Mission Hills Commons Apartments

Mission Hills Commons has been my home for almost two years. I am very happy I found this location and specifically, my particular unit. The location is terrific! At the heart of Mission Hills, with all the diverse restaurants and unchained retail, it has earned a great walking score! This urban neighborhood, boundaried by Hillcrest, is funky, clean and safe.
The onsite management/​operations team are wonderful. Should anything need their attention, they waste no time in making sure their location is up to the expected standards. They are friendly, personable and professional. The grounds and common areas are kept well groomed and in working order.
I love this area and my place — and don’t plan on leaving anytime soon!

We stopped in the leasing office after seeing an ad posted for an apartment in our price range. The leasing office employee asked us to write our names down, gave us a once over, and said «we don’t have a place for people like you, we’re probably out of your price range but I’ll call you if something opens up.» So either she felt like we couldn’t rent there because of our (Hispanic) last name, her perception of our age/​appearance, or… nope, it was one of those two things since she only knew those two things about us. I wish I could tell you more about the apartments themselves, but apparently the leasing office doesn’t think I’m good enough for them.

Attention Unilocalers that are paying sky high prices for mediocre apartments: either don’t move in or move out. People with serious defects in unit-​call city housing department and write letters. Youre allowed to fix it yourself and subtract from rent. Problems with neighbors call the cops. Why would anyone pay $ 1800/​month for a place they hated? Mission Hills ain’t that great!

Nice floorplan but thats about it. $ 1900 per month for an apartment with no pool just a really small gym that is pretty much useless. I waited months to get anything fixed. My apartment was flooded by a water heater and it took weeks for them to fix the floor. They are cutting back on expenses so the staff are hardly there. The garrage gets broken into and people get stuff stolen. Inside is very basic for the price. The carpet was worn and it is badly built so you can hear your neighbors walking banging etc. The most frustrating is the utility company conservice. Expect to pay high utilities and added fees because this company will rip you off at every turn. We moved into a much nicer place that is $ 300 cheaper and includes water gas and trash and an awesome pool. My advice is keep looking because there is much much better.

GREAT LOCATION!!! Your in the heart of the great area of Mission Hills and every Friday there is a farmers market right off Falcon St. so that’s great. This place originally being built to be sold as condos I would expect a little bit more on the inside, not such a CHEAP apartment feel. These places are WAY WAY over priced!!! example– 1 bedroom on-​line right now is going for 2075!!! WTF!!! that’s crazy!!! with no amenities except the small fitness center. These units don’t even have anything good inside except a LARGE bathtub, The kitchen has basic white appliances, with cheap counter tops and cheap cabinetry with a shrink covering to make the outside look nice, and for the bar light its a single track spot light=ghetto! i think Con Am (the company who runs this complex) is CRAZY!!! for charging this ridiculous price. I LOVED living here but now that rent has gone up more then 300 $ a month if I wanted to renue… its time to say bye bye… Had 2 of my bikes stolen here and Mgmt did nothing, we asked Martha to review the tapes and her response to us was «well when were they stolen so I can look back at the tapes, without a date they were taken I would have to review all the tapes for each day», well… then you should probably do your job and review the tapes so maybe we can catch who has been stealing the bikes, and by past reviews it doesn’t look like mine were the only ones stolen, and nothing has yet to be done about the thefts.

Great location is pretty much the best thing going here. The finishings are disappointing for how high the rent is. Cheap laminate counter tops and floors, cheap press board cabinets, appliances, etc. For a community that charges 2k a month for 1 bedrooms I’d expect much more. The property management company ConAm doesn’t seem to understand the concept of customer service. My bikes were stolen from the parking garage and I asked for my insurance deductible to be split with me instead I didn’t get as much as an apology. After living in the building for several years and paying already to much for my unit, my rent was increased about $ 200 a month when the lease came up for renewal. In speaking with my neighbors this was a minimal increase in comparison to others. Needless to say there have been a lot of moving trucks lately. I ended up moving one block down the street to a nicer place with higher quality finishes for $ 400 less a month.
