My son got his haircut here. $ 10 with tips. Affordable and saves me time from having to wrestle him and his hair myself. It is a good cut. He looks good. Maybe because he’s 6 and most things look cute on them. They also will sit through the less than enjoyable process if rewarded with lollipop.

for a cheap price, you’ll also get a cheap haircut.

If you are not too fussy and want a simple haircut then this is the place to go. Affordable and quick. Best time to go is weekdays when it’s less crowded. They don’t do shampoo which is a down side.

If I could give this place a 0 star rating I would! It may be cheap and affordable but these people are terrible! Worst haircut I have ever had without question! I will be looking for an experienced barber shop to fix this mess these people have created on my head!

The hair cut is cheap here. But your hair would look bad until you next hair cut. Recommended if you are just trying to save money.

My dad was there Sunday morning waiting for a haircut. He had #5. He came back 30 min later and we asked what happened. They served #4 then jumped to #9 so he left. What happened to helping #5−8. Not cool

You get what you pay for, this place is a chop shop. It is not a salon and nobody should think otherwise. If you simply want your long hair to be shorter then you’re at the right place but don’t expect it to come out even or looking decent. I used to come to this place when I had a simple buzz cut and chose a particular barber that is no longer working here. I decided to give this place a try with a new barber several months back and it was mind boggling how somebody could mess up a simple buzz cut. It’s pretty obvious they just care about turnover and rush through your haircut. There’s a review on here that mentions derogatory remarks and yes there are some barbers in there that talk smack in their native tongue. It’s not surprising but it’s also not good practice. Just because customers can’t understand the language it doesn’t mean they can’t read body language or facial expressions. There’s plenty of salons in the area. The one around the corner near bed bath and beyond is fairly good if you go to Kim. It’ll be almost double the price but you’ll be 100 times more satisfied with their service and most importantly your hair. If you’re broke and must go to another chop shop, at least go to PQ Barbershop. They know what they’re doing when it comes to simple buzz cuts and fades.

I’ve been going to this place for over 20 years when the price for a haircut was $ 6 bucks. Now it’s $ 8 and still a steal. They have 10 haircut stations and you walk in and take a number. I’ve told several of my friends to go here. You can tell the person that cuts your hair is good when they take their time and check the mirror all the time to see it looks good. Now my friend goes to the barber that works seat number 1, I go to the girl that works chair number 8 and my other friend goes to the man that covers station 9. The others are ok and I’ve tried a few but didn’t get the attention I did from my stylist. Sit inside for 15 minutes and see which stylists everyone waits for and then you’ll know which one to try.

I can only speak from my own experience. There’s a lot of bad reviews here but my experience has been great. Been here about 8 times now. I always go to Hiep at the last chair(nearest to the restroom). I do not have experience on any other barbers. He spends a lot of time giving you a quality cut and doesn’t speak to anybody else while doing it. I usually have to wait 2 – 3 people, although occasionally get cut right away. Seems a lot of people are regulars so along with the bad reviews seems like it’s overall a hit or miss experience.

My hubby and son had the worst experience at this place due to their lack of customer service and hair cutting skills. On top of that, they continued to converse in their native tongue with smirks on their faces making it more obvious that they’re making DEROGATORYREMARKSABOUTTHEIRCUSTOMERS. We used to swallow these experiences in the past when we visit such establishments e.g. Vietnamese nail salons, etc but now thanks to Unilocal,we can voice out and share our bad experiences with others.

PLEASEREAD. EXTREMELYIMPORTANT! DONOT, and I repeat, DONOT spend a dime at this place. I went in for a buzz cut, no frills, and somehow they managed to mess that up. The old Asian lady cutting my hair kept diverting her eyes from my head to the tv screen showing a stupid instructional about Easter egg hunt related arts and crafts WHILESHEWASSHAVINGMYHEADANDDOINGTHELINEUP… She shaved down parts of my head nobody even asked her to do. When I asked why she did it she said«you have to let us know.» Okay, so just because I didn’t say anything about it doesn’t mean I’m implicitly asking for the service, MORON. SHEDIDNTEVENGETMYSIDEBURNSSTRAIGHTSOSHEKEPTCUTTINGHIGHERANDHIGHER. Not only that, she cut one at an angle and the other in a different angle. Completely, and utterly brainless people working here. Not even worth 8 bucks. I’d have done a better job on my own with my home clippers with just a handheld mirror. If they can’t get a dang buzz cut correct, how could you trust these imbeciles to do better on a REALHAIRCUT???

