We had an issue with our microwave and workers Edwin and Martin did great. They responded on a timely manner and professional in doing their job.
I don’t usually do reviews with maintenance service but they do deserve to be mentioned for the kind of service they provided.

Terrible. Absolutely terrible.
First off, we moved in and literally within a month we had fleas. My cat and I are both allergic to fleas so I get super swollen and she gets flakes and sick. Luckily I was able to get rid of them after 2 treatments and a lot of vacuuming.
Second, it reeks. If you live on the first floor there’s no ventilation so the smells that all come in, stay in. Perfume, dog, fish, cigarette smoke, etc. I’ve gotten used to it but every time I have a visitor someone mentions it to me.
Third, my neighbors pot and cigarette smoke seeps into our apartment. I have complained to them for months while I was pregnant that my bathroom has a pot smell coming in. Their solution? Seal my newborns bathroom vent. It’s worked for a bit (or maybe they just ran out of Marijuana) but it soon came back. I’ve also had to close all my windows because of the cigarette smoke. I have literally no fresh air coming in. And for some odd reason, the smell of cigarettes is coming in through my kitchen! I have no idea how or from where since all our window are closed. I’ve had to keep my newborn daughter in our bedroom for the whole day. We can’t even shower her comfortably in her own bathroom because we have to rush so the smell of pot and cigarette doesn’t get in our clothes or hair. Everyday is a nightmare here. I have a sensitive nose and have a migraine every single day because of this smell.
The only thing good about this place is the maintenence guys. My maintenence man Edwin has been nothing but helpful and supportive since day one.
If I had the money, I’d pay our early termination fee and move out asap. Unfortunately, I still have a few months in the hell.

I wish I could give them ZERO stars. This place is horrible. I hated living here, first off, parking sucks. Especially if u have 2 vehicles. This place is infested with bugs, roaches, bed bugs, u name it they got it. The walls are paper thin you can hear everything going on around you. Another is expect to step in dog crap/​piss every single day. The owners don’t clean up after their pets and the walkway to get to your apt is carpet. Imagine how lovely the smell is ;) I really wish I had some positive things to say about living here but I don’t. Goodluck on your search

I wouldn’t say anything good about this apartment complex. They are very rude, fake people except for one dude in the office. Every time I went into the office someone was complaining about something. The apartment buildings smell, the maintenance people are sketchy and don’t respond well to repair requests. The cleaning ladies are lazy and don’t clean anything. The community washer/​dryer machines are disgusting, expensive and are rarely in working order. I was always so disgusted with the whole place and couldn’t wait for my lease to be done. Then once my lease was done and we had our apartment professionally cleaned in order to avoid any issues with the move out process and getting our deposit back, they still charged us for painting, carpet replacement and cleaning of the apartment. This place is disgusting especially for the rent charged, it’s worse than the nastiest trailer park known to man! Im so terribly upset that I chose to live at this apartment complex I wouldn’t wish it on my worse enemy.

Okay so if you have read my last review. Then you know pretty much everything. My only problem with the Mira Monte apartment was the roaches. Well I have learned that the Mira Monte apartment offer free pest control only on Thursday’s. Thanks to Chris and Mike! A Great example of how Awesome the leasing Agents at the Mira Monte apartment are. I mean as soon as I post the first review for these apartment about the pest problem. The same day I received a called offering free pest control service from Chris Awesome! A++++ service you Guys. Management need to do something for these guys for the Great work. So every Thursday you can have them come to your apartment and spray for those pesky pests for Free. Plus like i said in the first review location is great right next to the freeway and i do mean right here off the 15 highway Carroll Canyon exit very quick and easy to get on/​off the freeway. There are two beautiful pool areas w/​hot tubs on site and shopping in the area is a breeze conveniently located on mira mesa blvd everything you need. They have a playground area that is not to far away for families with children and before I forget I like to stress to any students attending Miramar College just a walk away from the school and I do mean just less then 5 min walk. So you will definitely save on gas to and from school for sure. If you are thinking about renting at the Mira Monte apartment say Hello to Mike, Chris and Cassandra for me and let know that Danielle Gainer recommended you. I truly recommend these apartments for Families and Students.

