I would like to share my recent experience that I had with this dealership. I brought my car here a while ago and always go there for services. Last weekend my car engine dead in the middle of road and I was pretty upset because the whole experience was pretty dangerous and frustrating. I towed the car back to the dealership. My adviser Ross called me on Monday expressing his sympathy for my situation and reassuring me that the management team was looking into the matter and they would find the bottom of the issue. I am very embarrassed to say that the problem was because my car was out of gas. During the whole process Ross was always very understanding, courteous and efficient. They spent hours on my car and didn’t ask me for a cent and also provided a loaner car for me to use. I have to say this dealership really provides services that are in the highest the standard which matches Mercedes’ reputation.

I can’t believe the service department. I drove into the service dept to drop off my car for a 40 k service. The minute I drove up there was someone to greet me. She helped me get my belongings out of my car and reminded me to grab my garage door opener etc. she offered me coffee and water then lead me to my service advisor Brennan King. He was just as awesome. I had a brand new Mercedes coupe waiting for me as a loner car. Brennan called me when my car was ready and I couldn’t make it back down to the dealership until the next day– he said no problem we will wash your car again and have everything ready… and he did. In a world where customer service seems to be something of the past– MB of SD has stepped up their game! Best service I have ever had– no joke!

I had a wonderful experience at this Mercedes-​Benz location. I drove into the service department because I needed to get a new battery for my infrared key. There was no line whatsoever and a gentleman came up to my window and asked me what I needed. He literally had the key back to me in less than two minutes flat and working right. I asked him how much it was going to be and he said no charge. My jaw literally dropped!
I currently drive a Mercedes but now that I have a child I need to upgrade to a four-​door vehicle. I was so impressed that I decided to look at cars while I was here and took a tour of the lot.
The customer service was great. I was shown all of the new vehicles without being pressured and given plenty of information. The follow up was good too. I received a personal email message in my box within a few days and the very next day received a message on my text thanking me for coming in.
Customer service is very important to me so as soon as I find the right car they will be getting my business!

Enrique is a stand up guy, he was very laid back and easy to talk to throughout the test-​drive and purchase of my vehicle. We spent our entire day at MB, and I was there past their closing time to retrieve my vehicle, so we both had to rush ourselves out of there. But Enrique took the time to give me a call later on that night to see how the drive home went and also offered to assist me with any help I may need configuring my vehicle in the future. I definitely appreciated that! Overall, I had a pleasant experience at Mercedes-​Benz. Thank you Enrique for your help!

The best car buying experience I have ever had! Duke was very knowledgeable about the cars, really easy to work with, and very kind and thoughtful. He wasn’t pushy at all and understood exactly what we were looking for in the car and experience we wanted to have. We had a horrible car buying experience previously with another brand, so everyone at Mercedes-​Benz of San Diego made sure to make this experience as pleasant and easy as possible. It had been a couple weeks since we were first in and during those couple of weeks, we received follow up calls, but they weren’t aggressive at all. When coming back in to make the purchase, it didn’t take long to make a deal with Duke and work with finance. Gemma was so friendly and took time to correct & explain things to us. I also really appreciated the full walk through of the car (with Jose?). All in all, a really easy, pleasant car buying experience! We will definitely be back and will recommend Mercedes-​Benz of San Diego to anyone looking for a luxury car!

i have taken my 2012 E-​Class Bluetec there last week because the check engine light was on due to emission issues, they have done the diagnostics and figured out that it was still under warranty. They replaced my Adblue Pump at no cost, and Alex gave me a loaner car as a courtesy without charging me for it. They have completed the Job in 1 day and my car is back to normal, Thank you Mercedes-​Benz of San Diego !

Since I became a San Diego permanent resident, I have been coming to this dealer’s service department. I have been a Mercedes owner since 2008 and made the mistake of purchasing a second car of the same make for my sister.
Every other time I have attempted to receive service for my car, I have been turned away due not having an appointment and there not being available courtesy cars. Today, it was so bluntly explained that it is not of high enough urgency that the air conditioner and heater are not functional. Nor was it important enough to address the warning light that keeps coming on urging an oil check. Never mind the airbag RECALL LETTER I received indicating a PERSONAL SAFETY issue neither because the parts are not in yet.
I find this in direct congruence to the whole sales pitch for from Mercedes Benz Sales reps selling me on the quality, safety and comfort features. I am especially unhappy that the extra warranty policies I purchased in the thousands $$$$ were useless as well.
I do not recommend this place to any colleague, friend, family member or even stranger. Further, I am going back to the reliable, elegant and SMART ownership of BMW.