If you enjoy feeling like a sheep being sheered in a Chinese POW Camp, while being stared directly at by patrons(who don’t know they have a choice) seated in torturous park benches directly across from you… then this is the place for you. Note to my «barbor» today, I apologize for interrupting your conversation with your coworker while you clipped 1⁄16th of an inch off me at a snails pace, but if you push my head down one more time, I’ll have The Board of Health and Immigration in your shop faster than you can insult your non-Asian patrons in your native tongue. Mesa barber shop! Hmm what can I say. Been going here for 16 years ever since we moved to mira mesa. The barbers, mostly ladies, are always nice and friendly. I’ve never really had a problem with the quality of the haircuts, granted mine is a simple 2 and 4 buzz cut haha. It gets really busy during weekends, so expect a wait if you go then. I suggest going on weekdays, get in and out in less than 20ish minutes. I do love that they always show charger games on Sundays, so you can watch while you’re waiting and getting your haircut. Only con I can think of is that the workers always talk amongst themselves in their language, which is sometimes rude, in my opinion. But other than that it’s a good place to get a trim!

I’ve been going to this place since 1999. I always get inconsistent cuts whenever I come here. Probably one of the cheapest places to get a haircut.

I’ve been getting my haircuts at this place ever since I was 5 years old. It has always been $ 7, but now they’ve increased to $ 8. Whoever is the new management of this should’ve kept their tradition of $ 7 for every haircut. I’m just disappointed with the changes. I didn’t think the economy would push them to be like any other barber shop. *A tip when getting a haircut at this place would be to pick your favorite individual barber

Will not go back to this place. Sure it’s cheap, but you get what you pay for. I asked for a medium fade, skin & #2. The barber kept craping my skull the whole time, I was painful most of the time. The cut was totally careless, rushed, and with a bunch of stray hairs. I’ve had bad haircuts at other places but this one topped them all.

I’ve been coming here for years, every since I was a student and for the most part it has served me well. For guys, a haircut is a simple thing, nothing too fancy. They charge a very reasonable $ 7 dollars. Plus tip and you’re looking at less than $ 10 bucks. Not bad. Most of the haircuts I’ve received are fine, nothing out of the ordinary, but I’ve had a few that were not so good. Don’t be afraid to repeat yourself and make clear what you want. Also, once you find a specific person you like and you like how they cut your hair, give them your number so you can wait for them specifically.

I have been coming here with my son for over 10 years. We’ve probably had haircuts from all the barbers. No major complaints so far. The price can’t be beat. No excuse to not tip at least 100%.

I’ve heard the terrible stories concerning this place, but decided to risk it out since I live pretty close by. The first two times were fine, cheap $ 7 haircuts that looked decent. The third time though… *shudder* I had a lady cut my hair, it could be the infamous Cyndi from other reviews, but anyways I tell her how I want my hair cut. It’s the same way I’ve been getting it cut for the past 2 years or so, including the times I’ve had it cut at Mesa Barber Shop. Here almost exact words were: «What? Do you even know what you’re talking about?» Seriously? Also, while buzzing my hair, the constant motion of the buzzer nudges my head ever so slightly forward. She had the nerve to tell me to «stop falling asleep and moving your head» I guess I totally lucked out on the previous two times I went… but if you’re thinking about coming here PLEASE do yourself a favor and DON’T. There’s Miramesa Barber Shop right across the street by Target that’s about the same price($ 9), but they won’t insult you while cutting your hair.

To paraphrase Pedro in Napoleon Dynamite: «My hair was making my head hot, so I shaved it off.» Actually, I wanted to do something new — especially with my receding hairline — so it was off to one of the oldest barber shops in my neighborhood. Very good work for the the price I paid($ 8 plus tip), and I was pleased with the work they did shaving my head. I’ll be coming back in a few weeks to get it maintained.