I’ve lived in this complex for five years and I’ve seen some upward changes but I can say that these apartments are not worth the rent. When I originally moved here, the rent for a 2 bed/​2 bath was $ 1165 and our rent renewal this year was at a renewal rate of $ 1730. This is a company-​run complex. They really don’t care if you have five years of on-​time payments and no complaints… they will boost your rent up $ 150/​year… $ 100 if you talk with the manager.
Prices are based on surrounding apartments yet all the surrounding apartments (Solterra, Legacy, Casa Mira View, etc.) have the extra amenities of laundry in your apartment or solar panels so you don’t have an electricity bill. You pay for water, trash/​sewer and electricity here… plus your electricity bill.
I’ve lived here for as long as I have because it’s close to work and sometimes the staff is nice. Sometimes.
I won’t be living here any longer when our lease expires because it simply isn’t worth it. All of the extra bills (required insurance, water/​trash/​sewer) will add about $ 80 to your rent every month and then you have to pay to do laundry… which you already paid in your water bill.
This might be a good community to live in for a year when nothing else is available but I wouldn’t recommend it for people who are looking to find a place to call home.

By far the worst place I have ever stayed. My roommate and I moved from Rhode Island, so we had to take the word of the leasing office. Mistake number 1. They are the worst, greet you with a very warm welcome. However, they don’t give a damn about any issue you may have. (Cassandra is the only one we enjoy). Continuing on, I asked how was the pest control-​given the warm climate. They told me they have a very control environment, soon after I asked about roaches because we don’t have a lot of roaches because of the cold in RI. The leasing lady said no to roaches (Justine). Just the occasion spider here and there. I thought, that’s fine, no problem. However, within a month we saw roaches, easily 3 inches long. They were inside, outside, on walk ways and parking lots.
As you see in most reviews about the cleanliness of area, that is all correct. The place smells and is full of dog feces. You will have crap on your shoe daily. On top of that, there are stains in all floors of the hallways.
Next, the bills. The AUM bill is unacceptable. You will receive a bill in the mail from the Company… Okay, however when you pay the bill– for some reason there is no correlation with Mira Monte. So soon after, they will cite you for eviction. Due to failure of payments for water, hot water, garbage and sewage (AUM). Keep in mind if you pay online there is a $ 7 surcharge for debit cards.
Next, the parking! This place is the absolute worst for parking. I have been towed 3 times. First time, I parking unloaded my groceries (30 mins maybe) car was gone. ($ 250/​tow). Second time was towed in my designated lot for improper placement of sticker. Mind you, it was not. ($ 250/​tow). Third time, now with the complex the spaces are absurd. They are tiny. Usually every spot but a few are taken. And they you have to squeeze in and exit the trunk of your car and hope they person has left by the morning. However, recently I was towed being over the line. When it was the only spot open and convenient enough for my roommate and I to drag our groceries. The leasing office told «when the spot is uneven or slanted-Don’t park there». However they were no other spots available. ($ 250/​tow)
Little side info: rent is 1700 and don’t have a spot for my lot. There is for sure no street parking. The only way you will have parking on the street is if you don’t work or don’t work your average AM to PM hours. There is no sympathy with these people. Michael, another agent there, said «Mira Mesa is like that everywhere». Tried to play me like a fool. They will use every excuse not to help you. Usually when you live in complex want to feel welcomed and like the leasing office has your best interest. For the money you pay here the service should 100 times better and should have the convenience of parking. NOT THE CASE HERE!
BEWARE OF THIS AWFUL PLACE! Move to Casa Mesa View. The beautiful place right off the Mira Mesa blvd. exit.