I am generally not a huge fan of car dealerships, though this one is probably my favorite. My salesman (I don’t want to give his name since I am not writing a 5-​star) is really good, and I would give him five stars.
I basically have three issues. One, and this is minor, I don’t like negotiating. Please don’t tell me how much MSRP you’ll give me. Just tell me how much above what you paid the factory you’ll sell to me for. MSRP is a totally made up number.
Second, they frequently don’t have the cars on the lot with what I would think are common sense features. You’ll either get cars that are totally stripped down or are fully loaded. How about a car that has a lot of the utilitarian features (like blind spot, trunk closer, xenon lights) and we can skip the useless cosmetic features like spoiler or AMG wheels?
Finally, their service department I have found to be overpriced, slow, and always difficult to get loaner cars from. Otherwise, the dealership is friendly and clean, and I like my sales guy.

It was great service! Michael Del Real was awesome. Literally treated me as a friend and was responsive whenever I needed anything!

Shoutout to Brennan for always taking such good care of my car and I. I dropped my car off here last week because my car decided to completely shut itself off while I was grabbing a coffee and in neutral. Turns out that the crankshaft sensor had to be replaced and from what I know since I’ve asked, it tends to be a problem with my make and model car once the car gets up into the high mileages.
I’ve always gone to this Mercedes dealership and have been taken care of by Brennan since getting my car almost seven years ago and I will always come back. He’s always friendly, upfront and honest with me and I have the utmost respect for that. My car’s over 100K miles, but is running like it should and looks the way it does because of such a good job he and this dealership does with it.

Great experience at Mercedes San Diego. Frank was patient with us and very knowledgable about the car. Highly recommend!

Just wanted to start off on the positive note first — if you own a Smart and need it repaired/​serviced here, ask for James. He is a very sincere, hard working service rep here and he will work hard to make your bill as small as possible. He deserves to be recognized for his work ethic and constant good attitude. I will not see any one else for my Smart services here. He is the only thing that makes the review of this dealership worth 3 stars (if I were only rating him and his team who fixed the car, I’d give them a 5, but this is an overall remark).
ADVICE for Smart car prospective buyers — They WILL NOT fix your car on a Saturday, so don’t fall for this, when the sales person tells you. You can only drop off on a Saturday. Also, they have a shuttle service that will take you within 20 miles of where you need to go — this was never explained to me by the sales person who sold me my car, just about loaners.
And a general note — the people cleaning up the cars after service or when a loaner is returned are still as lazy and sloppy as ever. The loaner they gave me I pointed out to them before I drove it off the dealership had a piece of food on the floor in between the seat and the door, but they didn’t have any other loaners to give me and I’m not a snob, but that’s still gross. I also received my Smart from service with glass cleaning residue on the driver side mirror and the rear window, and dust still all over parts of the dash. Not a thorough clean at all, but then again, this has happened several times.

The only GREAT JOB WELL DONE goes to Mr. Lawrence Levinson the silent professional who’s from start to finish was nothing but a great help and answered every concern we had.
He is not your typical annoying as hell car salesman.
Talking about car delivery explaining things to my wife from A to Z, that was great experience as well. Would recommend him to anyone and I promise you will end up buying a car.

The general manager reached out to me on here and asked for my contact information through his secretary or whomever handles their online monitoring of reviews. I responded with my contact information and no one ever called me. In fact, proceeded to try to have Unilocal remove my review. As a result, Unilocal decided to remove my previous follow up review and let my original review stay in place untouched. Very professional business ethics if you ask me. I will be contacting Mercedes headquarters regarding this matter.

Yesterday went to MBSD to purchase another key for my car. When I was escorted back to James Lee’s cubicle (the person in charge of key replacement) he jumped up and said” I’m busy, there’s others ahead you, you’ll have to get somebody else to help you” and he walked out. I was then taken to another cubicle belonging to Holly Whalen, she said «you might as well sit, this takes awhile and lots of paperwork». She never said hello, smiled or acted as though she had a nodding acquaintance with civility.
This place has always had top shelf service. Not any more.

