excellent. It’s a good option to have to break up the«blah» of the work-week lunch.

A pleasant surprise finding this fresh medi grill across from the medical center. Fast it is not. But the portions are big, the meat is flavorful and moist and options can satisfy most in a group. A good place for lunch but nothing I’d seek out when I want Persian kebabs.

I can’t believe it took me this long to try Marketplace Grille. We tried: COMBOSPECIAL: CHICKEN&BEEFSKEWER, GRILLEDTOMATOES, SHIRAZISALAD, WHITERICEANDSODA $ 11.70 It’s a nice portion but more importantly I knew most of the items on this plate were made/grilled to order. The beef tasted nice and ‘beefy’ to me. I wished they offered dark chicken meat at Marketplace Grille but the chicken breast used here wasn’t too dry and tasted nicely seasoned. Honestly though, the winner of this plate was this simple Shirazi salad. I couldn’t stop eating it. It was so light, refreshing, crunchy. It tasted clean and healthy HUMMUS Friend got the filet special and asked to upgrade to hummus($ 1.00 extra). The portion size for the extra $ 1 was fair I think. The hummus tasted creamy and very much of tahini. «TONY’S SPECIAL» Alex, the manager, had told me to try this dish as it was low carb and I could ask for more shirazi(in lieu of omitting the lettuce). I added grilled salmon. The salmon tasted fine but perhaps needed a bit more seasoning. The grilled squash were so very good. Almost better than the salmon in my opinion. FILETPLATE $ 12.10 They were out of regular rice so friend had to choose herb rice instead(.50c extra which seemed unfair that they charged if they were out of regular rice). Poor friend didn’t like the meat at all. It was grilled well done and lost it’s tenderness. I can’t remember if you can choose your desired doneness of the filet but ask next time if you’re here. Service wasn’t as awesome the second time around but it’s a laid back kinda restaurant so we didn’t mind all that much. I’d recommend Marketplace Grille if you’re in the area.

Very expensive. Small portions. Dry meat with no side dipping sauce. I rarely give bad reviews. This place was not worth the money and I would not go back. Chain places like Daphne’s are much better. The rice tasted like boil in bag. Was just super bummed because my fellow Unilocalers like it there. Not me.

Solid Mediterranean fare. Good prices that reflect great quality. Need a little hummus in your life? Head here. Killer herb rice with a solid baklava finish.

Finally tried this place out. I ordered the combo plate with rice, cucumber salad, chicken skewer and ground beef skewer. The food was tasty but nothing special. The chicken was a bit dry and so was the ground beef. Could’ve used a bit more seasoning and salt. The cucumber salad definitely needed a bit of salt. The parsley used as garnish and chopped up a bit did not do anything for the food. I personally hate the texture of parsley. Overall I’d maybe try the filet mignon or seafood.

I’ve been going to Marketplace Grill for the longest time and I’ve always had the best experience. No matter how busy they are, the food is always fresh and consistent and very appetizing. I’ve tried almost everything on the menu and I haven’t found one thing I haven’t liked. The skewers are my favorite — chicken, filet, lamb, shrimp, salmon, veggies, tomatoes, and potatoes. The basmati rice is some of the best basmati rice I have ever had — love the herb and white rice. The chicken soup is very flavorful and the appetizers are all very good. Highly recommend everything on the menu, I promise you won’t be disappointed! Reasonable prices for the quality of food and you’ll leave full and satisfied. The staff is friendly and is always keeping the restaurant clean. They also have beer and wine which is a plus. There is also ample amount of parking close to the restaurant, and there is some seating space inside as well as outside. Marketplace Grill has the best Mediterranean food in town. If you haven’t checked them out yet, make sure you do!

Pleasantly surprised. Small place tucked in the corner in a shopping center. It used to be a hot dog place and a chain Chinese food restaurant, both which were terrible. My buddy dragged me down here to pick up dinner for our families. His wife orders from here a lot to cater lunches for her business meetings. It was super clean inside and the staff was very nice. We ordered Steak and chicken kabob plates and chicken soup. The kabobs were GREAT and their rice was tasty. It was served with grilled tomatoes too, which were delicious. I was too full to try the soup. Food was delivered quick and with a smile. There is a nice outdoor area to sit if you want to eat there. It was so good, I may even go back today for lunch.

I’m quite fond of Persian/Greek style food and have been here a few times. I’ve been a few times and they are consistently good. Located in a strip mall among several other restaurants, they have a small indoor dining area and outdoor patio. There is generally plenty of parking and they do take-out. We had ordered the Hummus, Greek Salad with Chicken Kabob, and Grill Chicken Kabob combination which comes with Basmati Rice, Shirazi Salad and Grilled Tomato. The hummus was average but a bit thicker than what I would prefer or call authentic. The bread that comes with the hummus is quite good. Fresh, hot and quite lean. The Greek salad comes with a single chicken kabob and the dressing on the side with goat cheese, Greek olives and peppers. There is more than enough for two people in this salad and the dressing is the traditional dressing you would expect in a Greek salad. The combination place I got the white basmati rice and two chicken kabobs. It’s plenty of food and again, could pretty easily be split between two people. The chicken is boneless breast of chicken grilled perfectly. Not too dry and the chicken is pretty juicy. The rice is cooked just right and I’m really a fan of their shirazi salad that comes with the combination. My biggest complaint is the size of the chicken. While it is very tender and flavorful, the pieces are very small when compared to most other places that serve the same cuisine. And there is no special flavor to the chicken breast. Most use spices to marinate their chicken but this is very plain. Same with the chicken that was served with the Greek Salad. And the rice, while cooked perfectly and very tasteful, I’m used to most places that use saffron on the rice. Oddly, they do not serve any type of Gyro sandwich which seems to be a fairly common item for a restaurant such as this. They do serve«wraps» but I do not believe these are the same. I’ve noticed on quite a few reviews people were complaining about the price. I checked three other places that are within a few miles of this place and the price seem quite comparable. As for quality of food, it is good but I am more of a fan of Alborz which is rather close. Bigger pieces of chicken, they marinate their chicken and use saffron on the rice. All for about the same price as Marketplace Grille. But something I was very pleased is they use recyclable containers for their to-go food! Very happy to see that and more places should follow their lead.

Stopped in for a couple of beers before going to dinner next door. The two guys behind the counter were really nice and even delivered our beers to the table. We sat outside on that patio enjoying our sculpins, relaxing in the shade. I would definitely come back and check the food out if I was in the area again.

i’m quite familiar with Marketplace Grille, its been around for years. I used to be a regular at their La Jolla location. I was stocked when i found out they finally open a location in Carmel Valley. Yes i agree it can be a pricey option for lunch, i prefer to visit them for dinner. You can find some value deals from the combo special section or try their famous bowls. Almost every time we had dinner at the restaurant, we got something on the house(hummus appetizer or a soup), a nice welcoming touch from the owner. I love getting their chicken or beef kabobs over herbed rice rice, always so flavorful, well seasoned and satisfying. I enjoy that smoky aftertaste you get from meat or veggies(grilled tomato is especially delicious) that were cooked over mesquite coals. Check them out!

I ordered the Greek salad. It was delicious. Piled with plenty of feta cheese. Myb husband order the Wahoo which was good but a little dry. The owner have my husband a peice of salmon to try. The salmon was delicious and moist. It was nice eating in their little patio area. Plenty of seating and a nice atmosphere.