Just signed a second lease here at Mira Monte. I am very pleased with the apartments and leasing agents. They are quick to respond and quick to solve the problem. I want to address a few of the negative remarks that people make about this place.
1) Dog poop– Yea, there is some dog poop left around. However, let’s get real. The apartments have done what they can by providing poop stations all around the property. At some point we need to blame the owners of the dog not the complex. The poop that is around is in the grass. So if your rolling around in the grass you might have a problem but if that’s the case… You might want to go to a park.
2) Maintenance — I have had some issues with the toilet or shower but they always, always fix the problem in 24 hours. If it’s a huge problem they have fixed it within the hour. Awesome if you ask me.
3) Size– The place isn’t huge or super fancy but we did some price comparison. Compared to the places around the cost is where it should be.
4) Gym– Small is an understatement but if you run you will be just fine. We use it nightly and it is almost always empty. It has air conditioning and cable. We are satisfied. There are gyms close by if you decide you want something more.
5) Parking– You get one parking spot and there is always room. If you have a second car parking can be terrible as you will need to park on the street. For $ 40 more you can get a second spot. We did and love it. There is always plenty of space. If you have a guest, you can get them a pass for about a week. They are super chill about it.

So yea, the place is not perfect. No place is but for the price, service and location its a great place.

My wife and I recently moved here from North Carolina. After searching for weeks for the right place, we found Mira Monte Apartments. Cassandra was our leasing agent that helped us throughout the entire process, spent hours with us the day we saw the place, and did everything humanly possible to make sure we were able to get into our apartment. We cannot thank her enough and without her help, we would still be searching.
The location is well situated, convenient access to the 15 freeway, within walking distance to shops and grocery stores, and we love being so close to Hourglass Park.
The apartment is cozy but very clean. The carpets had been replaced which was really nice. The kitchen is a little small, not ideal for two people who love to cook, and the storage space in the kitchen is lacking. However if you get creative, you can make it work.
So far, no complaints about the property of the staff, we love the area!

My boyfriend and I have lived at Mira Monte for about six months now and we love it!
This complex is one of my favorite places I’ve lived it’s super close to grocery stores, the theater, shopping centers, and the freeway. The staff is super friendly and always makes an effort to assist you. They go out of there way to make the tenants happy. This year they’ve thrown a ton of holiday events including pumpkin carving contests, holiday gift wrapping station and even offered to recycle your tree for free. They provide food trucks during the week which is also nice perk.
It’s a very quite complex and most everyone keeps to themselves. The landscapers do a great job of keeping the place looking great and maintenance is always friendly and prompt to assist you.
This complex is definitely worth taking a tour of.

I can certainly appreciate the feedback that was given from the apartment staff. To compliment, it’s a quiet area, landscapers are often present, and overall the area looks good. I am a home owner in the area so I consider the apartment a part of «my community». It’s good to know my honest feedback was respected! Gotta love that!

Their staff s don’t know what they are doing. Don’t fall for them. They will suck you dry. this place is not clean at all. My pet always have skin problem. Careful that you have to share utilities with everyone in the building.

Out of all of the places we looked in Mira Mesa, we chose this place for being the best value for the money. The appliances aren’t from the 50’s, we have quiet neighbors, and overall I feel like my privacy has been respected since I’ve moved in. For the money, it’s a pretty good place to live.
That being said, there are a few issues to be aware of before moving in.
1)The parking spaces are very small. My car had been hit 3 times since moving in almost a year ago, and there isn’t really much the front office can do about it. I’ve suggested cameras in the parking lot, but maybe that just isn’t realistic.
2)People don’t pick up after their pets. The front office is very vocal about people needing to clean up after their pets, but some people here just choose not to.
3)The parking lot isn’t that well lit at night. The area is safe, and there seems to be a lot of military people living here, but still the parking lot could use some more light.
4)The front office got a little disorganized around the holidays. They lost a few of our packages around christmas. They ended up finding them, but only after we went to the post office two or three times trying to track them down.

All of that aside, it’s a pretty good place to live for the money. None of the issues have been very earth shattering, and we’ve had a pretty good experience here so far.

I’ve been living here for almost 9 months now and it has been a pleasant experience. It is quiet and peaceful. The management staff has been very courteous to me right from the beginning. I can just walk in the rental office 7-​days a week to get help. When I moved in, the hallways were a little dingy, but in a few weeks they changed the carpets in the hallway and now it looks clean and bright.
I like pets, although I don’t have one right now, this place is quite pet friendly.
This place is close to the I15, it saves me a lot of time, specially during the rush hour.
The food trucks, they have one come here almost every other week. It gives the residents some time to socialize. The gym is okay, I don’t use it mostly because I need a lot of equipment like in LA fitness, but I can certainly do my cardio-​sessions in the gym here. Swimming pools are clean and well maintained.
All in all, I like living here and so far I have no reason to not renew the lease for the next year.