Dealership was not that great. Went in to buy a car in December of 2014, and they didn’t have what I wanted (the 2015 C class models had just changed — so selection was limited). I waited a week for someone to call me back, but no one did! Went in there again because I had left my drivers license there, and FINALLY someone wanted to make a sale, however, it was the used car sales rep. He wasn’t that knowledgeable on the new model, but was polite and patient.
The service team however is amazing! Daniel is top notch and always laughing and smiling. I’ve been having some issues, but he listens to my concerns and fixes it. Just a heads up, this dealership charges you for oil changes (even if you buy the car brand new!!!)

The service department here is an ignominy to the company. The door on my newly purchased car did not close properly, aren’t Mercedes known to have the best doors? I had another issue of general rattling and rattling of the speakers. In total, I had about 6 warranty covered issues and had to assert myself to get the work done, which they didn’t even do.
It took two hours to get the car dropped off, a week without my car. I had to return to «reproduce» the problems as it was not evident to them. At one point, I called to get a status on my car and found that they weren’t working on my car for the past three days… On the service paperwork, they could not reproduce the rattling and wrote that there were beach items in the trunk as their «diagnosis».
They lost my business for life, I plan to service my car as I have in the past, at the Escondido location.

I brought my car in for an oil change, and my representative that was taking care of me was supposed to be Marcus (very kind and professional gentleman), but unfortunately, he was busy with something else; totally understandable. So we are assigned to a different person; her name was Leesa. It was the first time bringing this particular vehicle in, so she was sitting at the computer entering in some info for the car. My buddy and I are sitting at her desk, speaking a different language, minding our own business, while Leesa is entering in the info. Out of nowhere, in a very unprofessional manner, she barks, «this is an English only zone and you need to speak English!»
Usually, when I encounter some sort of racism or rude commentary, I have a few words to return to the person. I was so incredibly shocked by this comment, that I was left absolutely speechless and had nothing to say. This is the worst case of racism I have ever experienced and it is a direct violation of my First Amendment right, and if I was a sue-​happy person, I could very easily sue Mercedes for violating my right of free speech.
This is a luxury car company that prides themselves on customer service and customer satisfaction, and from my past experiences with my previous Mercedes Benz models, they are very good at customer satisfaction and making the customer feel valued. Marcus was extremely professional and polite, and everyone else I encountered there was also very professional. I am sure that Mercedes Benz does not stand for this kind of racist behavior and I think that Leesa does not embody the Mercedes Benz way of service.
Usually I’m not one to complain, I’m just really pissed that this happened.
UPDATE 25 July 2015: contacted Mercedes Benz about the incident and despite talking to the service manager, STILL have not received an apology from Leesa.

Returned my 2^nd leased Mercedes and was charged: $ 549
$ 185 — scratch front bumper
$ 189 — scratch left rear door
$ 175 — scratch left panel
The car was perfect, Mercedes must be desperate.
I have leased 5 cars — this is the 1^st time for BS charges.
Called Mercedes 1^st Class Finishing Dept to discuss and had the pleasure of speaking with ‘Kevin’ the most smug condescending pr#ck ever.
Needless to say the 6^th lease will NOT be Mercedes.

My family has been a Mercedes-​Benz customer for over 40 years; clearly, we love this brand. After buying cars from Fletcher Jones of Las Vegas, I decided to buy my newest car through Mercedes-​Benz of San Diego. I really had a wonderful experience that I felt was worth a Unilocal review.
Sean Farrell was my salesman and the reason why my experience buying a new car was so great. He was always pleasant, always made me feel very important as a customer and was very efficient at updating me via email regarding my car’s journey from Germany. Not to mention, he had to endure my annoying requests that I repeated 100 times per month. (Sorry, Seann!) He really is a standout at this dealership and deserves all the 5 stars in the world. Special shoutout to the sales-​manager, Mark. He was always very professional and certainly the one who turned me away from buying another car in Las Vegas.
One star removed because the service department needs a lot of work. Every service advisor I have had has always been great, but my former car always had issues that seemed to be exacerbated after being worked on– strange! The extended warranty IS your friend, that’s all I have to say. Also, the loaner car desk seems to always find itself with employees that don’t seem to enjoy their job. The employees seem to be around my same age, so it could be that there is a little bit of resentment on their end, but I can’t say I enjoy the consistent attitude from them every time I’m in there.
Thank you for my new car, Mercedes-​Benz of San Diego! It is the most beautiful car on the planet. I am so, so, so happy!
