Michael and Kate Photography offer premier wedding photography in the San Diego area. With their experience and education, they work seamlessly together to capture special memories through event photography, portrait photography, graduation photography, family photography, engagement photography, wedding photography services and more. Business Owner

Michael and I first met at Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara. I was working on my undergraduate degree of commercial advertising, and he was working on his Masters of Science in photography. We hit it off, and before we knew it, we were working together for all kinds of clients throughout California.

Eventually, we made our way to San Diego where we launched our wedding and portraiture business in 2006. In 2010 we went back to our old stomping grounds — Santa Barbara, and married each other above one of our favorite beaches.

When we are not working, we really enjoy traveling, cooking new recipes together and spending time with our friends and family.

Michael & Kate are amazing photographers! They not only photographed my wedding, but also my sister’s wedding too. They bring so much to the table being a husband and wife team — they are totally in sync and have such sweet, calming and loving personalities. Having them photograph my wedding was one of the best choices we made for the wedding! The shots are absolutely gorgeous and they were able to capture exactly what we wanted. After we received our photos back, there were a few photos that I wanted to have special editing done to and Kate was happy to do it and did it very quickly too! The requests I had for those special edits were so specific and the results came out amazing! We are so happy with the results and will absolutely recommend them to everyone we know in the future. :)

My wife and I have used Michael & Kate Photography the last two years for their «mini-​sessions» that they offer before the holidays. We use these photos for our holiday cards and they’re always such a big hit with our friends and family!
Last year we met them at Balboa Park and captured the first professional photos of my wife, our dog and myself after getting married earlier that year. and they turned out spectacular! This year, Mike & Kate chose to do the photo-​shoot at Windansea beach in La Jolla and the photos came out even better! My boss even commented on how I won the best holiday card award in my office this year! This year’s photo session turned out so great, we purchased additional photos because there were so many good ones to choose from.
They’re always so patient and helpful throughout the photo-​shoot, even when our dog isn’t exactly cooperating. They choose only the best locations throughout San Diego, and Kate has such a great-​eye for all the right angles that have made our photos incredibly unique.
I would recommend Michael & Kate photography to anyone!

This summer we decided to get some family photos taken on the beach while we were vacationing in San Diego. After looking at several websites I reached out to Kate. She was prompt in her response and was very reasonably priced. She met us where we were staying and truly made if fun for all of us– even our kids who were dreading it. After our Daughter Poppy was born, we wanted to get photos taken while the grandparents were visiting. Mike and Kate came to our home and were on hand for hours setting up, chatting it up and making everyone feel so comfortable that every shot was perfect. Kate and mike are amazing. Such great photographers and truly so easy to work with. Start to finish we had no problems and they did a great job with our wedding. They are truly like friends they make you so comfortable and even stayed in contact. The quality of work and effort they put in is phenomenal.