This is an honest review of the apartment complex I lived in and there were numerous problems that stuck out. One, the AUM (American Utilities Management) utility bill I was never told about. I was told I had to have gas and electric and renters insurance paid for when I moved in. Little did I know I had another bill to pay after I got a letter in the mail stating I owed money for sewage, trash/​garbage, water, hot water, etc. I can understand paying this bill, however no one on the staff ever notified me of this charge, by a company that is by all accounts ridiculous. I use Check (formerly PageOnce) app on my phone to pay bills easily. With AUM you can pay online, but they charge you an «administrative fee» each time. Ridiculous! Luckily with my Check app (free btw) I get around their ridiculous way to pay online, because if you don’t do that, you’re only other option is to mail it to them, after being approved and who pays bills that way still, come on! Some people online say AUM is a scam, but do your own research and determine your own views, because I for one see it as an evil that could be good if they just changed a few things. Also, there is dog poop around most of the area, so just be aware of that. I didn’t really care much because I always watch where I step, but it’s pretty nasty to smell it sometimes, especially when other residents let their dog (s) poop on their patio/​balcony and not clean it up, only to let the smell and stench fester over to unsuspecting bystanders. God, that was a horrible day. I lived in the A building and parking their was plentiful. I didn’t have a problem parking because I had a car port pass! Paid for an additional spot for my wife each month was a drag though. Do places just assume all apartments only have one car as well? The issue that really was a buzzkill was moving out. They nearly took all of the $ 750 deposit. Don’t ever mention you have pets here! My cat, who did nothing, but sleep and eat, had some how caused so much damage to the carpet that it cost $ 340 just to clean it. Ridiculous? You bet! Don’t ever tell landlords you have pets, they’ll use it against you in the end. If I never told them I had a cat, would I still be paying this charge? I’m gonna guess heck no! On a final note, the maintenance guys are awesome, they’ll try to fix anything, but after a whole year there and them charging up the rent more just to stay there another year after making all my rent payments on time is just ridiculous. I started at about $ 1,200 for rent for one whole year and before I left they wanted almost $ 1,500. Ridiculous! Bottom line, there’s a lot of crappy places to live in San Diego. This is one of them. If you have pets, don’t live here they have breed discrimination, I mean breed restrictions. If you do have pets, don’t tell them otherwise you’ll be charged a ridiculous pet damage fee when you leave like I was. I hope at least one person learns or gains from my lesson.

This complex is probably one of the best places I’ve lived because of its staff, price and location! I can literally be on the freeway within 2 minutes of leaving my place!
The staff members are always friendly, especially Kelsey! I’m always greeted with a smile. I’ve emailed a couple of times for random things for the apartment and the responses are very prompt. They also do a lot of things to engage their residents, such as pizza Tuesdays and having food trucks come by every week. Today, they did a cool driveby stand to give their VETERANS (and all residents) goodie bags with breakfast in them! Who wouldn’t appreciate that?! I wish their parking situation was a little better, but if you get home early enough it’s not too bad.

Here is what really bugs and the management does not seem to be trying to revolve: why is there only 10 parking permit on the weekends where there are more than 100 spots available?! This is not downtown. I think I am paying too much for making my guest uncomfortable on the weekend. So no renewal for next year’s rent from me you know the reason.
The residents should not beg for a shelter? We do have other options… I know this place is 50% full for the most. So why should I be treated this way — I feel no one cares about the resident’s opinion after 6 months being here.

Breed restrictions. I asked if they had them and was told all dogs accepted. When I go to adopt a dog today that policy suddenly changed last june. Not right!

Some outside towing company has been leaving adhesive warnings on windows that are hard to come off, but the staff is working to fix.
Overall place is decent to live at, only place in the area that will accept Big Dogs,
if you have problems let the staff know and they will gladly help to fix the problems.
City controls parking situations and they refuse to change the parking issues, even though the staff has been seeking for change.
