I purchased a brand new mini cooper 9 years ago. Most auto shops are not equipped to work on a mini cooper. It requires specialty parts and knowledge. At first, I was getting any work done at the mini dealership, which charges an exorbitant amount of money for repairs. After MINI quoted me a hefty price for a necessary repair, I did some research and took my mini to MVA. That repair went great and the price was reasonable. A few years later, I again had trouble with my MINI. This time, MVA found many problems. They implied that it is a huge repair effort and told me realistically this type of repair might require continued tweaks. It has to do with the engine. The $ 5000 or so that it would cost, might not be worth it. I am so glad that this shop was so honest about the extent of repairs my car needed. A dishonest shop would do some repairs that they would promise would fix my problems, and I am sure that I would need to continue to take my car in for additional repairs. In other words, I think other shops would turn my car into a money pit, dishonestly. I am so relieved that MVA is honest. When a car is beyond repair, they will let you know. Now I can take my money and put it into buying a new car. I will never purchase a MINI cooper again, the engine blew at only 90,000 miles! But I will continue to use MVA and recommend them to everyone. This shop is knowledgeable, fair pricing, and honest!

I have taken both my vehicles here for several years now. I’ve always received exceptional service!!! Both Eric and Marvin are extremely friendly and honest. They even offer to take you to your destination and pick-​up when vehicle is ready.

My car stopped dead in the road and I had it towed to Toyota because I thought surely this was a «recall» issue (steering wheel froze up, all dash lights came on, and I could barely pull over safely to the curb). Toyota called me the next day with an estimate: $ 1000 + tax for a new alternator and belt. Despite knowing I would have to pay Toyota $ 115 for the estimate, I thought I’d check out a few other mechanics. Carrillo and Sons Body Shop, who had fixed up my Toyota like new following an accident the previous year, recommended two companies, and I chose Mission Village, located around the block from Toyota. It was an excellent decision. They gave me door-​to-​door pick-​up service (in the owner’s car) plus the final bill came to only $ 386. Unbelievable! The owner Eric even drove my car off the Toyota lot (not easy considering the car was difficult to steer and losing power), so I saved another towing fee. I found the people at Mission Village to be very efficient, down-​to-​earth, and just plain nice. If I happened to walk into the office when they were all chatting, everyone became quiet, and I thought… what a polite thing to do to respect the customer. Anyway, I am so glad I found this little «Mom & Pop» auto repair shop. I intend to make them my go-​to mechanics for the future.

i really wanted to like these guys. they are a few blocks from my home so they are convenient. but on three different occasions they have recommended replacing parts that were not needing replacement and one time they never called me back with an estimate. the kicker for me was that last week they told me i needed an alternator replaced at the tune of $ 650. they charged me $ 100 for the diagnostics. which, for the most part, is a two minute visual inspection and reading codes from the engine with a piece of equipment that takes about three minutes. so paying an hour of shop time for a five minute wrong diagnosis wasn’t cool. it also took them five hours to do the diagnosis on a day that i had mentioned i needed my car back in three or less. i picked up my car and took it to my regular mechanic, b and b autohaus (i had only taken it to mission village since i was not sure the car would make it to my normal place). anyhow, my regular guy read the codes in three minutes, took my car in and five minutes later brought it out, repaired, no charge. there was a loose bolt. — on a previous visit to mission village they wanted to install aftermarket adjustable camber arms for my car since they said it could not be aligned without them. i took my car to clarence brown alignment instead and they were able to bring the car into spec with no problems and no need for adjustable camber arms. so, after last week i choose never to go back. they are at best incompetent at diagnosing problems and at worst are dishonest. either way, i can’t afford to give them my business. shame too, i wanted to like them. they are friendly. i just can’t trust them.

These guys screwed me in a dangerous way. I had a feeling, but was able to confirm thousands of dollars later. They had to fix my cars busted gasket two times in a row only months apart. They left parts off of my car causing the car to fall apart while on the freeway. Thankfully a huge accident was able to be avoided even with a baby in the car. A mechanic I know looked at the car and said it was done on purpose in an attempt to get my car back to the auto shop for more work and more money in their pockets. I’m clearly an easy target although the guy was clearly uncomfortable when he saw my suspicious expression. My intuition was kicking in and he responded with pure guilt. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR CAR WITH THIS PLACE. THEYRE DISHONEST.

I highly recommend MV Autocare for work on your car… These guys are good at BMW and pretty much anything else… Eric & Marvin are very professional, honest, and upfront with their business and I truly appreciate that.

When I moved to San Diego I was nervous switching from my hometown mechanic. I was able to find Mission Village and I am extremely satisfied with their work on my truck. They were able to get everything taken care of for me in a timely manner and at a great cost. My truck is running great and I would strongly recommend them to anyone in the San Diego area!

Like most people, I don’t like to bring my car in for service. But sometimes Sh*t happens. I have been bringing my cars to Eric at Mission Village Autocare for some time now and I highly recommend this business. Very professional, the communication was excellent and so was the service.

I was referred to the shop for an alignment by Discount Tire shop up the street — the $ 75.00 estimate they gave me for the alignment turned into a $ 1,200.00 job! They quoted me work for replacing ball joints, struts, and my battery (which had just been installed 6 months ago), saying the alignment wouldn’t last and my tires wouldn’t last, unless I had all this other work done. I needed to get a second opinion, and ended up going to 2 other shops for recommendations. All other opinions were I was being taken advantage of, and headed towards paying for work that was not needed. I had another shop do a 4 wheel alignment for $ 90. I feel like I dodged a $ 1,110.00 bullet by running from this shop.

Owner is friendly, knowledgable and upfront with you. Prices are very competitive… after several visits trying to get my audi avant aligned through other shops and even the dealer… these guys got it right! I will now take all my vehicles to Eric.

I have been going to this shop for a few years now & have referred family members who have had equally excellent experiences. They have been honest & upfront with all of their dealings and on multiple occasions they were able to complete the work on my Hyundai Elantra for much less than I feared.

Very pleased with the service and explanation of work. I know a little bit around cars so that I’m not totally lost. From go, I told them the work I needed to have done (overdue on major service and timing belt). I got what was to be done and some minors I didn’t think of that knew needed to be also done, just not thought of by me. I can appreciate that as it wasn’t extra frill and baseless work, but things that needed to be done. I got it turned around in a day, as told. I also got a very fair price for the work, which makes it an overall great experience.
